Reviews for Carvana: Buy/Sell Used Cars

← Back to Carvana: Buy/Sell Used Cars

Had to go through the application process three times due to their errors with down payment and canceling my order with no notification. Delivery took two weeks from those errors and was three hours late on delivery day. They had errors on my registration and had to be sent back. Online messaging service is a waste of time for anything other than basic questions. Overall was a terrible experience.

Easy to buy a car. But if they missed something during inspection and your car breaks down, they won't fix it unless you have the extended warranty, even though it's something they say they've inspected thoroughly! Truck's engine broke down, and warranty was voided because a preventive maintenance update hadn't been completed before the issue. Carvana said, "Well, it's not our issue because you didn't get our extended warranty." Be wary with them! I would not do business with them again!

Worst experience possible, they shipped and sold me a car that had numerous issues not mentioned in any description and had to immediately take it to a mechanic because their inspection was badly neglected. It spent the entire 7 day test drive at the shop and I couldn't even try it out. Every time I called they just brushed me off and refused to lift a finger to help me in any way. Beware, you will get the "bait and switch" with no one to help you during or after. I'm headed back to autonation!

Horrible delivery service. I ordered a vehicle, and they rescheduled 3 times. The 3rd time, I sat and waited an hour for them to text and say it was rescheduled again. How are you going to text me the day of the delivery an hour after the time with that information? I ended up canceling the vehicle. I would rather sit in a dealership and deal with them than wait on a company that is horrible. Definitely won't recommend anyone to this company.

Not good. Color said black but was clearly blue when I arrived. Also had damage to trim that was not disclosed. They fixed it through the warranty provider but was still on me and my time to schedule it and take it in to be assessed and then again to be fixed. Not what I'd expect when buying from these guys. Should've been accurately described and disclosed, as well as damage free. Further, the lending servicer, Bridgecrest, treats you as if you've already defaulted before first payment is due.

I read the negative reviews and didn't believe. ordered a few weeks ago. Dates have shifted 3 times now. Spent hours on the phone getting everything correct. So already annoyed. Then day of delivery came, I didn't hear a peep until 3 hours after delivery was supposed to happen, because I called to find out. They didn't inspect it until it was supposed to be delivered, they found something and had to have it repaired. I still haven't heard back from them. I found the car local for cheaper.

The app is so easy to use and the whole process was so simple. I just downloaded to browse with no intentions of buying and an hour later I was done buying a vehicle. Glitch in the system gave me double "tasks" so it canceled my order in error. Customer service took over 2 hours for someone to respond and I ended up just redoing the whole process. Car was delivered past the 3 hr delivery window even though it's only 10 min away. Overall awesome but customer service leaves a little to be desired.

(Updated review)This review is divided in a couple parts. The App is cumbersome to navigate at best. Filtering of vehicle you are looking for often brings an excessive number of results requiring you to apply more filters. After going through process, I will say customer service is very good. However, if you use Carvana I strongly recommend using the "self-registration" process for licensing and titling car. I have had my vehicle for two months now. Can't drive because of no plates yet.

Absolutely not. They call you right when you think everything is clear. Wanting documentation that was never mentioned before, that one couldn't possibly obtain that day, talk down to you, and then put a lock on the purchase, no longer guaranteeing delivery date, etc. While on lock, you can't even cancel the purchase. Horrible customer service.

The app doesn't hold your information. I have to put my location in each time I start it. And I can't find a way to filter out vehicles with pending sales. Why do I want to see 200 vehicles I cannot purchase if I'm ready to purchase RIGHT NOW? Found THE car I wanted, clicked to start a deal, and got an "Oops, something went wrong" page. Tried a couple more times withsame result. Signed out, back in, found the car again, same thing. Gave up. Frustrating and pointless.

The buying process is very simple, but the app can't really keep up. I find myself going to the website instead in order to view my favorite cars and complete certain actions because the app is either slow, buggy, or incomplete comparatively. The company Carvana is an exceptional service, however, and I wonder why I've bought a car any other way until now. You can use the app to start, but use the website to the finish shopping and paperwork until the app is up to the same par.

There are so many seemingly excellent cars available; however, I am not purchasing the car myself and have to share the information with my fiance. I noticed there was no share feature like in other car apps. It's not like can just show it to him. We live on different coasts. I also noticed sometimes when I enter in a filter it still does not change the search.

App works decently. There are very larger disparities between the app and webpage. I cant figure out how to open a chat with anyone on the app which seems inadequate. In addition the app gives me a different status than the website does for my vehicle purchase which is very odd. Still processing our car. Carvana rescheduled our delivery for a week later due to "logistical" reasons no explanation past that. Our second attempt to buy a car with them not impressed so far.

The app is terrible. Internet version is better. App tracker doesn't work and when you reach out, they say "Hmm that's odd. Have you tried closing and reopening the app?" Then they try and track it for you and say they can't after 10 mins if waiting. Sorting through available cars barely works, the chat isn't readily available there, only on the internet.

The app keeps closing for no apparent reason. I soldiered on however and found a vehicle I wanted. Once you do the pre-approval process, most cars/trucks suddenly require a HUGE down payment. This, of course, means ones credit isn't the greatest. So, I found a vehicle. Financing was quick and easy. Got my insurance squared away. Day before delivery. "Transportation Delay". Waiting another week. Another delay I'll be canceling. Good luck.

The company looks pretty good. I like the "shop by payment" option, but it does need improvement. It doesn't allow you to input your own interest rate (like if you are planning to finance through your own bank) and it doesn't allow you to select a term- it seems to default to 72 months. That creates a problem for me- my wife and I each drive about 30,000 miles a year. If the car has, say, 75,000 miles on it, we would need a shorter loan so the loan doesn't outlast the car.

You're better off using the site. I figured app would add notifications, or make searching cleaner. It's only complicated things. One example: I reserved a vehicle and continue to get "Purchase Lock Time Has Expired" errors. Later it then confirms the vehicle is still considered mine. Definitely tired of the mini "omg" moments thinking I lost the vehicle while I'm on (week 3) of it being prepared and yet to see a single photo.

Okay, but can be deceiving. For example, a car will show a $200 shipping price. Then you continue to checkout and shipping is suddenly $1,200, which is a pretty big jump. I appreciate the "no hidden fees" sentiment. But these seem pretty hidden while shopping around. Even the cars with "free shipping" suddenly show a $1,000+ shipping fee once you click on them.

I really like your app , but you have a, serious Bot problem, like when you go and look at the cheapest cars everyone of them says purchase pending, but the thing is it never goes away and so the only person that gets the vehicle is the reseller. you need some kind of security check or something, because it's frustrating when literally ever car is taken up . They can keep a purchase pending indefinitely so can you please fix this so the real people can actually buy a vehicle.

I've been using the app since day 1 (June 2018) and have had no issues. I'm always able to make payments and see my loan/recalls in an updated way. I actually don't see ads when I'm in the app, but maybe that's because I don't use the other features too much. They make it super simple and secure for me to log in, pay and get on with my day. Thanks folx! Update: paid off my car in Fall of 2024! No issues at all with getting the title or making a payment all these years. I highly recommend!
