Early days, but so far I'm really happy with the app. Did a canal route and this helped immensely. Once I have a bit of spare cash I will try the full experience. A good app so far so good.. will come back to update once I unlock the plus through subscription, which I must say is reasonable..
Reviews for Cyclers: Bike Navigation & Map
← Back to Cyclers: Bike Navigation & MapThis is especially good for finding alternative quiet routes. The maps are detailed and easy to follow you can save your routes for later use. Can even use abroad e.g. France.
edit2: the ads are almost making this unusable... edit1: not a big fan of the constant subscribe spam of the massively overpriced pro plan... original: But if you are looking for a free app to track your cycling this is the one. as in this one appears to be the only one to let you do actual tracking without paying
Easy to use. Love that you can view different aspects of a trip such as elevation, traffic levels, surface, etc. You can include your bike type to get more accurate timings, e.g. electric. Maps show cycle racks, and for those who want it, your routes can include going down one-way streets the wrong way or using footpaths!
This turned out to be a frustrating app to use. With the phone in my pocket as I cycled, I relied on a Bluetooth headset. So when the app told me to turn right instead of left, or left instead of right, I had to stop, get the phone out and check where I really needed to go. At one point, the app did not draw the route so I had no idea where I was supposed to be going. Another time, as I was cycling along a 1 mile straight road, it kept on saying that it was recalculating the route.
So far so good! I love the ability to set your preferences and it giving you a match score with several options (and the fastest one regardless of preferences). I haven't seen this on other apps. Also you have the ability to set a distance and it will recommend routes around you that match your route preferences and distance. Looking forward to fully testing it out (I got a flat a quarter of the way through my first route with it yesterday)
A great app for biking. Gives lots of safe bike routes with very clear directions. My only complaint: too many time wasting questions about ride rating, save routes, and other annoying factors that really annoy me when all I want is to ride the bike. Otherwise, the best for finding bike routes, just bike routes. Very few whistles and bells: just safe and cool roads for biking for just about anywhere.
For route planning Cyclers outshines rivals like Strava, Google Maps, and Komoot. I ride in a bicycle-hostile area with heavy traffic and no dedicated lanes. This app goes above and beyond to uncover hidden neighborhood routes that other apps simply miss. It's like finding a secret passage while others are stuck in a traffic nightmare. You have full control to customize your routes and preferences effortlessly. I highly recommend Cyclers for a safe and enjoyable ride!
Overall good, it's updated most of the time with the current trails. Sometimes trails don't match with the type of trail the app think it is but usually not a problem. Better than most of the cycling apps. It's major problem is editing routes, no simple way to do it and if done later navigation can be chaotic. It would be awesome to have a Strava link.
Can give you some OK routes but failed both on the free tier and paid at getting me off pavement. The gravel setting, even with the paid option of "prefer unpaved", gave me routes which were 90-100% paved at almost any distance. Even then, the one with the most unpaved miles was the lowest match score... May give it another go in a year or so but as of today, it's rather useless considering shared routes available on other apps.
I love and pay for this app due to how good the routes are compared to Strava. However, when I export gpx after riding to post on other websites, I can't save the file locally (it automatically tries to share it). This means that I have to upload the file or send it somewhere before downloading it again just to upload it somewhere else. As long as they fix that, this app is perfect.
I loved this app and was so excited to purchase it. I had the trial version and the turn by turn navigation worked flawlessly. Now that I have purchased it for $29.99/yr, the navigation stopped working, won't load or play. I have reached out to support several times and they do not respond. Technology is only good if it can be supported. I am so frustrated by the lack of support that I am going to cancel my subscription, hope to get a refund and purchase Komoot. U could use Whatsapp for calls.
I'm starting to think I'll just have to keep using Google Maps and Google Fit to track my ebike adventures (both of which are free). I don't mind paying a one-time fee for a good app, but I'm not interested at all in paying a subscription forever just to use an app on my hardware and data plan. Unfortunately that's the model that most apps (but especially tracking apps) seem to be adopting. Just because "everyone" is going with that model doesn't mean it's good/right. Uninstalling.
First, my husband and I searched for the same route and got different responses; in fact, the route I was offered, the app said he had to get premium for. Then there were three places on the route it gave us that were private driveways, gated, fenced, posted, and it turned out there was no way to get to the lake we were aiming for without going back and taking a much longer route. We're not impressed.
This app is far superior to Strava for cycling ( even the free version ). Creating and editing routes is easy. I have had a few instances of it believing a road is paved when in fact it was gravel ( or just mud ) but considering my area that's understandable. Can easily send created routes to Garmin bike computer. Would be nice in the future if you could just pair devices so rides automatically upload to the app so I don't have to start a ride on phone and bike computer. Perfect for what I need.
The free part of the app used to be pretty good, but over time I've noticed it's gotten worse and worse as they limit the free to use parts. It is also an extreme power hog requiring that the tracking being run (one of the downgrades a while back) while navigation is running. I tried using it again to extend a route, which I used to be able to put in custom lengths, but now it's just a few fixed options and a "you now have to buy for a feature that used to be free."
Ridiculous. Route lines literally cover/obliterate the street name so if you're in a new spot, lotsa luck figuring out where you are withOUT flipping over to an intelligent app. Second, if there are routes saved by others, which would increase your choices, I couldn't find them. Third, actual screen space is permanently devoted to a "games" link. That's when I gave up and uninstalled.
I have had this app for a long time, paid version. usually very good except that sometimes it doesn't catch the address you plug into it. but recently it has been garbage. it isn't showing me the usual routes it normally shows me and instead picks insanely long and weird routes, and ignores the bike trail which exists in my city. something changes for the worse.
This is the best safe cycle route app I've found so far. It gives me the best routes and shows multiple ones as well to choose from if you don't think the first is best. I wish I could get the full lifetime version for like $30 or less, but the free version is still pretty useful. Edit: I find the new routing algorithm isn't quite as good. The preferred route I had for getting to a certain area no longer shows up at all.
I just need an app to get me from point a to point b safely. this is incapable of doing so. It tried to send me through parking lots as if they're streets, down dead end roads, everything but what I need. 90% of the app is useless to me. I don't want a scenic route to the damn grocery store turning a 10 minute ride into over an hour. Judging by its most basic navigational failures, I don't even want to know what the app considers "scenic" They respond by suggesting doing what I phuquing did 🙄
