Like everyone else is reporting, this app is no longer functional. Although I get notifications from my Samsung phone that I have voicemail waiting, this app shows none, and when I hit 'refresh' I only get a flashing notification at the bottom saying "No connection". Tried uninstalling and reinstalling but get the same thing. It's too bad because I loved it before this new update essentially caused it to stop working.

Per troubleshooting tips, I deleted cache and data for both the app and play store, and have restarted my phone. Still won't update after several rounds of trying these suggestions. Not the first time I've had this problem. The tips are generic and it seems like a shoddy and/or poorly tested app. Not good.
Doesn't always work. When it does. It sometimes doesn't work like it should. Update "reply to cricket" My software updates automatically That's definitely not the issue. I've cleared cache and data about a thousand times in the last two years. I've also tried all of that along with regular shut off and reboot and making sure that my phone has ample resources like memory. With NO software improvement. If clearly something on my phone was going to work. It would have long before you posted back!!
Terrible app that I was forced to download because even though phones are expensive, voicemail isn't included anymore. Anyway, ever since Cricket, certain phone numbers don't ring and just get automatically sent to this app. Not sure why since they aren't blocked or anything. Then it takes days to receive the message until three more happen. Then they all come at once. Horrible app. Horrible service. The minute I can afford a better company, I'm leaving.
Like that it will convert your voicemail to text sometimes what it writes isn't what the caller said, but it's close enough I get the point. Unfortunately I haven't been able to install the update I keep getting an error message that says can't update hope I'm not missing voicemails due to this. Hope someone can help me with this. 11/7 I have enough space for the update all my other apps are updating, but this one still won't update I'm getting the same error message. Please help.
This app is not very useful. It works, just not very well. Does not bring up discription/text right away. And that is the other thing, is the text is very different from what the voice recording is. If you want a laugh this app can do it when you see what the text reads and what the voice recording says. I use the app just so I don't have to call the voicemail number and listen to the recording to get to the voicemail someone left you. It would be nice if the text issue could be fixed.
Literally does not work. If you were to ask yourself, "What works about this app?" The only answer should be that you can open it. That's it. Nothing updates. Constant "no connectivity" error. Can not access Greetings settings (continuously loads and says "just a moment"). Cricket needs to fix this ASAP as this is the only way to change voicemail settings, no online access through your browser either.
Recently my Avast AV has told me on two separate phones that Visual Voicemail contains malware. Not sure what's that about. Also, for the longest time when playing back a message it plays for two seconds then stops so I have to hit play again for it to continue. I like the app but it's a bit buggy. 2019 and new version = completely broke. Had to reinstall previous version by downloading the apk. Come on devs, you can do better!
It was fine until a recent update or something. Now it scrambles my messages. It pulls up the name of one caller, but displays the message of another. It also says it can't play the audio. I thought it was convenient before and I used it instead of my actual voicemail, but since I've had trouble, I have missed important messages because of technical errors, so I can't trust it anymore. I don't know if that was temporary, but it has certainly happened more than once.
Worst app ever! I've had it for 3 years and it has worked sporadically but transcription has always been terrible, constant uninstall and reinstall to make it work, but since the 8/18 update it won't load at all, I am stuck in a loop that tells me to call voicemail and hang up! If you can't fix this app then you need to allow call forwarding so that I can download a voicemail that works! Since last reinstall it hasnt even tried to transcribe anything!
Doesn't work on my new phone at all. Maybe the app doesn't work on Pie? I just get an extremely detailed error message ("no connectivity" - that's it). Also when it was working on a previous version of Android on my old phone, it would randomly pause the message a few seconds in. The app is super low frills, which is fine. Getting voicemails is super annoying in the first place. But it should do the one thing it needs to do.
I recently upgraded my phone and this app hasn't worked since. With a quick Google search I'm finding plenty of other people saying the same thing. Edit: This problem happened a second time. It seems like every time Android OS updates this app breaks. 2nd Edit: it has been updated and again works, but o fully expect it to break with the next update. This time around it was fixed more quickly than the previous time, at least.
Abysmal. I receive no notification when I have a message until days or even occasionally, weeks later. Then all of a sudden 10 messages will show up. Almost NONE of the messages are transcribed which defeats the purpose of visual voicemail. I tried all of your suggestions multiple times. The app which used to work sometimes...now doesn't work at all after upgrades. I just now was notified that I had messages that are a week old!!
I've had this app for 10+ years now and very little changes if any that I've noticed have been made. Everytime you listen to a voicemail or skip through them, the notification sound goes off constantly. You can't select anything in this app without hearing that sound. You cannot turn that sound off, I've tried. It's only while your in the app going through the different options that it sounds. It's not the voicemail app notification itself. You would think this would be fixed by now.
I, like many others here, had the bug where voicemails would pause after 5 seconds with the previous version of the app. Once you hit play a second time it worked fine though. With the latest update, it doesn't pull in voicemails and instead does nothing on launch, saying you have no voicemails. If you then go to the three dots and go to refresh, "No connectivity" will repeatedly flash across the bottom of your screen until you close/leave the app.
The app is very buggy. Often old transcripts are laid on top of new messages. Every time I restart my phone it tells me I have new voicemails (I do not). Most of the time when I try to "play" a message, it just gives me an error and says it can't. This app is just useless in its current form. If you have Cricket, just call your voicemail box instead
I'm also having the same issue as everyone else. It shows that I have a message but I can't access the message. I would also like to add that when the app did work the "Convert to Text" feature was a joke. It rarely converts the message to text properly. However, I did like the convenience of accessing my voicemail messages from the app, but that no longer works. *The app is updated to current version, and, I tried clearing the cache and data before posting.
This is a great idea for people with hearing loss, like me. Being able to see what's being said is helpful. However, the text, every time, has gaps or incorrect/mispelled words. And recently, my voice-mails have even started overlapping each other, with the text from new messages getting buried under text from an old message. Not sure what can be done, and I'd really rather not uninstall and reinstall the app. I only have 6 saved messages, but it's important that I keep them.
When I disabled this app and bring it back, it works fine. But when it gets up dated it's so hard, frustrating, to listen to messages. After four seconds, it shuts off. Or move the phone, it shuts off the message. Plus I have to double click the start symbol and double click speaker symbol to get them to work. Most of the time I have to do this two or three times to listen to messages. Very frustrating!! Update: After writing this, I had a pop up telling me how to correct this problem with changing the voicemail phone number. So we will see. Update: as long as this app doesn't update, it works good. Changing the voicemail phone number didn't matter. I had metro PC's for many years. Never no problems with voicemail. Voicemail is important to me. Maybe I should go back to metro pcs.
My service was forcefully transferred to a Cricket Outlast phone. Ever since I've experienced nothing but problems one being the visual voicemail not delivering messages. I saw calls come through and was expecting calls but could never understand why I wasn't getting voice messages. I had to go to the menu and manually refresh. It's Friday and I had messages from Monday come through. I just missed an important medical call that I know should have left a VM but the app isn't refreshing. Fix it.
