Description
Been using CamToPlan for a couple months now. It’s basically an app that lets you use your phone’s camera to take measurements and draw up room plans. Pretty solid app if you’re into that kind of thing.
Here’s what you do: You just point your camera at the wall or furniture and it’ll show a virtual tape measure on the screen. You can then take measurements and the app will instantly calculate the area and draw up a plan. And there’s also a tool to sketch out your layout, which is pretty cool. And you can export the plan as an image or CAD file – that’s come in handy a few times.
Look, if you’re into home improvement or interior design, you’ll probably like this. It’s not perfect – the AR stuff can be a bit finicky sometimes – but overall it does the job. Worth checking out if you need to measure and plan stuff around your place.
Editor Opinion
So here's my honest take on CamToPlan. I've tested a bunch of measurement and planning apps and this one's pretty solid. The AR tape measure works really well most of the time and makes it way easier than breaking out a physical ruler. The auto-drawing feature is super convenient too. Only real downside is it can be a little glitchy here and there, but nothing major. Overall, CamToPlan is a really useful app if you do a lot of DIY or room planning around the house.

it's yet another app that claims to make floorplans but the AR scanning on modern phones (Pixel 9 Pro) just isn't nearly good enough to realize that goal. this one...
Great product. Paid for the app years ago. Downloaded it on my new phone and it didn't come with the paid version. Simple email to the Devs sorted it out...
Confusing instructions and it cuts out at 11 feet. I have very high ceilings in my living room. How high? No idea because this app tells me to tag spots...
