Been using Detector Maps for a couple months now. It’s basically a GPS-powered app that helps gold prospectors like me find high-potential zones to explore. Pretty solid if you’re into that kind of thing.

Here’s what you can do – there’s advanced geological data layers that show things like surface geochemistry, historic gold mines, and mining claims. It’s got some cool filtering tools too so you can really dial in your search. And the offline maps are super handy when you’re out in the middle of nowhere. Took me a while to figure out all the features but it’s pretty user-friendly overall.

Look, if you’re a gold prospector or just into geology, you’ll probably get a lot of use out of this app. It’s not perfect – the ads can be a bit annoying if you don’t pay – but overall it does the job and helps you find more gold. Worth checking out for sure.

I've tested a bunch of apps for gold prospectors and geologists, and Detector Maps is one of the better ones I've come across. The geological data layers are really robust and the mapping tools are super useful when you're out in the field. The UI is pretty intuitive too, which is important when you're trying to quickly analyze an area. That said, the free version does have some annoying ads that can get in the way. And the offline maps, while handy, don't have the same level of detail as the online ones. But overall, it's a pretty solid app that I'd recommend to anyone serious about prospecting.
