Description
I’ve been using Citi Bike for a couple months now. It’s basically a bike sharing system where you can rent bikes all around the city and take one-way trips. Pretty solid app if you’re into getting around without a car.
Here’s what you do: you can find nearby bike stations on the map, unlock bikes right from the app, and just drop them off at any other station when you’re done. And there’s also transit info like subway and bus schedules, which is pretty cool. And you can even plan routes – took me a while to figure that out but it’s useful.
Look, if you live in or visit NYC, you’ll probably get a lot of use out of Citi Bike. It’s not perfect – the bikes can be a little heavy and the app crashes sometimes – but overall it does the job. Worth checking out if you want a greener, healthier way to get around the city.
Editor Opinion
So here's my honest take on Citi Bike. I've tested a bunch of transit and navigation apps and this one's pretty good overall. It's got all the features you'd expect - finding stations, unlocking bikes, checking schedules. The interface is clean and easy to use. In my experience, the bikes are reliable and the app usually works well. The only real downsides are the occasional technical issues and the weight of the bikes, which can be a pain. But if you need a convenient way to get around NYC, Citi Bike is definitely worth trying.

Gears didn't work on the bike. no docks available at destination, finding another resulted in an additional 30 min walk and a double charge. not worth it
I hate the new app! It's now really hard to see bike angel points on the map (because they're showing the # of electric and regular bikes per station -this...
