Reviews for Compass: Accurate Compass

← Back to Compass: Accurate Compass

Used to be my go to compass or level. But since a recent update this app is full of ads and it costs 15$/week to disable them which is a ridiculous price for a compass. To me this seems like a scam where the developer is hoping for some people to accidentally sign up to the service. The developer is commenting on it saying it is worth the price but the only perks of paying are no advertisement and customer support (why would I call customer support for a compass?)

The reviews are right! The app is focused on ad delivery and subscription revenue. It seems the actual compass isn't even implemented as it's completely inaccurate and unreliable for even the most basic use. Honestly it's embarrassing.

Horrible app. Do not download. I tried to load the compass and got a full screen temu ad immediately. had to force close. tried to open the level, got a full screen temu ad. could not use any function. absolutely terrible app, just RUBBISH.

I've had this app for some time on my phone (literally years) never had an ad. I needed to use the compass urgently and I had to endure the ad before the compass could be accessed, Instead of having ad alongside the app. Unfortunately not being to access the compass immediately, I will be installing this. :( It was a good app.

I use my compass to help determine the best way to align my furniture to help influence healing. I need accuracy and I love the accuracy of this app. It's a must-use when you can't locate your manual compass while on a camping trip. 10🌟across the board. For the healing adventurers use this app.

This Used to be the best compass app out, clean and clear in both the compass interface and the spirit level - well designed and reliable. But the developer clearly got greedy and now there's ads every time you open it, and a roll of adds down the bottom. Garbage. And asking for pay when no ongoing service is being offered, just an app using what's already in my phone? Scumbags. I'm just going to use the built in widget in my phone. It's less functional, but doesn't shove ads in my face.

It provides my location and the direction I am holding the phone. I can use this information along with what I am spotting to quickly send a text to others that are weather spotting.update: I went to buy the paid version to support the developer and it was $14 a week. that would be more than pay for the phone. if he gets the price right I will be back. too bad it looks like a great app.

This app is totally free And does exactly What it says it does Plus a few extra little bits, So no saying it's free only to find out once you have given them your name address. email mobile no etc only to then find you cannot use or take advantage of one month's free as they still want payment up front so most free apps are not free and cannot get one months free without paying and have to uninstall it again. THIS APP IS 100% HONEST AND 100% FREE so I rated it ***** 5Stars for no tricks

Couldn't use it because there was an endless list of advertising options to opt out of. The issue isn't really that there are adds, I expect that for a free app, but rather the fact that it seems near impossible to opt out of all the tracking options

This app is just amazing. Even the calibration process is amazing. I am 72 years old, and I love living in Mexico City but I am still learning to navigate here. My Google Maps are useful but the compass is terrible. With this app I can actually tell if I am going in the direction that Google Maps intends! I am not in the position to subscribe, but I will tolerate the ads. I actually look at the ads!

BEWARE - signing up for "free" trial premium will lock in a $14.95/WEEK charge. By the time you realize this, you will be $60+ dollars in an unlike to recover fees. Free use is ok, but ads have intensified. I was a bit off - $14.99/week. Just remain vigilant in what you are paying for. I like the compass, but must frequently calibrate. 🤑🤑🤑🤢🤮

I have just started using the App and I found it very useful. I like its guided calibration method unlike other compass apps where you don't have any clue whether you are moving the mobile properly for calibration. Its GPS is detecting and displaying location addresses quite accurately. Overall it is a user-friendly App with some features required for navigation.

I installIPhone. Android app to replace another compass app that isn't supported by my phones OS any longer. Short answer. This compass is inaccurate compared to an actual compass and compass apps on my Iphone. I recalibrated several times and the directional bezel goes west when I turn east and sitting still it jumps back and forth. Even the free version is t worth it if it isn't true. Am deleting the app.

I'm sick of these stupid companies buying free apps and subscription-ifying them. This app used to not have ads or need a subscription. It wasn't bloated, and all was good. This has happened to three other apps that I was actually using and had to (or couldn't) find alternatives for. It's very upsetting. And what kind of compass needs an effing subscription? I'll go buy a real compass instead: $10, one-time payment. But I liked having one in my pocket at all times. This is enraging.

EDIT: I guess greed gets everyone eventually, today I opened the app to 2 Fullscreen full-volume annoying af ads before I could use the app. I would have considered paying to remove ads if it was a single-time payment, but they want you to subscribe, giving them your card info so they can automatically charge you every month, which is ridiculous for a compass app. On top of that, the price of said subscription is absurdly high! You're better of buying a smartwatch with free compass function!

Very well thought-out compass app. Having tried several compass apps, this is hands-down the best, with excellent extra features. Calibration & customizations are simple to do. My only quibble is 99c/month for an app I only use occasionally - I avoid subscription apps as much as possible, and this isn't an exception. If it were a one-off payment $5-$10 I wouldn't hesitate.

The app is great. However if you want to get rid of ads, there is a 7 day trial after which your subscripton renews at $23 A WEEK!! , which is a crazy, rip-off price to remove ads. No other features are added except ad removal, despite their claims and responses. Would be great app if they didn't expect to rip you off by getting rid of ads. I hate ads, and usually pay to remove them from the app and support the developer, but I'm not spending $100 a month for a Compass app!

I do not understand all the 4 and 5 star reviews. This app is literally unusable because of all the invasive advertisements. Before you even get the application open, FIVE advertisements pop up, and it's almost impossible to close them. To avoid these advertisements, the developer wants $15 PER WEEK. That's $60 per month. Absolutely not. If zero stars were an option, that's what I would rate this application.

This developer has taken to ruining its basic apps for profit. Used to be great! Didn't need to worry about ads or wait a long time to load, but now there are constant popups and banner ads, all of which can be removed for the high high price of $14.99 per WEEK. This is a survival tool, not a game. Find something else without ads.

I thought this app was something that was from the phone since it was always there when I got a new Motorola. It worked perfectly. Then suddenly there is ads all over and it cost a ridiculous amount to have add free. $15 a week for what? What a rip off. Too bad. I wish it would go back like before. It was great for years. Now it's terrible.
