Reviews for Christella VoiceUp

I'm not expecting this to be immediate or easy but the app was frustrating due to the fast speed. Also having someone describe how to change your voice when they never had to is pointless.

!This is not a free app! I just finished lesson one and I'm already speaking differently. Other self programs tell me i need to say words differently, this app shows me specifically how I should be saying them. I think this will be very helpful.

This app has helped me more than any other. I didn't understand the repetition at first but the more I practice the more I hear the benefit. I wish there was a part 4!

App update now wants me to repay to get the lessons I've already paid for. Also I heard good things about this app, but you really need an instructor that doesn't have an British English accent. I certainly don't want to be sounding like I'm a British woman as I'm American.

Not very helpful. This app is little more than a repeat after me app. Very little actual 'how to' content. In my opinion there are free youtube videos that are much more informative than this app. If I could get my money back I would

the app is pretty good, it tells you how feminine your voice sounds, but... 23 euros to buy a stage for a total of 69? this is pretty expensive. I don't know how expensive the other courses are but I'm not gonna pay so much

Upgrade phone, and Stage 1 lessons gone. I've just upgraded my mobile phone from a Samsung Galaxy Note 8 to a Galaxy Note 10+. Now all stages except the free intro are not available, including stage one which I paid for.

It's a great app for transwomen to feminize their voices, but, after purchasing stage 2, it's telling me I must purchase it again to use it. What gives with that? I'll purchase no additional stages until this glitch is fixed.

Close to useless. Much of this app consists of repeating simple words and phrases in a tedious manner. There is nothing which aids the feminisation of the voice such as how to shorten the vocal tract and raising resonance and tone. YouTube videos, such as the practical and well-researched TransVoiceLessons or Elaine Walquist, are more useful and effective. I wasted my money on this.

Easily the most comprehensive vocal feminization training app, and well worth the spend. Vastly improved interface as compared to a year or two ago. Quibbles: Tutor's accent is not neutral and may present a challenge to North American English speakers not wanting to project an affected accent.

i tried this app and it works great. i only used it for a few minutes and my voice got very femme. i talked to myself in tje femme voice, and when i went back my voice felt Wrong. is this dysphoria? i hate it. i don't think i've ever been dysphoric before this. im going to contemplate this *later,* after i go to bed.

Has help well with my voice training. Having phrases spoken to you and you just repeat back really helps with being able to concentrate on how you're saying the words instead of what you're saying. Have purchased up the stage 2 and thinking about getting stage 3 to see how it goes.

I am very pleased with the lessons and feel its a minimal investment for a longterm gain. I am devout in my lessons and understand the app, as well as its design, is simply not the end all be all. Like anything else in life, you get out of it what you put into it. Practice, practice and practice. Many thanks from this Trans women who is verm much pleased with your economical lessons, well done sweetheart!!

I wanted to love the app, but it's too easy to make mistakes e.g. going into falsetto as it's very focused on pitch and doesn't tell you what NOT to do. I'm now waiting for an ENT appointment as I've damaged my voice using this app 2-3x a week for only a month and most likely have nodules! Yes, I was absolutely doing it wrong but the app doesn't tell you anything about voice damage/common mistakes. I wish I'd paid for a speech therapist.

So I've been meaning to do this review for a long time. I initially got this when I was in an abusive relationship and after she forced me to stop it. I gave up on idea of Voice Training but now I am finally free about 3 months ago I finally decided to retry it for multiple reasons. And within 2 months I had managed what I thought impossible, my voice had been completely changed and I no longer can even do my original voice. You need to do it daily, but it is worth it I promise you that.

The free lesson could be better. It just seemed I was saying words as normal even with holding the "mm" sound and feeling the vibration etc. The pitch analysis seems flawed as a concept in these kind of apps. I can just swing my voice into something silly sounding and hit "90% feminine" while just sounding like a guy doing a silly voice. Obviously that's using it in an unintended way, but it means I can't put much faith in the analysis as a result. Not sure I want to put £15 into buying a lesson.

I've bought this app, all 3 sessions to help as a supporting tool to professional speech therapy , following recent vocal cord surgery. The sessions fit in quite nicely with my morning and evening commute. I'm not looking to improve pitch as the surgery has done that for me, but the intonation work is really helping. As my pitch is already quite good I was able to skip the basics but parts 2 and 3 are very helpful. My only criticism has been mentioned before, that being you can't fast forward through bits to speed up the session. I found I've been doing much of the more advanced practices, reading poetry and also speaking song lyrics as they flow in a similar way. A great app and while it can be expensive to some, it's worth it if you're tired of being misgendered on the phone etc.

This could be better. There are a few issues with it. 1) I have been voice training for a while now, I don't need the basic and intermediate lessons, but I can't purchase the advanced without purchasing and completing the earlier ones. I don't need them. 2) Unclear evaluation criteria. IF this is only using pitch to evaluate, then this app is useless. I could just use voice tools. You need to measure variability, lightness, and resonance to be useful.

Surprisingly bad and very poor value for money. I very nearly paid for all three courses together, but I'm glad I decided to only pay for the first one. Incredibly basic and overly drawn out. Very disappointing indeed. *Update* I'm very pleased to report that Google has agreed to issue a refund! But I hope this review serves as a warning to potential buyers... you will adjust certainly feel let down and cheated if you pay for any of the stages of 'teaching'

I've paid for the stage 1 lesson package and find it to be very helpful. I just have to be mindful not to develop her accent! Recently tho, I've had major issues with the "analyse" function. It is telling me that my average speaking pitch is 81Hz! This is impossible, as my "male" voice is t even nearly that low. Its very discouraging that as I practice more and more, the app has told me I am getting more and more masculine. I am certain this is not my reality. Can the developers help me here?
