Freezes after numerous long commercials, then makes you watch them all again, then returns to the show several minutes beyond where you left off. When you try to use the timeline on the bottom of the screen to go back to where the show left off after all the commercials, guess what? You get the watch all the commercials again for a third time. Why would anyone ever pay for streaming that has such horrible apps and service to customers. Does this on my Samsung s22 Ultra and S8 tablet.

Won't play videos at all after latest update. Keeps saying I need an internet connection. The same connection let's me know which videos are available in the first place. I've had CBS apps since long before Paramount Plus was a thing. I've tried all the tricks. Still doesn't work. I'm not a programmer but I am also not a luddite. ABC, Fox and NBC work just fine.

9/3/21 I appreciate that the app is free and I can still watch my shows anytime without paying. (Hence the 2 stars instead of 1.) However, it crashes all the time and I have to constantly reload it multiple times during the episode. Very very frustrating! ***Update*** 8/26/23 It's 2 years later, app still sucks and has the same exact problems! I don't care how many "updates" they do, nothing changes. Still won't smartcast worth a damn. App still crashes, buffers & won't load 90% of the time!👎

What a joke. I downloaded this app then couldn't do anything unless I sign up for their service when your supposed to be able to watch episodes after they air. I definitely couldn't do that. Tried on my TV but adds kept repeating or restating several times, and the show would freeze up, sometimes started over. I never did get to watch the complete episode even after trying over 3 hours

This app is design to not work, to force you pay for the subscription. You get a few minutes of an episode, after watching several commercials then it starts buffering and eventually kicks you out. After which you are free to start watching the same commercials from the beginning, but you're never getting past that place in the episode. It's a SCAM! The developer just responded asking me to check the troubleshooting. Which suggests to force stop the app. Is 15 times during an episode enough???

Video works fine but the ads buffer constantly and eventually just freeze. I was hesitant to even leave a review because from the looks of things here, you already know about the issue and obviously don't care. There is no way the 4-star average rating is accurate. Just more shady practices from giant corporations that we have all come to expect at this point. Great job.

For the past 2 days, the CBS App continuously closes out when I attempt to open it on my Android cellphone. Yesterday, after it repeatedly closed out, I cleared the cache, and after that didn't work, I uninstalled, and then reinstalled. After numerous attempts, it finally opened. Now, today, it is back to not opening. Please fix this annoying issue as soon as possible.

I would rather give a -5, but it isn't an option. I've been trying for a week to watch the Oprah special with Harry and Meghan. It crashes every single time. I watch 5 minutes of ads, 4 minutes of interview, and BOOM. Error, please try again later. I sent an email for support a week ago. Thank you for promptly responding. Oh wait. They didn't. Nothing. Zero. Zilch. I've managed 25 mins with at least 4x as many ads due to having to restart the app and watch ads just to skip to the stop point.

Too many advertisements in a special I'm watching. 4 or 5 ads 5 times already, and I'm not even halfway through this 1.2 hr special yet. And after the last set of ads a second ago, an error occurred within the show, and closed. So, now I have to go back and find where I last was, and restart. Go through another set of ads. That's 8-10! First ever show I watched on your app and this already happened. Hope it's not a sign of things to come. Please improve.

Giving it 2 stars because there is still a lingering issue from the previous CBS app that is still very much prevelant on the new updated version, and a new reocurring issue that just started to happen 2 days ago. One; the app still freezes from time to time during ads, and that freezing carries over to the show sometimes. Two; I keep getting a pop up that says that the app has stopped working, even when I'm not using it it STILL pops up as though I have been, which is annoying!
