Reviews for Conversations (Jabber / XMPP)

I’ve been testing several XMPP client for my private ejabberd server (19.05), conversation is the one that worked straight after installation. Love OMEMO and File upload integration. Unless I mistaken it’s just missing a view of the shared roster. Great job 👏

App is pretty good and open source, which is awesome. It has some space for improvement, but the open encryption protocol, custom servers and open source implementation make this app the choice, if you care about privacy.

Just perfect! I thought we have no xmpp survival after google dropped xmpp support and it might have died bad death. To my suprise this software is still there are except few. Options like deleting texts and modify too many contacts everything seems to be at par. Hope these are planned!

After I updated my phone (Pocophone F1) to Android 10, the notification alert is stop and not alerting me anymore. Hopefully you will lookup into this. [FIXED] Feb 7 2024 update seems to have broken sending attachments. They are received as unencrypted and can’t be opened by receiver EDIT: Speedy response to the above issue. Now works well. Excellent service.

OTR IS NOT SECURE ANYMORE, FOLKS! USE OMEMO INSTEAD!!!!! OTR was busted several years ago alongside the key-type that it requires, SHA-1, which is now also insecure. It just works, and works well. Extremely low battery usage. It can take a little navigation to find your barcode to show new contacts. The app is great when other people have the requirements for video chat – no desktop Linux software packages do sadly (Ubuntu 20.04).

Garbage. Difficult to understand and I was never able to connect to my work group on Spark.

THE VERY BEST XMPP CHAT CLIENT. I’ve hosted XMPP for over 3 years and this app is still best of many clients. Very stable. If you dont like the new design the old design was up until v2.14.2 so go geet it boi!

Why can’t i see the online status of my contacts in the contacts list? My chat clients have had this feature since ever, but this one requires me to go into a single contacts details, and then the status if only shown if the dynamic tags are activated.
