Reviews for Decibel Meter: Sound Meter App

← Back to Decibel Meter: Sound Meter App

this is easy to use, and if you calibrate it just right, you can get the correct sound

Taking so long to open The interface is a bit primitive. There is no saving option.

Play store says no advertisement in the app while advertisements are being shown in app, what's going on? not recommend to anyone, very disappointed ☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️

Temu inundated ads once installed and really hard to get out of them. the app worked great the one time I tried it, but uninstalled straight away due to the intrusive ads. I can't find the subscription in my account to cancel so hope they don't take my money! Bought in a rush. lesson learnt.

Doesn't go past 90 DB. Was testing on the range, and every gun maxed out at exactly 90 DB, and guns are louder than that. Below 99, seems to work accurately.

Scummy predatory trial - I didn't say scam, I said scum. As in you, are scum, for having a free trial leading to an expensive subscription for a basic app.

Blasts loud unprompted audio ads and the paid version is comically overpriced at US$14 PER WEEK!! Much better alternatives available.

Why on earth would anyone be paying $22 a month for a decibel reader? Why is this a subscription based app? it does one thing, measures volume, it doesn't need constant development and customer service like some apps, it's a one use tool. Never will I ever subscribe to this. outrageous. You can buy a cheap decibel reader from the hardware store for $30 that would work better than this.

We tried it briefly. The cost was prohibitive for occasional use so we cancelled the service. We hope that deleting the app, an email to customer service and this review is sufficient to effect the termination.

Easy to use. Ads are small bars at the bottom and not intrusive. Can get more perks with the paid version, but I like it as is and will pay if needed for the advanced perks

The interface is clunky and requires unnecessary switching between different information views. The look and feel is straight out of the 2000s. Full-screen ads and subscription for what?

DO NOT download this app unless you want to spend $19.94 Canadian a week. This is an insane price. I will try and cancel my subscription through google as the company recommends. I will post again if this does or doesn't work.

when I need to test the noise level of my environment, I don't want to sit through several minutes of ads before I can do so. *** following your reply: ads are generally acceptable and often expected for free versions. long form ads before I can use said free version render your app useless, because if I have to measure a sound, it's not necessarily lasting an eternity for the ads to complete. I found several other options of app where ads are better manged.

Great for knowing if you're about to piss off the neighbors, but don't rely on it for any sort of use beyond that or similar applications. If a cop comes to your door at 1am and says it's too loud, don't pull this app on your phone. Just smile, nod, and turn the music down until they leave. That should give you enough time to get all the highschool kids out of your party, and hide the drugs before they come back on the next complaint. American Standard

Can't use it without subscribing. Edit because of response from the dev: You have to subscribe to a 3 day free trial that auto renews at £15/week - it's a borderline scam. Just use another app that doesn't require this ridiculousness

I can't even look at what the app is before it's bombarded with adds. Download and deleted in less than 5 minutes. First impression is 🥁 You're a sell out, not even 1 minute of app before an add. seconds is what it took edit: While completely reasonable to have adds on a free version, expecting me to pay for the service before I can even try it is a little odd. Just the chance to even mess with the app for longer than 2 seconds might have compelled me to pay but in less time I'm hit with an add

App is seems to be working good. I dont know the readings reliability. But its an analogue meter reading with green, yellow and red mark for easy identification. if noise levels are high at residential place may this app supports as tangeable for complaints.

Once you get into the app it says it's a paid app and you only get a short free trial. Edit: your response says there's a free and paid version. But in your response to another rating, you say, "Please, note that ads only show on the free version of the app. Once the free trial is used or the subscription is upgraded to Premium, the ads will no longer show on your App." Given you can't use it without ads without Premium, this implies the free version of the app is only available during the trial

Downloaded, used it once, never opened again. I DID NOT click start free trial, I swiped back out of the page, but it has been charging me $21.46 a WEEK. just learned apps can make the touch target for the start button cover much of the page & overlap the X button so you think you're backing out but you've unknowingly subscribed. it's one of many "dark patterns" used. I strongly suspect this app is doing this, it's the only explanation for how they were able to charge me. should be criminal.

Don't use this one, there's better free alternatives and there's no unsubscribe option. You cannot unsubscribe from the play store or within the app, in the T&C's it says "unsubscribe through Google pay" - you can't - It offers you a 3 day free trial then it's €14.99 every week, I used an empty Revolut account luckily, they came looking for the 14.99 twice a day, every single day, for the last 3 months... this is a scam app hoping people forget about ridiculously high recurring fee for basic app
