Love being able to use CoMaps offline and it's incredibly easy to use for planning walking routes. Definitely the best map app I've used.

I love the idea of this app. Note that you can't search for an address unless you've already downloaded the region it's in. Feature request: automatically offer to download a region if you search for an address in that region.

Privacy friendly and works very well without mobile data. As a result it does not consume a lot of power like other navigation apps.

Just a great map app that's totally free and as private as it gets, better than the alternatives in most aspects.

Simple, uncluttered and reliable. Used this exclusively for driving and hiking through Canada and it worked perfectly. Much easier than Google Maps to manage downloads, and with better hiking info too.

Terrible app. Can't create a route from my home to a friend 10 miles away. I record my home address & my friends and all it wants to do is route me from my work location to my friend. Google maps is way easier to create a route.

Smooth navigation, great and open data (OpenStreetMap), can be used fully offline with low battery usage. Fully open source, focused on user privacy and ease of use. Great alternative now that Organic maps has started closing code and introducing privacy leaks

This app works great on a Motorola phone with Android 15. The only thing that would make it perfect, would be an option to show the actual speed and speed limit of my location without the need of a route.

One word ...Freedom! What this app is truly being what it is about. Speaking for myself is one for liberation, so if you feel the same way then always look to support Open Source projects, apps, and the hard working people behind such apps as this one. BC it's those developers who are driven on that purpose and incorporating our rights to privacy fueled on that very goal✊!!!

Installed the app. Like the familiar, easy on the eye display. Hit however a small problem, the SD card is not listed as a place to store maps. This incidentally works on Organic Maps.

Does exactly what it meant to and does it well with no ads or data harvesting. It works offline so it's perfect for hikes where internet is flaky or places with extra roaming charges for example (my holiday abroad companion!). My map app to go.

I quite like this app althougth I usually use it througth obtanium and the official repo. either way if you need a good google maps alternative that uses open street maps this is it. it also allows some osm editing. organic maps had some issues in terms of development and osmand is way to slow on my phone due to having an older phone.

Really beautiful maps in a lightweight app. It's difficult for me to use a navigation app without real time traffic as my daily driver so I'd love to see a TomTom Traffic add-in purchase option. I'd be sold on this app with that addition.

Has a bug when using with Android auto. The map suddenly just freezes and you have to stop navigation and start from the beginning. Had to uninstall because wasn't reliable. Could also be good if it listed the suburb when selecting an address, it just gives you the capital city, in Australia at least anyway.

switched from organic maps after the trouble there. Comaps is a more polished, cleaned up version of that. Navigation is basic but works well in regions with good support for openstreetmap. Map info is arguably better than Google maps in many regions, especially for outdoor tracking and biking. And maps are downloaded, so it works without internet connection. No real time traffic info (yet?), but other than that a great navigation app.

Great for walking, not so good for driving. Not as good as Waze for example. Links easily with Android Auto but auto zoom defaults to walking. Routing is erratic. Does not show speed or speed limits Requires big downloads for maps, easily taking up over 1Gb of space. Have uninstalled.

This map app is sooooo good ! I saw it reviewed in a a corporate IT email newsletter this month, July 2025, so tried it. It is brilliant and is now my go-to map, and I convert to it literally everyone I know. I tried Organic Maps and OpenStreetMaps's own app, but this one is vastly superior. The developer's choices, particularly the visual ones, are just so on point compared to its competitors, and that is why this map is so much better. Note : you can download entire countries in 1 operation !

Amazing map app. I love how it displays road name labels multiple times across the road so that you can easily read the name, which is something that other maps somehow fail to do. Interface is a little dated but thanks to it being open source I can see that it's being worked on. Highly recommend.

I tested CoMaps today. When connected to Android Auto, the onscreen map would indicate a left turn and the voice would direct a right turn. Also, while driving straight down a street, the app would repeatedly (like every 15 seconds) recalculate the route. It's seriously glitched. I hope the next version is usable, but this one is not.

It's a cool app, but I am sadly encountering a bug that closes the app abruptly :( I downloaded the Quebec map because I live there, and whenever I type an address and click on route to... The app crashes... I tried clearing some cache, but it doesn't do anything... If the devs fix this problem, it would be great! (Oh, and it worked only once in the beginning, and then never again, I also installed this app today...) Edit: Works a bit better than before after the update👍🏼
