Allows you to add items from another shop on a 10 Minute timer. Then tells you the shop is not available with only minutes to spare. Then the time runs out before you can order from another shop. Has happened to me a few times, resulting in not receiving the offer and paying for delivery twice instead. Frustrating! Other than that it can be good. If you get a good deal and delivery and you're happy with your order
Reviews for Deliveroo: Food & Shopping
← Back to Deliveroo: Food & ShoppingFine when it works but completely unreliable. Orders get delayed when trying to 'find a driver' and then you get the actual delivery, which itself is unreliable. Support is unable to do anything even when a driver is clearly fraudulent (e.g. the wrong person picks up the phone, photos of the wrong delivery place), etc. Just bad service
Pathetic customer service, orders dont get delivered, and they just update the status as delivered, and then all they do is apologise and never come up with a solution! Had faced this issue so many times, and I still tried to trust them with my orders. Seriously, they have failed badly! Deliveroo used to be the best delivery app, but now they have lost all standards!
Deliveroo is the only food delivery service app that I really really dislike and I think out of all of them you're better off not downloading this app or using their service because the prices are far more expensive than the others (justeat, uber eats etc) the promotions they have are really not good most of the time. Additionally, if you are missing items that you ordered and claim for a refund they do not give you your money back and deny it. Customer service is awful.
Food often comes cold because deliveroo doesn't have enough riders/drivers to collect... I'm in zone 2 London. Also the app on android will often just stay on the turquoise deliveroo logo screen and not open to the restaurants/groceries page. Very frustrating as the Apple app works all of the time - food still comes cold though so not much better. Uber Eats is a better choice if you want to eat hot take out
If you have a complaint, they are usually quite good with sorting it out. But recently a company substituted a potato dish for a fish dish. With out notifying me of the change as I would of cancelled my order as I can not eat fish! I got the standard email back asking for photos well by the time I thought about putting a complaint through I had eaten the rest of the food. Apparently my receipt was not good enough, they wanted pictures of the food. Apparently a plate of bones is not sufficient.
It's logged me out half way through placing an order and insisted I change my password. It randomly logs me out at the best of times. But most annoying is the delivery time which pretty much always gets pushed further and further back. It's been delayed an hour and a half before. But the app just pushes the delivery time back and tells you it's running on time. Infuriating, if there's a spike in orders at a certain time put a longer delivery time on.
WORST experience today. I just ordered my food like usasual. The driver couldn't find my clearly marked location and address. I've never had a problem with any of my numerous orders before. The driver stops in the wrong spot. I walk out to find the driver and they say they don't have an order and drive away. After that my order is canceled. I had an awful time with the customer service. They weren't able to help me at all. I am out money for food I wasn't given. Worst delivery app.
App works ok, but the real let down is the company itself. Customer service is awful. They don't understand that missing items from an order can ruin the whole meal. Refunding the missing items doesn't sort the issue, I can't just reorder the missing items without paying the service and delivery fee again. They also don't refund the percentage of service fee that those missing items contributed to. I was basically told it was tough luck, no help at all. The whole order should have been refunded.
Abysmal. When there is a rider shortage, other apps will let you know. Deliveroo, on the other hand, pushes the order through. Then they move the expected time of arrival for an hour and a half. When you go to cancel, you have to talk to a "real person" that itself takes like 5 minutes to respond. Had this interaction like 4 times in 2 months It's an app of inconvenience, it is the Comcast of food delivery sites, and I am overjoyed to hear they're leaving my country in a few weeks.
Worst food delivery app. The GPS location does not let you type in the exact address. Aside from that, delivery fee is almost always above 5 dollars, and they expect you to tip the drivers as well, just so the app can get a cash in on that too. Finally, payment methods are a nightmare, you can't just wrote down your info, you need a verification code, and 4 out of 5 times they don't even work. Customer service is also a nightmare, I was charged for a meal I never got. Don't get this app.
Have used most of these delivery apps in multiple countries. This one worked most of the time, but when it doesn't, customer service is terrible. After one disconnected call, I was then on the phone for over 20 minutes just to get the order refunded for a delivery to the wrong address. Was initially told they couldn't do it. Eventually they did after much hold time. They don't realize the competition is falling over themselves to make happy customers. I reordered with Doordash.
NEVER ORDER IN ADVANCE. When ordering ASAP it works fine and is on time and cost effective. Of the two times I ordered in advance, one was over an hour late (the app showed at least 4 different riders as "close to the restaurant") and one was nearly two hours late and left with my food before I could get to him. App interface is functional, selection of restaurants is appropriate, but I'm only using it because they didn't let me know when the free trial of their free delivery expired.
Any app is only as good as the associated service. Repeated late deliveries even when ordered more than one hour in advance. Edit: Yet again, unrealistic delivery times and a restaurant that doesn't track. They all should be trackable. The only thing this is good for if taking your money! I'm done.
App offers a lot of choice of restaurants where we are, more than other similar apps. Perhaps because they charge less? What I don't appreciate is the constant, full screen advertising. I'm not interested in anything else than ordering food with this app. But it keeps showing me 'special offers' and on every single food order it wants me to allow notifications and calls. Which I don't want. Also annoying; the original delivery slot moves ahead with time, then they still celebrate 'on time'...
terrible app. Gives you wrong updates. I waited over an hour for an order with regular updates saying my order is accepted and is being prepared, driver arrived etc etc and then boom. order cancelled. The customer services could only tell me it's because the restaurant was closed. but can't explain why I was getting false updates. plus they don't give any support for poor orders. Won't be using deliveroo anymore.
consistently poor service w/ purchased items & refunds. You have to email several times for refund back to original payment. they only want to give you Deliveroo credit. if you use a delivery credit on any future items they say it's impossible to refund any unavailable items or wrong restaurant orders. even if it's $1.30 credit applied and you pay over $50 for an order. you'll never get a refund back to original payment. it's a scam. if you can, never accept a credit. always demand refund.
A joke. because I've been loyal and used this app for a long time I have built up occasions of people sending the wrong item or missing items to the point where now deliveroo won't refund me when they don't send me items. we aren't talking loads of missing items either, we are talking what would be expected over the course of a couple years deliveries. so now my supermarket missed £45 worth of stuff from my order and deliveroo seem to not care
compared to doordash in the US, not as good. much more options but the customer service takes a long time to resolve issues and seems to be more company focused, where as, doordash is cares 100% about their customers concerns. Will still use them while out of the country. also, wish there was a translation option for meals & descriptions. it is an ok app.
This app is incredibly frustrating. I specifically chose a restaurant because the delivery time shown was acceptable. The moment I placed my order, the estimated time started increasing, adding another 20-30 minutes to the wait. They are consistently late and never stick to the promised timeframe. The constantly shifting of delivery time makes planning impossible.
