So here's my honest take on Compass. I've tested a bunch of navigation apps and this one's pretty solid. The core features work well and it's got a nice, minimal design. But it's not the most intuitive app - took me a while to figure out some of the settings and coordinate formats. And while it's free, the ads can get annoying if you don't pay. Overall though, it's a capable compass and coordinate tool that gets the job done.

Pros

  • Tons of coordinate formats supported like DMS, DDM, UTM, and more
  • Compass can be docked to the side of the screen while using other apps
  • Adjusts for magnetic declination so the compass is always accurate
  • Free to use, no paywall to access key features

Cons

  • Interface is a bit confusing at first, not the most user-friendly
  • Ads can be annoying if you don't pay to remove them
  • Doesn't have a ton of advanced features beyond the basics

Description

Been playing Compass for a couple months now. It’s basically a navigation app that shows your location, altitude, and coordinates in a bunch of different formats. Pretty solid if you’re into these kinds of tools.

Here’s what you can do – there’s a compass mode that shows the direction you’re facing, and you can save places to see how far away and in what direction they are. And it’s got a neat feature where you can dock the compass to the edge of the screen while using other apps. And it adjusts for magnetic declination so the compass is always pointing true north.

Look, if you’re into navigation and maps, you’ll probably like this. It’s not perfect – the interface can be a bit confusing at first – but overall it does the job. Worth checking out.

No ads, no fuss, nothing useless. Simple yet effective. Reminds me of the compass app on iOS. Haptics are ✨ great ✨.
