So here's my take on Clever Commute. I've tested a bunch of different commuter apps and this one is definitely one of the better ones. The real-time updates and crowd-sourced info are super helpful in avoiding delays and finding the fastest route. And it's not as polished as some other apps, but it gets the core functionality right. Personally, I find it way more reliable than the official transit apps. If you're tired of the daily commute grind, Clever Commute is worth giving a shot.

Description

I’ve been using Clever Commute for a couple months now. It’s basically an app that gives you real-time info and updates on your train or bus commute. Pretty solid if you’re a suburban commuter in the NY/NJ/CT area.

Here’s what you can do – there’s live updates on delays, accidents, and other issues that might affect your commute. It also has crowdsourced info from other users, which is really handy. And it’ll give you alternate route suggestions if something’s messed up on your normal trip. Took me a while to figure out all the features but it’s pretty intuitive once you get the hang of it.

Look, if you’re a frustrated commuter dealing with all the usual headaches, you’ll probably like this app. It’s not perfect – the alerts can sometimes be delayed and the UI could be a bit cleaner. But overall, it does the job of making my commute a lot less stressful. Worth checking out if you’re in the Northeast.
