So here's my take on Cruce Directo Garitas. I've tried out a bunch of different border crossing apps and this one is probably the most reliable and user-friendly. The real-time updates are actually pretty accurate most of the time, which is key. And the interface is simple and easy to use, you can quickly see which crossing has the shortest line. Not gonna lie, it's saved me from getting stuck in a huge backup more than a few times. My only real complaint is that the app can be a little buggy sometimes and the wait times don't always match up perfectly with reality. But overall, if you need to cross the border regularly, this is definitely worth downloading.

Cons

  • Wait times aren't 100% accurate all the time
  • Can be a little buggy, app crashes occasionally

Description

Been using Cruce Directo Garitas for a couple months now. It’s basically an app that lets you check the wait times at the border crossings between Mexico and the US. Pretty solid if you’re someone who crosses the border a lot.

There’s cameras set up along the border that give you live updates on where the lines are the shortest. So you can check the app and see which crossing has the quickest wait time and go there instead of wasting time in a long line. It’s got a bunch of different border crossings you can check too, not just one or two.

Look, if you cross the border regularly, whether for work or just trips, you’ll probably find this app really useful. It’s not perfect – the wait times aren’t always 100% accurate and sometimes the app can be a little glitchy. But overall it does a pretty good job and saves you a ton of time compared to just showing up and hoping for the best.
