Looked promising. However upon trying to connect with elm device throws a quick message "connected" and then a quick "loading parameters" and back to device selection screen. Can be repeated indefinitely :(
Reviews for DashOBD
Cannot get this app to connect to my Vgate iCar Pro bluetooth dongle using either Android Auto or my phone. Always states 'No Connection' error, even though another app (Car Scanner) works via bluetooth just fine. Disappointing.
No other app on Android currently allows you to see real-time OBD2 on the infotainment screen in Android Auto. This app has great potential, and although this version only shows numbers and not GUI gauges I hope the developer will be able to add visual gauges in the future
As a long-time user of TorquePro I've been hoping for a replacement that works on AA for years. This app isn't there yet but hats off to the developer, I'll be more than happy to buy it if in the future it can provide the same functionality in a nice graphical package! I'll sure be keeping an eye on this one.
For Suzuki Ignis some values are shown, but most are not working, with OBD2 BT adapter. eg fuel consumption. Would be nice to have a AA split screen option like Spotify, having some parameters just next to navigation.
Currently the only app that works with Android Auto on Version 14. I've not had any issues except it lacks guages, and so the text is hard to read while driving. I'd pay for it if it had guages.
I have the same challenge as many of the other reviewers. My Bluetooth OBDII dongle is working fine (works with Torque Pro), but when I select 'Start Display' in the app after launching the app in Android Auto, I get the error message that it cannot connect to my ODBII reader.
Fantastic work!!! Would love to give 5 stars if we can get widget style monitor rather than text display on Android AUTO. The way it's given in mobile app in the real time data section. Looking forward to the upgrade. All the best.
Disappointing. It puts 2 lines of text on the display, if you want more you need to pay. However I don't think a few lines of text make me happy for the price of the app. Would like some fancy meters om the dash.
Rudimentary. The info display screen is simple text. Unlike Torque Pro, there are no dials or gauges. Update, v2.5: Some saved basic settings. One hard coded gauge display, not helpful for an EV. Entered custom PIDs, none work. Still a no frills display, text only. Overall, this remains basic alpha-ware.
