Overall I love the app. It takes a lot of the stress and thinking out of quickly planning my work outfits as a lawyer. However given the world we live in, it would be great to start the outfit journey from shirt colour! Not just trouser or jacket Thanks Oakie
Reviews for Color Genie
← Back to Color GenieI am loving choosing through the colour combinations. Also, I am really impressed by how snappy the app is. Definitely, would recommend to add a favorites feature. Perhaps a surprise me feature would be fun as well.
Useful app. I'd argue it could do with the addition of a different "mode" or screen so you could freely create any combination of items (different from the current mode which are preset proposals), as it'd help better visualize how any imaginable outfit might look.
This application enables you to customize your wardrobe to create an elegant ensemble for formal occasions. It's as straightforward as selecting the colors of your jacket or trousers, and then you can add any additional items that complement your outfit. The application then suggests the best combination for you. It truly serves as an app for those with a substantial wardrobe or simply seeking to create a classic look with a dapper style.
I don't comment often, but I love this app. As in good old times, paid once - and it's yours, without any ads. Simple, intuitive, effective, 100% agree with recommendations provided. Thank you, prof!
The app is great but here are some suggestions; 1. The app should allow you first to BUILD your wardrobe. This way the suggestions given would make more sense. 2. The app should allow you to start not only with jacket or trousers, but also with the shirt or tie, as Prof himself said he does. 3. Finally it should include not only colors but also patters. This would make it for a much more comprehensive app.
Great start! I can't wait to see suit jacket / blazer and trouser style combinations. Fabric combinations. Pattern combinations, especially with shirts and suits but even bow ties, ties or pocket squares. Also the little bow tie in general has been neglected! This is an incredible idea to build upon. I hope you expand on this.
I paid for this app and quickly found out that this app is more suited for a teenager or a man that has absolutely no real sense of style or how to dress. It's very generic and the shirt choices or unnecessarily limited. If you're a person that normally dresses in jeans, chinos and a t-shirt or polo this app will work wonders for you. Otherwise someone that has been dressing professionally and well since my military days this app is absolutely useless.
Super easy to use, minimalistic, and it also has accessories like socks, belt, pocket square... and most importantly for someone who's bad with pairing colors, it has solved that problem for me entirely. Definitely worth this low price!
This is a five star for now but improvements need to be made. I highly recommend this app. One suggestion is to have an area that links to your social media to get advice and to follow (although we probably found you through Social Media). Maybe have a no option for some items. It took me a while to understand if the option didn't exist, it's because it's not an option. Put a reason why the choice made is the only choice. For example, shoes. Shoes can be brown, but only until sunset.
Great idea for the so but it's content it's really poor. No combinations for knitwear, polis, casual jackets etc. Also, color pallet is limited to couple shirt colors only With current content I would not recommend this app, but if its content and different wardrobe combinations grows it's has a great potential.
Very cool! I will definitely use this to help me get dressed in the morning. I do wish it had more color options, for example I have a black and white herringbone jacket and the colors available don't exactly fit for the jacket. Same with a blue and white seersucker jacket or trousers. But this covers the basics, and I imagine the options will expand in the future.
Very good and smooth application, but lakes alot of color shades that should be there, and other different styles as, squared suits or shirts also, coats. I recommend adding much more color grades. otherwise it's very smooth and helpful, Looking forward for the other colors to make the most out of it
Overall, I love this app so so much. but I wish there was the option to change the suit coat up a little bit like maybe chose between a double-breasted and single brested, maybe even like be able to change the lapel style. another thing is I wish you could change the patterns on ties, dress shirts, and suit jackets. it would help to fully adjust my wardrobe around and find ways to match odd jackets with odd pants. Thank you AskOkey for producing this app.
I enjoy using the app. But two things would really help it. First, it would be good to be able to input shirt colour beyond the light colours offered. Second, it would be great if you could tell the app which colours you want it to include/exclude overall based on what suits you personally, e.g. by telling it your colour season or by excluding certain colours manually.
I really love the idea and think the initial app is great, but it could be much better if there were more colour options and maybe patterns as well. It could start with selecting the items in the outfit rather than that coming in after selecting jacket and shirt or trousers. There could also be different clothing sections such as jumpers under the jackets, for more casual outfits. Keep up the good work!
The idea is phenomenal, but the app has some issues. The colours don't show properly, unless if I have made a mistake myself, there's still some bugs to root out. For example, a white shirt is shown as grey and mid-grey is shown as off-white. Not to mention that the light pink shirt is magenta, which isn't as severe, but considering it's an app focused on colour such things should be accounted for. Other than that, I'd absolutely love to use it for my outfits once the problem is dealt with.
I love this app. It gives variety, and I use it for overcoat and sweater combinations as well. One small favor; I know you don't care for black (I watch your content). Unfortunately, I am one of those whose work requires me to wear a black jacket occasionally. Some color combinations with black would be a big help. Peace to you Proff!
Straightforward, simple, effective! As someone who might as well be color-blind with my poor understanding of colors, matching, contrasts, etcetera, the Color Genie app takes all the guesswork and trial and error out of it. I'm building my wardrobe a few pieces at a time, and this resource is invaluable. I've wanted something like this for a long time, and now I can use this to evaluate every piece of clothing I own and pair them properly with combinations pleasing to the eye! Thanks, AskOkey!
It's a nice app; very easy to use but it needs more options. For example if I wanted to do a monochromatic look there is no option or if I wanted to style around a waistcoat or put a waistcoat in the style I wanted it should give you an option it should also have more colors for shirts and pants. The colors for shirts were limited.....telling us no is fine but there should be more options for us men.....
