📄 Complaint: Contacts Not Showing When Searched Subject: Contacts not appearing in search results Dear Support Team, I am facing an issue in my phone’s Contacts and Dialer app. When I search for any saved number or name, some contacts do not appear in the search results — even though they are already saved in my phone...

← Back to ContactsCall history logs are shown very less. Previous history of call logs that were contacted, we cannot find them, because after the major update the call history record is shown very less due to which we miss many numbers that were useful for us. Kindly add more memory to recall in the history of call logs.
"Get the most out of your Phone app Some features require permission to use your microphone even though they don't use it to listen to you. To let the Phone app use your mic, swipe down from the top to open Quick Settings, then tap Mic access." i get this error even ive check all the permissions. im not able to call anyone
Pretty standard contacts software; not bad at all, but somehow it's gotten less useful. For instance, it used to highlight my contacts' birthdays, but it no longer does that (even though the birthdays are still recorded in contact information).
New version is quite a downgrade. It's missing the Alphabet scroller in the contacts list that true previous versions had. Also having to switch to contacts and then scroll past the favourites to get to the full list is a tedious time waste too. I'd happily switch back to the old version if it were possible.
I wish searching for names would be easier. For example, if the names ABCD are in a row, if I type in just CD to search, the names won't appear. I have to type AB to get the names. If this can be fixed, it would be perfect. Now I have to find a third-party app to fix this problem when searching for contact names. Please fix this and take action. Thank you.
Basically fine BUT: Calling cards does NOT work! I finally got the feature and applied calling cards to several of my most-used contacts..... but during calls with said contacts, I just get the same old default call screen! No calling cards even though I've set & saved them! That's unacceptable!
absolutely rubbish since for some reason you got rid of contacts from the bottom right on the bottom menu and made it somewhere as a small little button near the top merged in with useless info. As is favourites. I mean the contacts app is called contacts yet that seems to be absolutely irrelevant to the app. Probably the worst update to an app ever! and before you ask no, this is my feedback, I'm not going to type it all again somewhere else. take it on board from here. it didn't need changing!
The new look os ok, but the ease of use is worse than before. It was easier and faster to go into the contacts part for example. Ther some bug too. The contact sorting option does not seem to work. And the option to choose where i want to see the contacts from (sim card or google account) is missing, as well as the one to only show contacts with phone number.
Last update (1,2 days ago) Call history is not showing the updated call list. Last call(s) not listed in call log. Its a strange thing. While clearing call history, it doesn't take affect. It worked on 3rd time on repeated tries. I reboot the phone to check if the certain changes of last update would take affect. But nothing changed. Plz look into these issues for an early resolve. I am using Vivo V23 5g handset. Its perfectly functional with Android 14 OS in 🇵🇰.
Unable to call from Contacts, after recent update. Whenever I search for a contact in the 'contacts' app and try to place a call, it tells me to go to settings and give Mic permission. I have checked and there is no option to add Mic permission to contacts app. Now the contacts app has become useless for calling. I've to always use the 'Phone' app to make calls. This is a pathetic change!
You'd think it was simple, but it keeps mixing personal contacts (that I only want stored on the device) in with a shared Google account. Complete nightmare separating them out again, then they get uploaded again unintentionally. The unclear account settings options don't help. The same thing happens on an iPhone as well. If you have a Samsung, it may be best to stick to their contacts app, particularly if you want to switch between multiple accounts and device.
The app helps organize contacts, however, some of the recent updates are just not desirable. Specifically, photos are automatically placed even though I had a self-selected photo. The "more fields" layout is not clean and easy as it was previously. Lastly, the app automatically merges contacts even though they are different people. For instance, if I have someone named Bob and add another Bob, the app merges the two. Good luck unmerging them! Lots of annoying inconveniences.
Automatic deleting of contacts, since a couple of months i am facing this issue. When i save the contacts in my linked Gmail account, the contact is saved. But after some time, the contact is deleted, and when i search the contact, it shows the name of contact, but when i try to open it, it says 'no contact found'. I would appreciate if the developer can look into this issue.
I don't know why, but this is the first time I've had MAJOR Issues while using this app. Apparently, "my contacts don't exist". Also, my contacts won't sync. Also, I can't change the contacts permissions, either, as no permissions are denied. It's extremely frustrating that when you get a new phone (Pixel to Pixel), your basic phone features (such as the Contacts app) DON'T Work! I can't edit my contacts at all. And, they are all messed up, too!
The app is useful and is easy to use. The only complaint that I have is that the new update made the process of editing contacts harder. Before when you need an more fields, there was a button you could click that would bring up all of the other field types at once, and if you needed an additional field for something you could press a button to add it. Now, when you need more fields, you have to select them, there is no button that opens them all at once anymore.
I am incredibly disappointed that this app was changed recently. The app had been very easy to use, was set up beautifully, and was intuitive. now it sucks. I want my favorites where they were, on their own page. It was so easy just to swipe back and forth between my favorites and my contacts. now I have to jump through a few hoops just to get to the contacts, and the favorites are a tiny icons at the top that I have to side scroll to find. ridiculous. fix this app!
The new update sucks! With the previous version, when you were doing a search in the contacts, it was a much deeper search pulling info from every detail of a contact (even the notes section). It would also start pulling up suggestions with every letter you entered into the text box. I don't think they could have messed this up more even if they tried!
Looked fine before August update with Material 3 expressive. Now looks cluttered. Hate the boxes around each contact. Same as Microsoft, you don't really own your device. They can change whatever they want and not give you the option to change it back. You have to have a phone nowadays but be forced to find a third party app to stop Google's customization of your phone.
this new update changed how favorites are configured without asking. I'm a senior that has to wear glasses and the small print and line configuration is difficult to use. I had my family on favorites, with their pictures, set up so all I had to do was tap their picture. Now I can barely see their picture and have to scroll to find them. This was a Very poor move by Google, but like all things no one asks consumers or age groups.
