So here's my honest take on Captions for Videos - SUBCAP. I've tested a bunch of video editing apps and this one's pretty solid for the subtitle feature. The automatic captions work well most of the time, and being able to translate them is a nice bonus. The customization options are also pretty robust. Only real downside is the transcription isn't flawless, but I'd say it's a small price to pay for the convenience. If you need to add subs to your videos, this is a great free option to try.

Description

Been using Captions for Videos – SUBCAP for a couple months now. It’s basically an app that lets you add subtitles to your videos, whether you shoot them on your phone or upload them from your gallery. Pretty solid app if you’re into making videos more accessible.

Here’s what you do: you can shoot a video and it’ll automatically transcribe the audio to text. And or if you’ve already got a video, you can just upload it and Subcap will work its magic. There’s also a feature where you can translate the subtitles into other languages – that’s pretty cool. And you can customize the font, color, and position of the subs too, which is useful.

Look, if you make a lot of videos and want an easy way to add subtitles, you’ll probably like this app. It’s not perfect – the automatic transcription isn’t 100% accurate all the time – but overall it does the job. Worth checking out.
