Reviews for Credit Sesame: Grow your score

This isn't to help you improve your credit - it's a mall for credit card companies to bait you. I've paid off several thousand dollars in credit card debt and personal loans, and for the first time have good credit. This app is telling me to take out MORE cards (like the several I have aren't enough?!) Luckily I've learned alot over the past several years and won't bite, but I am worried for people who may think this company wants to help. It clearly does not.

This app is unbelievably weird. I used this app for aproximately 8 weeks. logging into it about once a week to monitor my score and credit options. Then one week I tried to login as usual with my passcode # and a "Your session has timed out" error message appeared. So I tried several more times to login to the app with no success receiving the same error message everytime. So I tried logging into the app with my email and password. The results were the same. Awaiting an answer from devs on issue!

My credit score jumped over 60 points in the first month. I am absolutely ecstatic about this app, wonderfully made, easily understood, easy to use and navigate and most important of all in my opinion, it does what it says, it raises your credit score not only by 1/2pts, but a substantial amount that matters each time! I've tried several other apps, they're pitiful in comparison. hardly increased score,if at all. Credit sesame for the win! Me for the win! Thanks credit sesame! So grateful!

Been using Credit Sesame for just under a year. Overall it is a decent app and has numerous tools to help guide you towards financial freedom. HOWEVER, I have not been able to link it to any other app such as PayPal, venmo, cash app, klover, money lion, western union... I can go on & on. It is very frustrating. It is the account my paycheck is direct deposited in into but I am unable to verify that for any app. This may be a deal breaker if I can't get it resolved soon.

I'd like more to date credit scores from all three credit bureau's. Make them clearer and show the specific differences in the credit reports. What stands out more between the different bureau's. Meaning, what creditor reports that are not on all three and highlight those specific items. That would be helpful. During the day, there are many distractions and that would make for easier understanding.

Credit Sesame is helpful at keeping track of your credit score for free. It also gives you advice on how to get that score up really quick. Like 50 points in 1 day(that's not typical but is definitely possible). I love that this app gives you lots of options as well as shows you examples regarding what would probably happen to your score should you miss a payment or 2 as well as if you made a few extra payments on a bill.Very Helpful.

It's great that we get a transunion credit score. I understand your marketing strategy cuz you got to make some kind of profit. Gave us one credit score for you if you want the other two you got to pay for it + any other services. At least you provide one credit score which better than none. I've searched for apps that state they'll give you free credit reports, not true.

This app is easy to use and gives me an overview of my credit history. However, it is only updated once a month (unless I opt for the up-to-date information but there is a fee for that service). Can't wait for next month's credit score to come out since I sold a house and no longer have two open mortgages. most importantly, this app gives me credit alerts. That was extremely helpful when I discovered my identity was compromised last week! I spent over six hours on the phone!!

It looks organized with all the information I need in one app. My issue though is I signed up for the free trial expecting to fully start paying the $10/mo for all 3 scores updated daily. I couldn't view any of the scores except the free one during this trial. I had to "convert my account" which would take the payment immediately. Where is the 7-day free trial? I canceled and likely won't be using this app. 😬 I was prepared to love it.

This app is just an advertisement for credit cards. The "tips" provided to improve your credit score are misguided as they only ever suggest using loans to pay off credit card debt and opening more credit cards to lower your limit. If you are truly trying to better your credit situation and gain wealth, Credit Sesame is not the way to do it. It's a total joke. Credit Karma is free, provides weekly score updates and provides beneficial tips along with marketing offers.

I loved the app until you updated it. Now it is no longer compatible with my device and you won't allow one to sign in with the older app. I understand "security" but how dumb to start shutting out users with older devices. I refuse to have to get a new device in order to use apps that keep getting more and more bloated....take up more space on devices and use up more RAM. When are you app developers going to get smart and realize that bigger and more flashy isn't always better. Unless you allow the last version of your app to continue to be used, you will have lost me and probably a good share of other users as well.

I have been using other apps for checking my credit so I wanted to give this a shot. It only sees one credit bureau and the rest is "potential" credit score if you sign up for all of the products they are selling. It's mostly ads instead of information. Other apps look at 2 bureaus minimum and give you thorough credit report information. Uninstalled it right after I signed up. Did not like it at all.

Used to like this app. Had an issue where one of my cards reported as overdraft, and it was not. Checked other apps and with the credit bureau. All matched and correct except Credit Sesame. That was not the final straw. When I reached out to Credit Sesame, they refused to look at their own systems as a possible issue. Edit... Idk what to say here. I tell you I've reached out about the issue and you tell me to reach out again... maybe you should read these instead of a bot response.

The app is great overall. It helps me track my credit and gives good suggestions. My only issue is that it does not update the payment history at all really. Says I have 3 late payments and one collection. I have not had a collection for quite some time. paid in full actually. They also still count that as a late payment. Just wish the app was more accurate

These credit-helping apps are wonderful if you're trying to get your credit back together; that was my case. But just know, they don't fix your credit, they guide you through with all of the info you need, basically, how to figure it out yourself. After you get your credit situated (and you know your new credit issues), the best benefit from this app is the credit monitoring. Even though I know I have a bit to go to get myself back up there, Credit Sesame gave me confidence to strive forward.

I love this app. It tells you your current credit score, shows you your credit report, offers credit cards and loan suggestions, tells you how to improve your score based on your specific info, gives credit alerts, shows all your current accounts and your balances and any collections or past due accounts. All for free, and you can get more options for a monthly fee. And so much more.

Never works. I constantly get notifications (at least one a week) but can never log in to check them or get updates on my score. Great idea and helpful when I can log in, but I can RARELY log in. Also, they're going to try to get you to sign up for "affiliate" credit cards, but they're never the best options if you're looking for miles, points, or cash back.

Fairly easy to use. I like the tips they give, that I might consider. Word of caution, don't jump at the credit cards too quickly. It may be a good option, may not, it'syour credit. their job is to recomend. The card choices are also based on the kickback to CS. That doesn't make it bad, just be aware there are a plethora of cards available. CS does your odds of approval which is a definite plus.

So much for 'no fees and surprises.' Credit Sesame is now forcing a monthly fee of $9.99 if you spend less than $1000 per billing period with them. I never agreed to this, and they are ignoring my requests to close my account. So, beware! They will hold your money hostage. Their app and website has also been terribly glitched for me for weeks. Credit Sesame support has done nothing to help me access my inaccessible Sesame Cash account, and is now ignoring all of my messages and phone calls.

Great tool for building and controlling your credit. I started out in January 22' with a 458 credit score. Using this and other company's tools I now have a 640 score; in 6 months!!! I had no idea what a secured credit card was. After continuously being denied for traditional credit cards, and reading what credit sesame was about, I gave it a shot. Best credit decision I've ever made was getting the ball rolling with Credit Sesame. Now I get pre-approved card offers every day!!!!!
