Reviews for Contacts+

← Back to Contacts+

This used to be a great app but version 6 sucks. All the customization features that used to be a part of the app are now gone. Even those of us who bought the pro version years ago for the ability to customize the themes have lost the ability to do so. Now you only have the choice of a generic light or dark them with no option to customize them. You can no longer swipe from sms, to call logs, to dialer, you now have to tap the icons on the bottom of the screen. This may not seem like a big deal but it does make navigating the app more difficult than it was before. You can no longer choose the icon size for your contacts or change whether they are in list or grid view. Now favorite contacts are large icons in a grid view with a list of the rest of your contacts following with smaller icons. I've heard you have more options if you sign up for their cloud contacts but as I host my own cloud option for my contacts I don't want or believe I need to sign up for a service just to be able to sort my contacts on my phone. This is nothing more than the developers using the app to push people to their services whether people need or want them. After having loved this app for years, I'm now looking for a new contacts app.

Lost my no ads version! I purchased the silver ad free upgrade years ago when it was one payment but now it asks me to upgrade again with the new subscription plan. I read recent reviews with the same issue and went to the Web page to contact the team. I followed the prompts and ended up with a message that essentially redirects me round the system. Not impressed! oops The page you were looking for doesn't exist You may have mistyped the address or the page may have moved

There is nothing more irritating than paying for an App and supporting a company that decides to charge there customers for a new service after they have paid for something. The least they can do is take into account that paying customers got them there in the first place... in other words, don't charge the the loyal customers(or keep the old version that was working good, updated and make it exclusively available to the people that paid for it and supported Contact Plus)

I now have this app. Update sucks! I have multiple email accounts that I access for others signed into my phone, in the past I could back their contacts from populating to the app... Not anymore. And if you tell me I can do it from online and not from the app that is even worse. The reason for an app is so I don't have to go online all the time. I'll be finding a new app.

Latest update made the user interface more difficult. Switching to different contact list now requires more keystrokes. Cannot decrease contacts list line spacing. Cannot get rid of the "Favorites" or "recently called" block. REQUIRES usage of their own dialer, but I have other important apps that REQUIRE usage of the Google phone dialer. You cannot search for contacts via street address. Other contact managers allow search on almost anything in the record. Will probably uninstall.

I decided to try Contacts+ again, half a year after the release of the 6th version, hoping that some problems are gone. Nope, still pretty terrible. The contract group filter does not work, but shows all contacts, instead of a specific selected group, though you choose just this group in settings. Icons are constant size, can't make them bigger. Only two themes, light and dark, no colour options, as it used to be. All in all, quite bad. Back to True Phone for me. Won't try this garbage again

Still waiting, and this is very long wait. --- Hello team, i am still waiting for this issue to get resolved. I bought this product 5 days ago, and nothing happend. Paid the bill and the version showing on my apps is still "Free". Did following: uninstalled / reinstalled. checked around for any option - none. I have registered this issue with support and no action till date. Usually it should have been automatic upgrade to "Pro" once I paid the bill. Don't understand the UI design.

So I have been a long time user of this contacts app, but for a while now it's just not saved any new contacts. On top of that, the premium version of this app is ludicrously expensive. £97 per year! That's the same price as a Netflix subscription for a contacts app on a phone. I don't know exactly where you people get off thinking that is in any way reasonable or rational for an app like this. You can get fully fledged desktop software for less than that. I could get Microsoft 365 sub for that!

It's not bad, but it could be a lot better. Personally, I like that my contacts, calls, and messages are all in one app. A few issues and suggestions: I can't set this app as the default app in my phone's settings for spam, dialer, and contacts. It's only available in the Messages section. More options for customization and settings would be great. Also, the anti-spam needs some improvement and it is not clear how to delete the call history!

As multiple other users, previous update made my account (for which I've paid years ago) same as the free one, and after contacting the support and receiving 6.0.8 update, that was fixed. However, the only thing close to the previous paid membership is just not having ads. Most of the options for customizing are still gone, and app is nowhere near close to it's functionality as it used to be. The subscription price is extremely unreasonable - $100 a year for a contacts app? The entire MS Office 365 suite is cheaper than that.

Used to be a great app. I was happy to have paid for the functionality. But with the new update, I lost all of this and now you try to force me to pay 100 $ a year for this!!! I'm sorry, but such an increase is not justified. You just lost a customer. Update: no Ads are shown anymore and functionality remains as before (I used to have the paid version). Thanks for this improvement.

