Amazing app! So helpful to see what drinks I can make with what is in my bar, and get suggestions on what I could add to make more. Only gripe is that I'd love the option to search not just by drink, but by ingredient via the search bar - and include name brands in the search function. I see Cynar at a bar and want to know what I can make with that. Having to know it's artichoke amaro is frustrating (I know this generic naming is correct, have it so the search function converts names).
Reviews for Cocktail Party: Drink Recipes
← Back to Cocktail Party: Drink RecipesThe app would be great except there's a bug that prevents me from searching for ingredients (keyboard pops up but immediately goes away).
There is absolutely no excuse to deleting years of favourite cocktails added by each user on the app. It was definitely a decision of "not being worth doing it". Even if the old libraries were local and syncing was not an option, they could have warned the users on a previous update. And yes, it is possible. You could have exported the cocktails list. There is no new functionality worth losing years of your favourites. An unprecedent stab in the back, when you least expected. Shame.
Missing recipes and ingredients (no, 1/2 & 1/2 is not the same as "sweet cream", yes it DOES matter what brand of cream of coconut you use), no way to add custom ingredients or recipes, interface takes forever to load, font is all wrong, and too small.
good app but there are a few issues they should fix: - you can create an account and log in on another device but the ingredient list doesn't transfer? I have to manually update each device. what's the point of the account? - the ingredient list is a bunch of pictures of bottles that aren't exactly what you have. I want a list mode of this so I can read what's in there not try to guess what your idea of a vodka bottle looks like.
This is a neat app. It has all these cocktails that I've never heard of along with a lot of classics, and it's really fun to play with. I've pushed a few of these drinks at the bar I work at and most of them seem pretty popular, especially the Bunny Mother. Although I do wish it had a larger database. It omits a lot of lower tier cocktails, such as a Dirty Bong Water, Trashcan, and green tea shots. I can't complain too much because it does have a lot of recipes
4/3/24 - QoL update is fantastic. Easily the #1 bar app now. Tags, editable recipes and make your own recipe added. Save and transfer your recipes and ingredients across devices. If I had one recommendation it would be some kind of "last viewed" section to see what drinks I recently pulled up in case I lose my place. But great update all around!
Great app, lovely UI, but I wish there were a way to save cocktails into lists. Right now, I'm saving cocktails by clicking "Love it", for when I want to try them later or save them for some future event. As far as I can tell, this is the only way to save a cocktail for easy reference later. I love that each recipe is curated with information about the drink, and that users can't just add their mediocre recipes to the database, ensuring high-quality recipes!
Much more variety in the ingredients available to add to your library than similar apps. The drink recipes themselves are high quality, and there are several gems pulled from obscure sources. They don't commit the egregious sin of forcing specific brands into recipes but instead leave things generic with comments about why you might choose a particular thing when needed. The icons for the drinks are great when scrolling through a long list, and the descriptions are well-written and researched.
It's criminal that this app is only rated by a few people and the uninitiated might mistake it as being the same as every other cocktail app out there. The drinks are tested and the creators give you important context and opinion related to each drink. It's like drinking with an expert friend, and I like that. That aspect of the app is most important to me. That said, I do wish there were tags on each drink for "try this later" or "don't like." Tracking bar stock would also be useful.
This app is what I've been looking for. I have plenty of cocktail books, including Smuggler's Cove (which is how I found this app - searched for a drink recipe because I couldn't be bothered to pull the book out), but it's awesome to have so many drinks in one place, with a great inventory system, and curated descriptions. Well done, devs, and I'm happy to pay for it.
Issue fixed ... thank you! Back to 5 stars. Before the update, 5 stars. Loved the convenience, still love the artwork. Post update I only see one frame of drink options when I select an ingredient ... mostly drinks starting with letters A and B. As this is the primary way I interact with the app (ingredient selection), and I enjoy cocktails starting with lots of different letters, the app is of little use to me. Will go back to books for now. Hopefully just pilot error or an update glitch.
Does not retain the info you put into it. Loaded up all my ingredients and my stock last night. Today I added 1 more ingredient and then everything in my library disappeared. Also noticed last night it does not sync between devices even though it shows I'm signed in on both my devices. Shows promise but I cant take the time to input everything I have when I want to find a drink.
App looked promising but I quickly found it to be lacking and not worth the money. For one drink list limited and you can't add ingredients like cream soda or any other mixers that are not part of there pre populate list. Also after adding in my own drinks they were all deleted when I went to use them, app doesn't seem to open if there's no internet connection. Very disappointed.
I like many of the features and breadth of cocktails. The descriptions are nice too. I would really like to have a bit better search option when looking for drinks. I think the biggest area the app could benefit would be a Notes section. We can mark drinks we like, but having a way to add notes like "use this whiskey, not this one," or "a bit sweet as is, reduce syrup by half" would be very useful.
Not a bartender. I have a bar. I tried every app. By far this is the best with variety, updated list, not a single ad, not one. Incredibly easy to use and i love that you can find everything without brand specifics getting pushed to the front every damn search. So refreshing . I love the new additions. Keep it coming. Its appreciated. The substitutes, i almost forgot, priceless ! !prosit⸘ cheers!
This is a beautifully designed app with an intuitive interface for adding ingredients. The descriptions for each cocktail and ingredient are entertaining and informational. I love the style of artwork for ingredients. The selection of cocktails and the curated collections are great. However, this loses a star because it keeps forgetting the ingredients that I have. I'd expect them to be stored in my account, but sometimes when I launch the app they are all gone.
I like the app... I think that the creators should add a feature that reccomends the next item you could add to your ingredient collection that would allow you to make as many drinks as possible by adding said ingredient, allowing you to make a worthwhile ingredient purchase that will expand your ability to make new drinks. it seems like the way its set up, you'd have to seek out each drink individually to see how many different ones you could make by adding a single ingredient DO IT CREATORS!😉
Incredible app. I don't even remember how much I paid, but I would pay more. even if there's a drink that's not in the app by default, you can make custom drinks. you can tag drinks to keep track of what you tried and liked, or want to try, or disliked. I'm not a bartender, I just make drinks at home. it's a great way to track ingredients and shopping lists. love love love love love it
I just got the app and it's awesome, lots of recipes. The only thing, I wish it had was an option for different profiles (even if it came with an extra charge). I work at 3 different bars (mobile and established bars) and each one has different ingredients. Also, an option for mocktails. Maybe something to improve in the future.
