Allows you to add items from another shop on a 10 Minute timer. Then tells you the shop is not available with only minutes to spare. Then the time runs out before you can order from another shop. Has happened to me a few times, resulting in not receiving the offer and paying for delivery twice instead. Frustrating! Other than that it can be good. If you get a good deal and delivery and you're happy with your order
Reviews for Deliveroo: Food & Shopping
Fine when it works but completely unreliable. Orders get delayed when trying to 'find a driver' and then you get the actual delivery, which itself is unreliable. Support is unable to do anything even when a driver is clearly fraudulent (e.g. the wrong person picks up the phone, photos of the wrong delivery place), etc. Just bad service
Pathetic customer service, orders dont get delivered, and they just update the status as delivered, and then all they do is apologise and never come up with a solution! Had faced this issue so many times, and I still tried to trust them with my orders. Seriously, they have failed badly! Deliveroo used to be the best delivery app, but now they have lost all standards!
Deliveroo is the only food delivery service app that I really really dislike and I think out of all of them you're better off not downloading this app or using their service because the prices are far more expensive than the others (justeat, uber eats etc) the promotions they have are really not good most of the time. Additionally, if you are missing items that you ordered and claim for a refund they do not give you your money back and deny it. Customer service is awful.
Food often comes cold because deliveroo doesn't have enough riders/drivers to collect... I'm in zone 2 London. Also the app on android will often just stay on the turquoise deliveroo logo screen and not open to the restaurants/groceries page. Very frustrating as the Apple app works all of the time - food still comes cold though so not much better. Uber Eats is a better choice if you want to eat hot take out
If you have a complaint, they are usually quite good with sorting it out. But recently a company substituted a potato dish for a fish dish. With out notifying me of the change as I would of cancelled my order as I can not eat fish! I got the standard email back asking for photos well by the time I thought about putting a complaint through I had eaten the rest of the food. Apparently my receipt was not good enough, they wanted pictures of the food. Apparently a plate of bones is not sufficient.
It's logged me out half way through placing an order and insisted I change my password. It randomly logs me out at the best of times. But most annoying is the delivery time which pretty much always gets pushed further and further back. It's been delayed an hour and a half before. But the app just pushes the delivery time back and tells you it's running on time. Infuriating, if there's a spike in orders at a certain time put a longer delivery time on.
WORST experience today. I just ordered my food like usasual. The driver couldn't find my clearly marked location and address. I've never had a problem with any of my numerous orders before. The driver stops in the wrong spot. I walk out to find the driver and they say they don't have an order and drive away. After that my order is canceled. I had an awful time with the customer service. They weren't able to help me at all. I am out money for food I wasn't given. Worst delivery app.
App works ok, but the real let down is the company itself. Customer service is awful. They don't understand that missing items from an order can ruin the whole meal. Refunding the missing items doesn't sort the issue, I can't just reorder the missing items without paying the service and delivery fee again. They also don't refund the percentage of service fee that those missing items contributed to. I was basically told it was tough luck, no help at all. The whole order should have been refunded.
Abysmal. When there is a rider shortage, other apps will let you know. Deliveroo, on the other hand, pushes the order through. Then they move the expected time of arrival for an hour and a half. When you go to cancel, you have to talk to a "real person" that itself takes like 5 minutes to respond. Had this interaction like 4 times in 2 months It's an app of inconvenience, it is the Comcast of food delivery sites, and I am overjoyed to hear they're leaving my country in a few weeks.
