Using this app is sub-par. The interface feels outdated, and I found the process to add gift cards to my Perks account absurd. It was not intuitive to add the first card, and it's ridiculous that via the app you are unable to add additional cards to your Perks balance. To add insult to injury, the website also blows. When adding another gift card you have to redundantly prove you're not a robot multiple times since it doesn't automatically prompt for a PIN, even though it's impossible without.

I greatly miss the "recent purchases" feature on the old app. It allowed me to easily order from different locations without having to re-select everything everytime. It felt more like true "one-click" ordering. Absolutely despise the extra steps which very often lead to making mistakes with either selection drink or location. Please bring back the old recent purchases feature.
They fixed the bugs! So I've upped my rating from 1 star back to 5 stars. :) It used to crash when doing anything related to location permissions and when setting up a credit card on file. But it hasn't crashed once in the last few days. I like the new app interface more than the old, but I still get confused about the weird categories on the menu. Sometimes it's hard to find things. But I use this app multiple times a week again, and I really like it. :)
App content and functionality is good, but if you're going to throw notifications at me daily, let me read them. 6 months and the notifications are still mostly useless, too long to read in preview, don't expand to view all text, and clicking through just leads to the main page of the app. I will gladly use your deals if ever I could find the things. Also, the way you actually pick a reward deal when you can figure it out is a bit obscure/needed some explaining. I feel self-conscious using your app in your line if anyone else is waiting behind me.
Something is always glitching or not working right with the app. I had 3 issues with the app in the last 10 days: it didn't give the right points, a featured perk didn't show up on the day it was supposed to, & the app would not work at all in a different store than the one I normally go to. I've sent multiple notices to corporate to have them help & fix things, but not only have they not responded, they actually took points out of my account. Caribou doesn't care about their customers.
Loved it. Until all of a sudden this month I'm getting hit with double charges after using the mobile pay on this app. What the hell Caribou?! I won't be visiting your stores until I receive a refund for the latest double charge. No communication was ever sent to me about this error or the other refund they sent me. I only figured it out due to checking my bank statements. Check your accounts if you use this app!!!
I'll get pop up notifications showing what the deal of the day is. once that notification is cleared, there's no way to go back in the app to see what that deal was. when bringing up the deal at the store when ordering, the worker has no clue what I'm asking about. trying to use these deals kinda makes you look like an idiot that's just asking for handouts. this has happened every time I've tried using those deals, so I no longer attempt it. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
The app seems fine so far. I wish that I could just use it to check in instead of shouting my phone number into the call box, but thats a training change not the app. The only thing I really dont like is that theres no option to add sweetener to my drink when I order through the app. Which, if anyone has ever put sugar in a cold coffee drink, you know it just sits as grit at the bottom. If I could order it ahead, they could mix it with the espresso.
Easy to use. Navigation is great. Featured items on their own tab so you always know what is new. I can order from home 35 minutes away and my morning coffee and breakfast is ready when I get there. Never cold. Some online ordering apps require you to be within so many miles of the store. Not this one. Would be nice is to know if what you ordered is unavailable either by giving Caribou teams the ability to message back or call or by inventory stored in linked software at the store.
The app is really nice! The options are very clear, and I found a few options I didn't know about! If you order Caribou at all, this is a good thing. Today I got a bag of coffee beans and two drinks, all covered by my perks The pick up was a bit confusing the first time but the staff made it easy. It could be better if I could use multiple rewards on the same order, but I got around it by placing multiple orders.
I actually really like Caribou, but this app is garbage. Forcing customers to 'add funds' in preset amounts that don't fall in line with product prices is a greedy attempt to force you to systematically over pay, because the price totals will never line up with the fund increments, so you have to keep adding funds or lose the difference. This is exactly the same as paying for a $15 order with a $20 bill and then the store keeps the difference.
Who would want to pay extra for using an app that literally doesn't even work?! Double charged IF it even will place an order(you will be charged for the order that didn't even get placed) and you ARE paying more for the same thing as if I ordered at the register. Won't use this app ever again. Especially since they don't seem to care to fix it, this has been an ongoing issue for a Long time.
Loved the app for good long time. Now, my rewards aren't discounted, but since I selected one, such as a free drink, the points are gone. So i have paid full price for drinks, with the app telling me I am using a reward, more than once. I have contacted the company 3 times with no response. App malfunctions and disappearing points with no discounts means I rarely visit caribou any longer.
I cannot register for the app. I keep getting an error that says it is unable to process my request with the information I have provided. Another error said my email or phone number is already in use with an account. I do not have an account (tried the password reset with email) and there is no way to verify the phone number is indeed mine to fix the issue. It would be really nice if there was a Help button available to chat in app or way to send a text from the app to verify your phone number.
Works like it should I suppose, but don't see the point. You can't order in advance and pick up at the window like other food ordering apps; was recently told at my frequent location that I must come inside to pick up, which I was unaware of. That's the only reason I use apps like this, convenience. Doesn't make sense for Minnesota weather and having 2 toddlers.
Promotional notifications pop up once a day but there is no way to read them and they aren't sent to the app's inbox. the inbox is a useless feature. The only reason to have this app is to see how many points you've earned and to place orders for pick up. **Edit** Where did all of the coffee options go?! There's only 1 hot drink option (hot press) and many of the cold drink options are missing (i.e. Iced Mocha) but the store still serves other options. So much for contactless payments, etc.
A few weeks ago I took my saved card off because I wanted to change which one I had on there. it hasn't allowed me to save a new one since and this defeats the entire purpose of trying to order ahead, which is to save time, because I have to reenter my card info every single time now. also it apparently just ATE 30ish points because I tried to redeem a reward, got an error message, tried again, and then the points got taken off, but I was not able to use the reward, it doesn't show up as usable.
The new app update that went out on 9/23/22 is terrible! It keeps glitching and I repeatedly get the "Oops! We spilled our coffee!" message. I also can no longer order online/ahead at my local store. I used to before the update but now it struggles to find my location and if it does find it, it tells me that order ahead is not available at that location, despite the fact that it was available before the app updated. I do like the new navigation buttons at the bottom though.
The app worked great until mid-May 2025 when the trivia option to save $0.10 stopped working. There is less than a half second to choose an answer to the question before losing because there isn't any time to read nor react. I considered the issue being my phone, so un-installed and re-installed, but that fixed nothing. I understand it is just 10 cents, but $ adds up over time.
