I just purchased cubase but i have to even fork out a lot more for the instruments and stuff, when i just wanted to create cool movie and film intros. This app really is making money robbing people
Reviews for Cubasis 3 - DAW & Music Studio
← Back to Cubasis 3 - DAW & Music StudioI'm truly impressed - I never knew my Android phone could sound so good!! The MIDI DAW setup (clicking icons then moving a slider etc.) is a dream & so handy (especially if you record on a phone!). In fact, I'm writing this review after recording "Cry To Me" (from the Dirty Dancing movie) entirely in Cubasis 3 on my phone (including my vocals - singing into my phone!) it's on the internet, I'm sure you'll find it! Thanq for an amazingly powerful musical app.
Complete DAW. I was so impressed I purchased additional effects and instruments. it's somewhat easy to use but I'd recommend checking out the YouTube videos if you're new to DAWs. I'm very happy with my purchase so far.
Awesome system always has been, worth every penny. damn I wish I'm I would have waited a iPhone right after I been doing everything on iPhone n dang that's a pretty penny to double buy
Very powerful, just wish I could import rex or sf2 / sfz files into minisampler, so I spend less time recreating existing instruments I have in other formats so I can use them in minisampler and more time playing them instead.
amazing for skethuch out my projects on the move! With my Z-Fold and Fiverr I was able to map out the rough mix of my song while traveling internationally as the planes now have wifi!! Love having a pocket studio. If they had comp-editing I could do my whole project in here.
Quite good, more so if you use on a Z Fold 6 in tablet mode (which I am) for that extra screen real-estate space. If you're blessed with a Tab Ultra, then the larger than iPad screens must make it a joy to use. However Cubasis is slightly different on Android and also lacks some optional add-on modules such as Waves modules. I was able to purchase these (ie. Waves Autotune) a while back on my Apple devices, but they're not available on Android which is regretful.
The app works okay overall. Some features are tricky. The internet link in the top right menu is too easy to tap by accident. Finding drum samples is confusing at first, and there are no good tutorials. Export only in Wave and requires unzipping. The audio quality feels lower and quieter compared to my microphones Shure Motive app. Worst: It ignores my stereo mic and makes it mono 🫣 Workflow, swiping the app away is inconvenient for briefly use another app. But I like it somehow. Move on :)
I bought the app and all the extras inside and made some great music, spent days making it; but this morning i go to open it up and the app opens to trial version. go to restore purchases said there are no purchases to restore! there is no login screen nothing! I couldn't even find a save option in the freaking app now that I think about it. I just thought it autosaved cause I would open the app and just click on recent session. it's messed up I'm so upset! you guys need to help me like now!!!!
It's a good app for someone who has intermediate to advanced experience with DAW. I like the ad-ons because you can choose just what you need. You don't need to buy it all at once. As for sound, it is modern sounding and the tones are professional quality. It is my go-to phone DAW.
There are glitches when recording audio tracks because there is no option to switch bitrate on the selected audio interface. My USB interface is 44.1, but because Cubasis only uses the generic Android driver, it's forced to upsample from 44.1 to 48khz which causes dropouts and artifacts even for simple audio projects. Audio Evolution app has it's own driver, and once set to 44.1khz has no such issues. Steinberg also still haven't run with AAP as an LV2/VST3 host engine, so no 3rd party effects.
Argh, misled by Googles Ai, it appears you don't have any support for Bluetooth midi devices. I just bought the app and tried to enable my korg microkey in it. The app looks great and I have used Cubase since 1.0 and I had to load it from a floppy disk. I gladly beta test Android bluetooth on it for you.. Hope there are plans on implementing
mixed results. I have it installed on a new Chromebook, new as in July 2025, and while it seems to work fine with smaller files, I do have one file that is still showing in my browsing selection, but when I try to open it the app crashes. the size of the file is approximately 130 MB and contains at least 10 tracks. it's a shame really because there is a lot of work put into this one file. aside from that, it seems to work okay if I just work with small files. not worth the price in my opinion.
the fact you can't import sample folders easily is a killer, the way the media bay works needs some serious attention. Given the app costs a fair amount, its bonkers that this hasn't been addressed. Edit: removed another star as you can't even export the music you make, the app is next to useless if you cant export the music to a user selected folder.
It's steinberg so you already know it's great, but this is by far my favorite audio recording DAW for mobile to date. FL is close to matching but falls short in some areas. The only thing I can complain about is that very rarely I will have some latency issues, but that could be a non-cubasis cause, and the fault may lie with interface hardware.
Amazing App!!! I've been using this for over a year and it is just amazing. I've recorded mixed and mastered about 10 songs on it using a GO guitar interface made to port your guitar through the headphone jack and honestly this app is capable of way more than you would imagine it being capable of it is literally turning my phone into like a very small laptop made for mixing and mastering. There may be a limitation here and there but it's very minimal and most of the time it's user error.
An awesome DAW... When it works. I have a brand new Pixel 6, have had absolutely no problems with any other apps whatsoever, and yet when I find myself pushing over 5 tracks, a crash is never far away. I would love to give a higher rating, but $30 for a very unstable app is... Kind of unacceptable, especially with the respect I have for Steinberg. Please, work on stability!
App works well, but can't access the mixdown files.. which is, you know, sort of important for a DAW.... Some third party file explorers MAY be able to access the correct directory, but this is a bad and unsafe workaround (granting random devs full access to all files on your device), nor does it fix other apps not being able to access the files. As it is now it requires sharing to an external app and then redownloading. This is a bad user experience, please allow user directory choice.
Running on a good tablet (Samsung Galaxy Tab S8+) is a great, and it's well worth the investment, with one major caveat - mixdown exports! When you mixdown for export as a FLAC or WAV, it's saved in a bizarre location in Android data that can only be access by connecting a laptop over USB, seriously?!! Where is the 'export to' option? Is is too much to ask to export files to an accessible folder on the device, or to SD card or to a cloud drive?? Or have I missed that option entirely?!
Works great for the most part. Giving it 3 Stars cause I was under the impression you could record multiple tracks at once and this limitation is not clearly stated in the description. Cubasis is limited to 2 tracks for recording. Purchased to use for recording drums on the go and live shows. For Live I need to record 16ch at once. So for anyone looking to do similar, I suggest checking out Audio Evolution in the app store. Their paid version allows multi-track recording.
