Much better than the weekly club recipes imo. Loved the malted blueberry muffins and overnight oats, excited for the shortrib sodabread for hubs bday. For now, its worth the cost of their weekly club sub just for access to the books. Kinda disappointing how expensive many of the recipes come out to tho.
Reviews for Cookbooks by Sorted Food
← Back to Cookbooks by Sorted FoodUI looks great and I love the idea. Would rate a 5 but none of the recipe images are loading for me (using a Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra and have reinstalled the app and logged in multiple times. Internet is also fine, so have to assume its an issue with the app).
Fantastic selection of cookery books. Easy to follow and always something new to try. A perfect companion to the excellent weekly youtube videos. I have picked up so many little tips a tricks from these guys
It crashes the moment I open either of the two free books. Which are the only ones I can afford. But I literally can't get far enough to read any of thr recipes. The app crashes immediately.
Not worth the money. Had it for a month and I couldn't find one recipe that made me want to make it. Everything is either boring or pretentious. The app design could be better as well. Too minimalistic so it lacks some basic functionalities like filtering by time or dietary restrictions. The old books at least have some interesting food combinations but the new ones are basically Buzzfeed trash. Save your money and use proper cooking websites
Can't even see the recipes after purchacing membership. Registered, put in my cc details and bought the membership. Clicked on recipes. It says "hey, wanna try it for free?". Uhmm, what? It offered me to buy a subscription. What the hell did I just purchased then??? Went into the website with same results. It seems that you need to buy one membership just to access the other section of the app to be aligible to purchase another membership. After 20 minutes of clicking I cancelled it alltogether
Easy to use. The books open you up to a world of food you might not have thought about. I've found a few things I was intimidated to cook in the past, as well as new ideas, and they make it manageable. I've loved Sorted for years and I'm excited for future books as well!
Is all great but alot of these recipes aren't on sidekick so I'm unable to use the planner. It'd be better if both apps are linked somehow so that the recipes I favourite in the cookbooks app also show up in the sidekick app and vice versa. Or better still, add all the cookbook recipes to sidekick.
Having several cookbooks available in your phone is so convenient. I find it so wonderful to go straight from work to the supermarket and decide on what to cook on the way and know exactly what to buy. It saves a lot of planning time
Very handy, would love a search option, especially for recipes that have 2+ components. Say I want to make the mashed potatoes recipe but not the sausage with it, I'd love to be able to search potatoes and have that recipe pop up.
I love the visuals and the recipes. The convenience of access to all the books is very good. Unfortunately I find some crucial elements of the apps don't seem to work. Particularly the widget to close the chapter is unresponsive and the settings links don't seem to work either.
Great collection of cookbooks that are really easy to follow. You can favourite recipes and build up your own cookbook too which is a great feature! There are a lot of recipes available for a vegetarian diet or recipes that can be easily amended which is fantastic for me.
The user experience is good and pretty intuitive. Sometimes the app hangs on opening and I have to force stop it then reopen it. It is desperately, DESPERATELY lacking a search feature. I've got silver chicken defrosted, now I need to look through each book to find recipes that might have chicken in them 🤷 Edit: they listened and there is now a search function! Good job 👍
Do we get the CBA3 as well or have the books stopped coming to this app? Mostly great app, but I would like to be able to add notes. For example, my fudge came out like a brick: completely solid and almost impossible to eat. Seems like whatever chocolates I used, the quantities have to be tweaked by a lot so I would like to leave notes for those tests.
Very nicely done app with awesome books by Sorted. The visuals are good as well - if you just want to browse. If not, then the only thing missing is some kind of search feature - sometimes you remember a recipe you'd like to cook but you can't remember in which book it was, then it can get a bit annoying as even within the book, you can't order stuff/search.
I genuinely enjoyed the free preview of all the books when I first signed up. The recipes were playful, fun and so well thought out! It feels like there is really something for everyone. I would love to purchase this in the future, but the difficulty of a lot of the recipes in the books are sourcing out the ingredients in Singapore, which tend to be expensive. Hopefully, future books could be more streamlined using stuff that's more easily available worldwide instead of just in UK or EU.
I wish there was an option to buy digital versions of the cookbooks, to have access to through the app, rather than paying the monthly subscription. Some of your cookbooks are no longer in print (how we cook). I'm not going to use the packs app, and I'm unlikely to listen to the podcast, so I'm paying 4.99 a month to read maybe 2 or 3 cookbooks once a week. I appreciate you're a business, but this puts up a lot of barriers for your average customer.
The app is very user friendly and the recipes are great. You mostly have unlimited access to each of the books and can easily save the recipes to your favorites for quick retrieval. There is a delay in accessing recipes from the newest book, but that just builds a bit of suspense. The app is designed so that browsing the recipes has some of the same enjoyment you gain from flipping through a physical cookbook. Also, perfect for traveling!
I can't sign in. I hate to leave a bad review because I love all your video content, and I was so excited to explore this app, but I can't get past the sign in page. I have a subscription through the sidekick app, but when I tried to sign in on this app it just sits there. It doesn't say I entered the wrong password or anything. So disappointing, not to mention I'm paying for a subscription without being able to access half the content.
It's really nice to have all the Sorted books in one place, especially if you were late to join the club and missed a lot of them coming out! There are a ton of options to choose from to make. I think we might lose a bit by having it in this form, like why each recipe is on people's bucket lists, but the practically of having all the recipes in one place is very nice!
