At first, I was a bit skeptical, and it turns out that I should've trusted my gut. You only get 3 free songs, then after that, boom, "Give me your money." (< not an actual quote) Every single feature on the app is premium. On top of that, the chords for the three songs I've played are highly inaccurate and the timing doesn't match the song at all. It's late, then it switches to another chord when the key stays the same in the song.
Reviews for Chordify: Song Chords & Tuner
I read an overall negative review on this app, and guess what? Pretty much exactly as they described. Three songs, rest locked behind a paywall. I "chordified" a song, and the timing was off, and it didn't do half of the chord progressions and changes that was in the song. Pretty disappointing since I thought I was finally going to be able to play a bisbâyé song since no tabs for any of their songs exist.
The interface is really, really difficult if you're just starting or don't want to/can't listen as you play. There's no way to just read the chords as you play - it only plays the song and flashes the chords as it goes, and doesn't show lyrics at all. Too game-ified to be useable. Also it's also NOT FREE - if there isn't a free version beyond a 3-song trial, say that up front and don't pretend there's a "pro" version. I'd be glad to pay if they were actually honest about their paid service.
Chordify is musician's BFF. When I come across a Pandora or Spotify track worth playing, I find it and fulfill the wish. Studio, concert, and cover tracks are available from same search. When I was the first Chordify member ever to have chosen a particular song, Chordify analyzed and auto-generated the song before my eyes within a minute! 1 suggestion: Chordify is 95% accurate, and I would like to offer occasional chord revision. (My caveat by no means detracts from 5-star stellar rating.)
As a music/guitar teacher I'm always looking for apps that can help my students. I decided to do the year discounted subscription. With all the features available through the subscription that I didn't have before, I really like this app, and so do my students. There is a huge selection of songs, backing tracks, and even song tutorials with tabs. The best feature for students is that you can slow the tempo of the song so you can play along. A great app for learning chord progressions for songs!
Great app! it has issues, but overall it's good and support is helpful. Without the premium subscription it can be annoying with adds and you can only play 4 songs a day. If you could do more without the premium plan, this would be an amazing app. I started using it and it boosted my skills a ton. I got the premium and it made it easier and made me better. it's good, but having to pay in order to play more than 4 songs makes learning a LOT slower. would have given five stars otherwise.
disappointed... I bought the year subscription, thinking this would be a great way to learn more songs to play on Ukulele, but it's literally just a chord reader that guesses at chords to songs it pulls off of YouTube. it doesn't even show you where the chords are in relation to the song your playing. and if you transpose the songs, the music doesn't transpose along with it, so you play chords that don't match with the music. there are free apps out there that are way better than this.
Love this app but there is one really annoying issue that has plagued it. It started a long time ago (just didn't reported). After a song, I try to switch to another, and almost always get a RETRY message. 'Sorry, the rest of your Library failed to load. Please check your internet connect and retry'. I have no issues with my Internet connection. Most often, I have to restart the app and the library loads immediately. Otherwise this app is great and I would give a 5 if not for this issue
Great app for practicing and learning new chords. I like that I can select chords that I want to practice, and it will suggest songs that incorporate those chords that I can play along with and save those tracks in a favorite list. I can slow the tempo, skip around as needed, and set up a loop for hitting those sections I'm having a tough time with. App has a pretty good set of tools as well, like tuner, metronome, chord map, and live chord detection through your phone mic. Worth it !
The app is basically filled to the brim with ads. On multiple occasions when I try learning a song, it would shove an ad in my face for about 5 seconds. Which would be completely fine if it didn't kick me out of the song every time I click it out, causing me to have to click the song and repeat the process over and over again, making the song practically inaccessible. And the moment I DO finally get in, the chords are way off. SMH.
