Reviews for CDisplayEx Comic Reader Lite
← Back to CDisplayEx Comic Reader LiteReally good comic reader. Highly customisable, at least regarding screen fit and scrolling. There's around one ad per comic book, which isn't annoying, I'd even consider buying the ad-free version if it was a bit cheaper, but I'm kind of broke right now (hence using this instead of subscribing to Marvel Unlimited)
Very useful comic reader. I like that it gets whole pages in the frame that are generally very readable and preserve the integrity of the images on display. Helped me get a start on my backlog on the go. There are ads in the free version, so that's a little annoying. But they're easily dismissed and not too intrusive.
Non-stop forced full screen takeover pop-up ads. Would not recommend.
awful ad laden garbage, try ComicScreen instead.
Computer version better. I hate ads.
I had read many excellent reviews here and at the paid version. Hence, I tried out this free version. Overall, it is a good manga reader but there are still something that are bugging me (I have been a comicrack user for many years) Basically I want to see the page fill my screen space. 1)Top/Bottom/Left/Right justified setting does not, it just fill left/right, top/bottom does not stretch to fill screen (with or without border crop). 2)Top/bottom justify setting does stretch to fill top/bottom screen, but i have to press twice to go to the next page. First it fills the page on screen, one press shift the page towards left (or right) direction. One more press then it goes to next page. This is even worse with border crop on as it first chop off some portion of image left/right side to fill the screen. Quite disruptive to reading the bubble. Not sure if paid version does better? Hopefully for 1) it can fill up the screen space top/bottom.
Excessive ads. Seems like every 5 or 6 pages, some very long. Subfolder sorting, say with manga chapters is a little different than Windows and can be a little wonky. For subfolders, Windows will sort 15 -> 15.5, but CDEX will sort 15.5 -> 15, so archives need to edited to force the correct order, so, something like 15.0 -> 15.5. Otherwise a great app that is every bit as good as the desktop app...other than the extremely invasive ads.
The ads maybe annoying but it's free after all. The ads not too annoying anyway unlike a certain file opener aplication
wonderful app. the only issue I have with it is the ads it always brings out when in the middle of my reading. It can be annoying and frustrating sometimes. apart from that everything else is on point 👍🏾
It's been a great experience so far, after a couple of hours of testing. - - Big fan of the tapping function that moves the window right, then down and left to the next frame in a comic. - - Ads (videos) is not an issue, so long as you have the volume muted; they can be skipped at any time and are not forced 30 secs long as in other apps. - - Thinking of buying the ad-free version if my comics interests continues.
The amount of adds is excessive, and a small amount of them are really long and can't be skipped. Couldn't find an option to buy premium or remove adds in app. The app itself is flawless. Absolutely perfect. Never lost the progress on my volumes, super easy to organise and find where I was in each manga I'm reading. Everything loads super fast although I'm using an old phone (nearly 7years old) and really high quality images.
Dont works on zip or rar files. Its taking to long to open the zip comic or rar comic! looks like its building something like cache! all my comics , pic zips are in sd card!
this app is dope! I just have a few complaints. make the comic pages scale properly! sometimes they just zoom in too much, make it feel like you're actually reading a comic. It's annoying to scale it properly after I turn every single page! and make a dark mode for the app, please! Other than that this app rocks!
Great app, with many options (confusing at first, but you figure eventually). Some caveats: * settings should be accessible while reading a comic, no need to return to the main page * scrolling distance is not working well in landscape: It's not really 100% (more like 60%), and it's capped at 100%, so I can't put a higher value to compensate. Edit: is worse than I thought: confusing and paywalled to work well
I've noticed that you can't get into a folder with different kinds of files, like images, music and video. The lite version I installed collapses and may not go further if I try to open the same folder again. Some folders containing a set of images cannot be run as a sequence, while the original program for PC had no problem at all over the same option. No exit/ close app button. No auto play. Cdisplay is a great app on PC, please make the new update soon.
The only app anyone should download for viewing books in PDF, CBZ, etc... Color correction and format stylization is what makes the premium version of this app a must for anyone who wants perfect viewing options for any large format reading on their phone or tablet.
Completely unusable on my device. Pages took way too long to load up, even after lowering cache size like I saw the dev suggested (14,10,8,5mp) to the point I gave up. Then I went to uninstall it and exited the app, and my apps failed to display at all for a long while. Once they finally did, I uninstalled, but my phone had heated up over 167 degrees. It normally never gets over about 153 or so, and that's only when something unusual is going on. So I'm definitely not trying this one again.
Why this app remained hidden from search results for me for so long, I have no idea. Plain and simple : NOTHING ELSE COMPARES. This app has just about anything you would want out of a comic reader, and then some. While the free version has ads, they are EXTREMELY INFREQUENT, with about 1 per hour in my experience, and they are easy to close without click traps. To get dark mode, you also need the paid version, but most other things are there! Fast, easy viewing, customized library, readable UI!
I installed this app recently this year, after searching for a portable way to read comic book files. At first, I was seeking to buy a separate device to support reading content more, except this app saved me from doing that at the moment. The display of files, picture quality, and alternative ways to read from page to page or zooming features really support the reading experience well. Neal Adams Monsters has been read completely, so not sure why I would rate lower at this time. Great reading!
