I liked this app until today. I'm back on a Ketogenic diet now and started using it again a couple of weeks ago. Everything was fine (although not as easy to log as Lose It!) until today. There must've been an "update" because things are in different places now and searching for food items in meal sections is far worse. On the browser-based version, I had to click in the search bar twice after each letter before I could type another letter. No way I'm moving to "premium" with these bugs!
Reviews for Carb Manager–Keto Diet Tracker
Updating this to go to 1 star. The new app is buggy and slow, as many others have noted. I'm not going to email support since this a widespread issue and the developer obviously has a lot to fix instead of fighting fires one-by-one. Sad since the previous version was literally the best calorie counting platform out there. I'll give them time to fix it (my Premium sub is up in July), but there's a lot wrong and slow and cumbersome and if it's still that way, I'll be moving off to another platform. Putting in food and activity should be a very quick process and not waiting for screens to load and overall feeling like my laptop and phone are running out of RAM because the new UI is so heavy.
Great app! Love the barcode scan feature, allows you to quickly import all the pertinent nutritional information in a click for almost every item I have scanned. I would love to purchase the app, but I'm not willing to pay that much to "lease" it for a year... Would prefer the option to just buy it, or subscribe for a much lower month-to-month rate.
Great app for a low carb lifestyle. Also, the annual subscription is appropriately priced, unlike MyFitnessPal and some others that want an arm and a leg for a food journal. I would really appreciate it if they would add another device syncing option by pairing with Withings, a device company with an ever broadening array of health focused devices.
This is the best low carb tracker I've seen. It has more branded food items than others, and it also logs food in easy to see carbs instead of just calories. Last week I went to open the app and couldn't get past the loading page. I uninstalled and reinstalled, restarted my phone, uninstalled and reinstalled again. I did finally get it to open at one point, but it's touch and go at best. I can't get in at all today and I've gone through all the same steps. Great app - get the bugs out please!
I've been using this app for a few weeks & its been helpful so far. The major issue that I keep running into is the huge # of entries for a single product. I went to log oatmilk creamer for my coffee & there are a dozen entries for Planet Oat's french vanilla creamer. I wish they would get rid of the superfluous entries and/or limit a users ability to submit a brand new entry for a product that's already listed in the system (surely edits to the existing product entries would be enough?)
I love this app it really helped me manage my carb intake so I can see what I was really eating rather than just relying on the package nutrition facts. My only complaint is that I've been using this for over a year and it's never tracked my weight loss progress and I've lost nearly 100 lbs. Every time I log my weight in, it changes it but then tells me I have no history and no weight change since starting the app. I would have liked to see my progress charted throughout the year.
so I understand it isn't the app's fault. but I tried to do a keto diet using this app. in 12 days I gained 6.8 lb. it never adjusted the matrix. even though my weight kept going up. I made my numbers every single day. got my little avocado with confetti. it doesn't allow you to delete things. it also had hard dalami. instead of hard salami. I wanted to delete that but couldn't figure out how to get rid of it. maybe the app worked for some people. or maybe I needed to give them $40. disappointed
Great overall macro tracking app! A few entries i find are not the same but easy enough to fix. Thank You for fixing this issue!! (My issue however, I am having trouble with my created recipes. I needed to update a few based on ingredients and now the macros show 0 for everything!! I did not notice this until today. Not sure how long it's been doing this and throwing my daily log off.)
I do enjoy this app because it helps me to regulate various aspects of my diet by giving me a general idea of what I'm consuming and how it affects my diabetes. There are some changes I hope you can make. My preference would be to have cups, tablespoons, teaspoons, and pints where applicable as options. Sometimes, using grams and ounces is really applicable to the food I'm eating. Also, it would be helpful if the food list was expanded. I would also ask to expand the food list.
