So, I ordered a free chicken sandwich with a minimum purchase of $1 online. I choose the location I want to pick up in. I arrived at said location but was told they never received my order. Turns out, it was placed in another location two miles away, smh. The app isn't that good. It's slow, takes long to load, and is confusing to navigate.
Reviews for Carl's Jr.®
← Back to Carl's Jr.®The app doesn't show all of the menu items available at the restaurant. Also there is some delay displaying menu items on the app. This morning at 5:40am I was planning on what to buy for breakfast, but none of the breakfast items were showing up. I checked the app at 6:45am and now the breakfast items are showing. The special offers this period suck! Jack in the Box has great offers changed frequently. Carl's changes in a couple months so you have to wait a long time for a change.
Downloaded app and couldn't sign up for rewards. Signing up with name and email doesn't work. Signed in with Google. Tried to make an order. Epic fail! When in the menu it will randomly take me back to the start screen. After trying a half dozen times or so I was able to select the items I wanted. Tried to redeem a coupon! Can add it to be redeemed it just doesn't show up to be redeemed for 5 minutes. Laghed my !@# off because it was so perfectly terrible! 5/5 for the good times!
The app very rarely works! You get to the end, redeem rewards, go to pay and it says "OOPS, one or more items not available." You go to the restaurant, place your order and guess what? All the food is there and no app reward discount since it didn't work. Also patrons assume the rewards don't work because they try to redeem them and they can't. They don't understand they have to place their order, go to checkout THEN redeem rewards.
How to kill an App. This is the perfect example of what you don't do. You're at least an app, that does absolutely nothing and does not work at all. No coupons, no online ordering (I tried 22 restaurants, so I'm going to say no online ordering), sign in as guest simply get you to the store locator, and then you can log in, so login as guest is pointless. Bottom line - even when they fix the app, it will be too late. All this will do is ensure they always have one to two stars. Should have waited
Tried redeeming offer items in the app, but offers would never show up during checkout. Decided to use code for the "Free Welcome Item" order in-store. Scanned the code and was told the offer only extends to fountain drinks and sandwich items. The app states shakes are amongst the items offered with the deal, but I was told that wasn't the case. So I cancelled my whole order, and left. Uninstalling app immediately.
I cannot apply rewards to my order. After viewing the rewards, I select "apply to order." I am then sent to my cart, but there is zero mention of any discounts or rewards applied. I click checkout and get to the part where I enter my payment info and the deals/rewards are still not applied. I tried this multiple times with various rewards and deals. I made sure the qualifying items were in the cart. Couldn't get it to work, so I went to McDonald's instead.
worst app in history. one day it stopped letting me sign in to my account, constantly says unable to sign in to external account. they claim there are all these great deals but of course they are locked behind the account, but its getting ridiculous that no matter what device I try it refuses to sign me in on my account. looked it up online and it looks like many many others are going through the same thing.
so far, this app is terrible. it'll offer you a bunch of promotions but when it's time to pay, it won't apply the discounts. I tried twice & ended up paying $40 for 2 meals. 😠 Added Comments - So of you look at the comments from the app developer, you'll notice they always want more information & ask for the location. It's not that hard to figure out that it's the entire app & not the location that is the problem.
There's no way to add a credit card as a payment method. You can't enter in any of the info for the card. I'm not able to make an in-app order because of this. Wasted my time placing a large order for my family. Frustrating. Ended up using a different fast food app to order food from another burger joint instead because their app actually works for payment.
In short this app is a horrible user experience. I spent 5 minutes trying to getting a reward to apply (including the free item on sign up, buy one get one milkshake, and others), but I could not get any to work, other than using the "redeem in restaurant option." The rewards UI was either totally broken or far too confusing. I'm uninstalling as soon as I finish this review.
Facebook login no longer works on the app and puts me through an endless login loop that always ends with their app's web browser breaking (possibly from being too old?). I can no longer access my points except for through my PC or phone's web browser, which is less than convenient. Wish they had some way for me to change the login to email or a different/multiple social media account.
UPDATE: 9/19/25. 18 months later and app still sucks. Impossible to use rewards on mobile orders for some reason now. That part actually used to work. Clunky user experience. Tried to buy a coke through the app and I couldn't at the store I was at but I could at another location. Asked for help redeeming my stars when ordering in store and was told I could only redeem through the app. But the app has an option for redeeming in store but no instructions for how to redeem in store.
Every couple of months I check to see if this app is fixed. The Carl's Jr app remains a case study in how not to implement an App for a restaurant. Just getting it to log in at all is almost impossible and mostly, because of bad security design and 3rd party data. Forget about points or deals, most of their locations don't even accept orders from the app because it is so unreliable. I'd be more likely to get food from Carl's Jr if they never had an app at all, it's such a bad experience.
It offers to let you log in with Google, and then expects you to type your Google credentials into the app, which no other app does. Their website is also awful, the add to bag button has been broken for at least several weeks and is extremely hard to press. You can't pick a different restaurant if the closest is closing soon either. My advice, they are making this WAY too hard and Burger King isn't, so you know what to do. Update to 3 stars because they're working on it.
Can't login. It used to work, but not I can't login via Facebook. It attempts to verify, then gets buggy. I can't make a new account either. I fill everything out, then the app sits there doing nothing. So, I can't even use to earn points, which means I don't bother going Carl's anymore. Disappointed but it seems like all the fast food companies pushed us onto the apps, but I'm tired of being expected to eat where y'all have enshitted.
I went to Carl's Jr this morning with the intent to redeem some of my points for a breakfast burger, and was shocked to find a $5.01 "Service Fee" tacked on to the transaction. Appears to be added regardless of location or the price of the purchase. UPDATE: After receiving the response from the developer, I submitted more details through the site they linked, and while doing so I was automatically logged out of the app. Upon logging back in, the service fee was no longer there.
Tried to make an order. Went through the entire process. Went to pay and was unable to enter a credit card. I pressed add card. 0 fields for data entry appeared. Multiple times. Went through the entire process to use Google Pay, including signing up for Google Pay After entering all the necessary information it still would not allow check out. Incredibly frustrating after a 12 hour shift.
there are no deals in this app! the deals look like this, if you buy a drink for $5 you get half off a western burger, so for $9 pre tax you get a drink & a burger when for $11 you get the entire meal, it's a la carte pricing. where's the deal? there isn't one. if they don't have promotions fine, some restaurants don't have them like in n out doesn't, but don't say: 'here's a great promotion', & there isn't one at all.
Recently I tried using a coupon on the app but somehow the full amount was charged. I thought I could get it resolved at the store, but no, apparently the managers have no control on orders placed in the app. They didn't even have the flavor I wanted but still they couldn't offer a refund. I had to go through their customer support, but they don't have a phone line. Only an online message submission and I've been waiting a couple days with no response. I'll have to contact my bank instead.
