Reviews for Chrome Dev

Current state, speaking as a Google and Android Dev. For the first time, this iteration of Chrome is seriously irritating. Idk what it is wrong, but on 1 in 4 websites I use, it's slow to load, it's practically unusable. It's worse than dial-up from 27 years ago. I will try to get you a bug report later. I can not stand this oddly random, insanely slow loading. I've tried 5G, 4G AND multimedia multiple Wi-Fi networkS, which are 1gb download. FIX IT PLEASE!? This is NOT acceptable. It's painful!

Good to be in the cutting edge with no crashes encountered. I just wonder, what's the point of making tabs list horizontally and closing them swip vertically? I find this confusing given that Android doesn't work that way with Apps (At least not the version I'm using 8.0), so it's inconsistent with the OS in this case. Good work though!

Used to be amazing and paired well with chrome, to have an alternative browser for specific things. A recent update has lessened all forms of chrome unfortunately. For some reason grouped tabs all count each tab towards total count on the top right...used to be able to have 80 tab groups, of any # of tabs each and it would say 80 on top. Now you get the :) symbol after 99 tabs super fast. I can't fathom why anyone would prefer this...it should be undone asap and I give 5 stars.

It was a great app until latest changes: it was perfect when one tab could include more because it was easier to organize things but now it's gone. When I open the app and go to choose which tab I want to see (I have over 250 of them) it jumps to the beginning and it's annoying to try and find the right tabs again. I wish this bug would be fixed.

-> Long-pressing text, which typically triggers the 'Copy Share Select-all Web-search' (etc) pop-up, *does not* work, 4 times out of 5. Very frustrating. Clearing cache usually fixes it, but only *very briefly* til the bug resumes; you can highlight the character(s) but no sign of the pop-up menu. (Updated to latest version, 83.0.4103.7). Thanks in advance for any tips.

Great app and great browsing with all the extra bells and whistles you could get from a dev format. Only thing is tho if you own a galaxy s10+ or an -a- series phone you will notice the app crashes and can't be used if you move from internal storage to external storage. I'm no expert but it probably has something to do with Samsung's root permissions security thing.

With the newest update my browsing experience has gone down the toilet. Firstly, the search bar, tab button and 3-dot button are back at the top of the screen. Before everything was at the bottom and I loved it. Secondly, in the open tabs screen there was an option to "lock" a tab which prevented it from being closed by accident. That option is gone. All attempts this far to remedy this have failed. Throw me a bone Google and help me out. I don't wanna give Edge a shot but I will if I have to.

I used to love the app but recently, opening an incognito tab closes the app and pops up with the close all incognito tabs notification. When you open it back up, the tab is a normal tab and the notification goes away. Edit: I have decided to stop using this app. The incognito issue was annoying but fine because I didn't use the feature much, but tab groups have become too annoying. I understand they can be helpful to some people but they make it virtually impossible to disable them for others.

It would be great if there was support for multiple profiles like on desktop. It's a very poor experience and very odd that no other browsers can support this. At the very least, offer an easy way to switch profiles like in Gmail and Meet. I'm having a hard time understanding why this limitation exists on Android. It really kills productivity. And yes, hidden system work profile isn't enough.

needs the option to disable auto-play content, or at least via mobile data - not everyone in the world is in America, or has infinite mobile data tariffs. The option to have the status bar either at the bottom or the top depending on preference isn't going to kill you to code either. It feels like a Microsoft product - makes loads of assumptions on a "one size fits all" basis and gives users hardly any control at all. Like nearly every Google App, it needs a dark mode. Google may like red with white glare, I don't, and such bright colours damage sleep. Other than that it works fine.

Alright, Actually Satisfying, I like it as a Valuable Tool. Test what can be done in improvement of app !?.

After the newest update to version 84 there is no way to open chrome flags. I would like to reverse the the tile tabs to the previous version where they were stacked. I do dislike the tiles very much. Any way you could help me with that? When I searched the Internet for answers, I noticed that there are many people who would reverse the tiles tabs. Please at least leave us an option. Thank you!

many updates for Strange things, change color group tabs change bookmarks place, and other worthless things, what are you doing?

so far I haven't had any issues with it I'm going to assume it's operating I haven't quite got its full functions understanding but it's pretty solid I haven't had any glitches or any thing access that wasn't given so I feel it's a secure app that's not going to control your device

I have not had any trouble. it's really great when you get to test new things and then find out whether it's going to be a pro or con so I like this version the best

i'm just trying to enable some experimental features on google drive to add it but because of that there are several missing items over there.

my main issue is when i click on a link that is to take you to an so Google dev WILL NOT 50% Of the time. VERY ANNOYING

Excellent!! Just need to figure out how to disable the temporary window for quick search, if possible. Hate losing a window when it comes to proactively.

dear developer, for the first few days, chrome( dev ) was showing App size ~ 65.45 mb in size. I turned off background data, auto update for this app, but after 5 days the app size became 136 mb. how's this is happening. is there any other secret ways, in which the app itself increasing its size. please suggest. 🙏 thank you.

I find it frustrating that the 'new tab' button is replaced by the 'Simplified View' button when Reader Mode is available. This removes a core browser function without my consent. Please consider adding an option to always show the 'new tab' button, or allow users to choose which button appears there.
