can't get the app to load enough to set it up. threw away money basically. I have tried seeing if there was an update, made sure I'm online. checked to make sure there were no three party issues but everytime I go to sign in or attach the machine I get "failed to start the app" guess I'll sell it and buy another companies machine, this one sucks!

My app has been malfunctioning lately. Its saying Fail to start app ive deleted the app and reinstalled but i keep getting the same notification. ive called customer service but i ended up waiting a 1hr long hold until someone finally answers and when i explained to them what was appearing on my app the call gets "disconnected". I've been a subscriber for more than a year. Im not sure if it my app, my phone, the company, or the app in general. please help

A year later and still a lot of issues when using phone. Gonna uninstall on phone and honestly I may just quit cricut all together. Loved using this app to create but now with all the different updates, I can no longer add images or projects to my canvas on my phone. Laptop version works just fine but phone version has issues that still have not been addressed.

App has been glitching SUPER bad, regardless of the updates. It's constantly closing out, and now that I did the latest update, it won't even let me in the app. A pip up window keeps saying "failed to start the app". It's getting ridiculous. honestly thinking about moving to a silhouette machine. Cricut is starting to become a headache.

Seemingly if you're attempting to use your cricut for anything other than the most basic of operations, you're using the wrong machine. Tons of issues with their attaching to the canvas. Machine is always skipping whole steps in the middle of projects. Had more issues than success with this machine. Easily makes cheap decor and you can put text on stuff. Other than that there's other cutting machines more worth your time and money. 7/17/25 App has had many updates and its considerably worse now.

app is great when it works. I just updated it and now, even after I paid for my cricut access subscription yesterday, says I don't have it anymore. incredibly frustrating to find out right after their customer service closed. I pay every month! now I have to cancel and resubscribe? im not getting my money back for this month I suppose.

Spend HUNDREDS on a machine that you can never use. Makes sense right? Since day one, 4 years ago, I've had nothing but problems. This app NEVER works properly. I haven't been able to use my very expensive machine since November. Phone, laptop, it doesn't matter. It just crashes repeatedly, wasting hours of my time, and hundreds of dollars. When it does work it cuts an inch off. Edit: I HAVE emailed and reached out REPEATEDLY with NO response from cricut for the past YEAR. Try again.

This is by far the worst app I've ever used in the history of apps. Though the canvas works fine, EVERY time I go to cut it, it has issues. Sometimes I can go through the process of unpairing, restarting everything, and pairing, but it will work for one page and then just quit for the next. I've tried 6 devices, and even the IT guy at my work is stumped. I got it working smoothly on my laptop for about a month, and then... surprise!.. Cricut no longer support that device and it refuses to open.

When I first bought my machine in 2020/21 (can't remember exactly), things were fantastic! Then, beginning in 2022, the "updates" since then have made my entire machine practically unusable 🙄 Every update made things worse. The app constantly either randomly shuts down during creations, says I don't have an account, or freezes up completely. Right now, it's a very expensive paperweight sitting on my shelf. THIS APP NEEDS AN OVERHAUL!!! 🤬

the app is difficult to use because you have to learn all the individual symbols and icons. then there is the weekly update or maybe more often that doesn't even do anything other than slow down the app. it's been several updates and anytime i need to resize by dragging text boxes, it slows so much i has to load and sometimes i get a message to wait or close the app.

I never got this thing to work, and customer service is no help. No refunds beyond the first week and no way to cancel the subscription retroactively. I wasted my money and feel disappointed I could not even get a refund on the subscription I was never able to use. Don't waste your money. This is a big paperweight, but they keep charging every month for it without your knowledge or consent

It's getting ridiculous that I am trying to finish a project through my phone, and it constantly tells me I need to connect my machine. I have tried so many times now to print my project, and it continues to tell me that I need to register my machine to my account. IT IS registered! It is insane that this keeps happening. My connection is NOT the problem. The app is the problem. Stop with the constant updates, and stop with the constant changes. It's not doing anyone any good.

This app is the WORST!! Print then cut - cuts the image smaller than the measurements on the mat. Sticker - part of the image on the left side magically disappear & if sticker is words using a thin border, the letters get jumbled. Offset - can't change the size of the offset, stuck @ 0.0. If you're thinking about getting a Cricut, don't! Unless you like being frustrated or like wasting your time & materials or just have a bunch of money to waste on a pretty paperweight, go w/ a different brand!

👎Very spotty app to use on your phone and I would not consider this "commercial grade" if it is meant to produce on a company scale with inconsistency, especially having to pay for a things on the app when you have already purchased an over $500 machine. Constantly logs me out and now apparently has a permanent "authentication error" so I can't reset my password and lost years of work.

new: they updated again. now I can't use my direct connect for my printer with my cricut because it wants to be connected continuously on WiFi. every update screws me a little further. i already purchased my circuit, I shouldn't have to keep buying to use it. old review: There are some features that aren't available, but still pretty convenient to be able to use my phone to design stuff while I'm out. I can always save it and make fixes on my laptop later.

app is getting better as time goes on. I'm not the biggest fan of the new interface at the bottom, and where things are, i got so used to the way the menus were and got so fast using it. I use this app a lot, probably more than 99% of the people using it. Now its changed up and it slows me down, but its not the worst. Overall, this app keeps getting better with time. I wish image editor had an option to make the white and gray background a little darker for erasing lighter colors easier

Wow what happened after the update? I am missing some things like delete, duplicate, and group which usually is on the top side of the screen on the right side. but since the update I no longer have those features you're supposed to update for the better, not the worst. By the way, this is on my Windows computer. I have not checked my Android tablet or phone.

I have no idea what happened. This was a great app that I've used for years. The last update took it from that to being absolutely useless. Won't connect to my machine to print from my phone, and even on my iPad, the app freezes up as soon as I try to cut something. Literally, the only thing the app is useful for and it doesn't work. Unbelievable. Now, I get to be behind on projects!

The app always crashes the cutting machine most the time just rips my paper up so I think I spent more time and money and got nothing out of it. the machines are really expensive! And all I see on here is oh we're sorry about your experience blah blah blah then why don't you fix it. cuz I'm pretty mad that this was supposed to be a fun thing to do and turned into an expensive aggravating experience.

I used to prefer the mobile app to the desktop version, but not anymore. The UI is the opposite of inuitive, and the menus coming down from the top literally make it impossible to move text around once it's there because the menu blocks the text entirely. Everything feels cluttered and difficult to work with, and the constant push to join the subscription is super annoying. Why do I need to say no each time I use the app and sometimes just when going to a new page in it?