I am using the app as a paid version user for many years. Today, I was requested to log in and after I managed to do it I found out that I have been downgraded to a basic (free) version user, losing all the extra features I was using up to now and having all my settings reset. Totally unacceptable! I have to change my original rating to one star. I leave here my original review since 2015: Best Contact & Dialer app you can find if you don't like the standard android contacts app. Handles all contacts from sim, phone, google, facebook and many more. If you want you can merge them so that you don't have many different entries for one person. I would like to have dual sim support by choosing the sim to use for call or sms each time

What a sad story. In the 8 years I've been using it, the only significant 'feature' added is a subscription pricing model. Boo. They've also removed call reminders. Boo. Contact+ is dead. There is nothing new. There have been unresolved bugs since the day I started using it, and no improvements. This application doesn't support the modern RCS messaging standard. It is time for me to find a replacement. I'm updating my rating from 4/5 to 1/5.

I bought the pro version of this app back in 2015; never had any issues - it got the job done, had the features I needed, was ad-free and convenient. The current "new" version has ads (my account was reset to free status), an ugly interface and artificial limitations (number of contacts). And all that without any further notice before this switch was going to happen. A phone/contacts app is something to rely on for a long time, which I cannot really on this one. Apologies, you lost a customer.

Great app - apart from the fact I just got a shock bill from my phone provider. It turns out that if you send a group message, it defaults sending it as a MMS! So at 21p a message, it clocks up quick! (this was just a plain text sms). I found an option to disable this in the settings, but I'm not impressed at the fact its turned on by default (seems a silly feature, seeing as you could just send the same message multiple times, to each person on the list, at the cost of nothing!) UPDATE: now it keeps sending multiple SMS's each time. People are telling me I'm spamming them with anything from 5 to 20 of the exact same message. Uninstalling, as I can't have it going that :(

EDIT: It has been TWO YEARS since I was told the two features I was looking for (being able to send more than one attachment /photo in the same text, and being able to schedule texts) were being worked on. These are very basic features that were available in my stock Samsung texting app. But they still aren't available, and no word that they will ever be. I'm giving up. I don't think these devs are truly interested in making their app useful or competitive with other similar apps. Bye. ---------------------- I find myself using the stock messaging app because I often want to attach two or more photos to a text, and this app won't let me do that. So then I have to go into the stock app, which means I have to change the default app, and I'm so tired of doing that, that I just use the stock app now. Also I'd like to be able to "schedule" texts like I can from the stock app. But the sending multiple attachments is a real issue, and I don't get why the app has this limitation. The devs responded more than a year ago saying these items were on the to-do list, but I have yet to see any hint of being able to text more than one image at a time. As a result I've been using a combination of other apps. Wish I could go back to Contacts +. Downgraded to 3 stars until this is added.

I had previously called this "a beautiful, streamlined app" but years later I struggle to find a use for Contacts+ partly because Google has a lot of features already built into their system. For some reason, alerts for group messages takes me to a page with no names on it. I don't like bubble popups so I turn those off. You can adjust text size and some other options, but there's not much after that.

Update 2018: Still my most favorite contacts app. The only thing I can think of from the top of my head that would make it better would be being able to send sms and getting notification on a pc. Review from 2015: New version isn't that good. All social networking links gone. Long press dial/sms doesn't work. Also double tapping from speed dial to do sms doesn't work. Considering switching to something else but I will stick around a while and see how it goes.

Update: Nov 5, 2019 I just went to use this and it's all different. No way I can see for access to my groups. Contacts are gigantic bubbles that take forever to scroll through. There's a clock icon on the left of the screen that does nothing when you tap it. It's lost touch with my Google account because it says my browser doesn't support JavaScript. What is it doing using JavaScript? That's been deprecated for how long? I've been using this for several years and this has never been an issue. If it can't access my account, it's useless. The only reason I changed my rating to 2 stars is that it has call blocking. Otherwise no better than any default messaging app. While I'm at it, I'd love to get rid of the ads, but the subscription must have been priced by a madman. The only app I could find that will reorient the screen horizontally! Lots of configuration options. Unobtrusive popups.

Kinda scammy. I paid for the "gold" or "premium" or whatever it was called at the time upgrade maybe 5 years ago, only for them to suddenly decide that payment doesn't cut it anymore unless I got grandfathered into a plan without realizing it. They're moving to a subscription model, you see. Moreover, if you want literally more than a single account to be synced, that will also be a bill. The app works fine but this payment scheme is more like a payment scam tbh.
