This app is amazing. I just got it set up. My goal is to stop waisting food and spending so much money on groceries. A couple of things I've noticed so far that I wish were better: I wish that when creating a recipe, we can credit a website or business name of who came up with the recipe. The other thing is that we are big on tracking our macros. It would be helpful if the nutrition facts broke down what ingredient is creating the macro number. Other than that, so far, I think it's great.
Reviews for Cooklist: Pantry & Cooking App
← Back to Cooklist: Pantry & Cooking AppCould use some improvements! So I really like the idea of this app and it has some really great features but could use some improvements. I have a lot of recipes that I would love to add but I do not want to spend the time typing in the intirer recipes. It would be nice if you could just snap a picture of the recipes and it is added to your list of recipes. Also for people on a budget it would be great to add store like Aldi, LidlL, Sam's club, Costco, save a lot, and trader Joe's.
This app is fantastic! I really do love it, it's convenient and through. However, giving 3 stars because originally set my settings to be both vegan and low-carb (a very tricky combo) and was thrilled with the recipes. I accidentally tapped them off and now I have to pay to turn them back on! Now I must personally make sure every vegan recipe is low-carb, meaning I spend WAY more time looking through recipes than I'd like to.
I found this app recommended by a social media user to help with budget planning and meal prep. Its definitely missing some features, or if it has them I have no idea how to make it work. For example: I'm cooking for one and then I eat the leftovers. I want to plan out which days I'm cooking and which ones I'm eating leftovers. I have not figured out how to add my leftovers to my lunch or dinner categories in the meal plan. Some of the missing ingredient suggestions are way off.
This app is perfect, amazing, outstanding! I've been looking for an app for so long that would help me with everything I need when it comes to feeding my family. I don't usually write reviews (ever) but this app is by far the best combo of recipes, inventory, meal planning, shopping list, it has it all! I'm someone who struggles every day in life. This app makes me want to go though my house and scan everything! I could go on but go ahead and try for yourself. Sync your stores as well!
Love it so far! Does everything for me, it's linked to my grocery shopping so it adds ingredients to my cart, I just check out. Then my pantry is automatically updated with my food purchases and the quantities are depleted as I cook. I know what I've got and I know what I need. It even keeps track of other household products like beauty products or paper products. Really awesome app!
The app is amazing, I love the idea they have going. Very beneficial, the added featers are pretty neat as well. I gave it the rating I did because I did not like how I have to pay in order to save more than 3 receipts. Probably won't use this app as much as I would have because of that. I understand needing to make money off this, but if we could just save unlimitly without paying (like all other apps), then this would be a Gold Star app!
Love the concept and most of the way it works. Would love it if you guys added more stores. My primary store is Aldi, but it is not available here. I've also been having issues with the "my recipes" tab. When trying to edit/remix recipes that I've imported, the edits don't save. Upon closing the app and reopening, it goes back to the way it was before.
Really good inventory app! I love that I can link it to my Walmart shopping and it automatically adds everything to my pantry. The only downside is not being able to count items in percentages over ONE. So if you have a whole bag and another HALF bag of say, pizza rolls, you have to input TWO. But once you get to ONE, you can start subtracting used portions in 10% increments. I'd also like to do butcher cut meats like ground beef in POUNDS. But other than that minor issue, I'm loving this app.
This is a decent pantry manager/ meal planning app that is relatively easy to use. Which isn't saying much because if/when I find a better one I'll switch for the reasons I'm about to list. First, frequently recipes don't import correctly and I have to edit after import. Secondly, there is no web interface, only the app and while the app is good and handy. I much prefer meal planning from my computer so not having web access is a big disadvantage.
Just started using it, and I really like it so far. I love that I can filter recipes by what I have in my pantry. A few things I'd like: let me shop at Meijer. Some way to track leftovers. When you say you cooked a recipe and it asks if you want to update your pantry, start with the ingredients from the recipe you cooked. Some way to better handle meal prep or food preservation, such as canning or freezer meals. Overall, a good app. Just could use a few more facets.
$65???? Ummmm, no. I haven't used it once, and can't find a number or contact info to reverse the money it took. UPDATE-I erased the last half of this post because of the swift action of Cooklist in refunding what was ultimately my error. I'm changing my rating to 5 stars due to the honorable way in which they dealt with my issue. Twin teenage daughters are expensive, else I would subscribe.
super helpful for keeping on top of things we have in the pantry, making shopping lists, and meal planning! I am a little disappointed at the small amount of stores to choose from when making a shopping list, as none of those stores are really in the area I live in. this app has seriously helped me organize the kitchen though, and I'm so happy to report while using this app, I don't ever think I'll need to ask my partner "what do you want for dinner?" because the meal planning is so easy.
it's a good app, but it lags a fair bit more than I would expect, like every 3 new items I add or remove I can scroll and it'll take almost a full minute before I can add something else, while still being able to scroll. I do like the massive volume of recipes available tho, it's a variety from different cultures and difficulty levels. Love the concept and content of the app, just needs a tiny bit of adjusting membership price is kind of insane tho, $60 is a lot for any app tbh
App lags so much. Constantly freezes when making changes to my pantry, updating food amounts/removing things I don't have anymore is infuriating. More than half of the time the app will not detect inputs until several seconds later. Sometimes, it doesn't detect them at all, completely unresponsive to clicks to remove an item. Extremely frustrating. Want to like the app, and it seemed good at first, but the cracks are showing and I don't know if I can continue using it until it's fixed.
Day 7, trial ended and I was billed. im only planned 1 week free to try it. Right now I'm trying to plan the week and build a grocery list. The app is very slow and locks up. I'm using a Samsung Galaxy Ultra which should have no issue. I'm also the CEO of a tech company so I'm familiar with software development. The app has a lot of potential to be better. It certainly can be faster it the data and API side was more efficient. The layout is very baggy, interacting with thr UI requires waiting. T
I downloaded the app because it was advertised as easy to use. After navigating through the "try the free trial! We'll notify you before it's time to pay" area that is unskippable: You have to click through it and get up to agreeing for the free trial before the X appears where you can cancel out of it; you are then faced with linking your grocery store accounts. I tried navigating through it as well because I don't have any accounts to link, but the only option was to put in my zip code anyways
I am disabled and have caregivers to manage my house. App is no longer connecting to my chosen grocery store's system (Fry's Food Store). it is no longer able to retrieve the list of groceries I've purchased. I haven't been able to import for the last two months. I generally have too many items to list and photo manually. This app is no longer working for me. If it would reconnect and import my purchases, I would restore my previous rating.
Honestly very unreliable. I've been subscribed for over 2 years and suddenly the app stops working right after I spent an hour setting up meals and shopping lists for the next 3 weeks. Can't access my lists or recipes. Now I have to start from scratch with pen and paper to go shopping while I pay for an unreliable service? Canceling if not fixed by end of today.
This app is perfect if youre willing to spend $60 (USD) per year. after signing up, I skipped subscribing, and was tempted by the follow up trial price of $1.99/month for the year. Still skipped subscribing to try the free version. all of the filters except for diet were blocked. However, I will compliment this app for the filter categories and recipes I could see. biggest feedback: at sign up, make adding stores optional. make adding at least 3 ingrdients required to continue
