I'm an OTR truck driver. This new Dēzl app won't send simple GPS coordinates to my device. Instead, it gives me a list of local retail business close by. It also won't allow me to add stops to my current route. Instead, it starts a new route, so I can't plan an entire trip from shipper to consignee, nor add fuel stops with the Dēzl app. What's the point in using it? You sell a navigation unit for commercial driving. Why not a commercial driving parrner app?

Works ok for the most part. Sometimes it will drop the traffic/weather service and then I have to restart both garmin and phone to get it to work again. The main issue I have with it is looking up your pliot/flying j rewards info on the garmin dezl 810. Love's rewards will pop up every time no problem. But when I do flying j/pilot, it only works once or twice before it won't display your info anymore. Have to uninstall the dezl app and re-install to get it to work only once or twice again.

As far as I can tell the only point in having this app is so that it can constantly fail to connect when it does connect turn your volume all the way up on your phone. I used to keep it just to send addresses which didn't always work but now it's either don't send an address or send an address that makes the GPS have a stroke. The GPS isn't much better so I'm not sure what I really expected. I usually have to wait at least an hour whenever I turn it on for it to figure out that it's a GPS.

Just purchased dezl otr720, installed and deleted dezl app (several times) because I have to keep logging back into pilot thru dezl to get the GPS to show my info. App shows I'm all set to go. The Loves side, on the other hand, has no problem staying connected to the GPS even though the dezl app says I have to finish setting up connecting to the Love's app. It gets annoying to have to keep reintroducing the info.

I can't even get logged into the app. First, they conveniently forgot my login info from Smartphone Link, so I had to reset it. This thing, if you click anywhere other than where you're supposed to, it reloads the password page. If you use a password manager, it ignores it and reloads the page. Now I've reloaded it so many times unintentionally that I'm locked out of the login page. Thanks for nothing. If this thing logs me out and I have to type this long secure password in, I'm going scream.

I thought I was the only one having this problem, then to I read some reviews. It's great when it works but I also keep getting disconnection issues and it won't reconnect. Can't fiddle around with it when you're driving. Sometimes it takes up to 24 hours before it before it connects, Definitely needs to be worked on! No point on buying a $1000 GPS and it can't tell you traffic.

App works only about 25% of the time. If you're not in constant Bluetooth range of your Dezl device at all times, it will fail to reconnect. The only way to reconnect it is to Force Stop the app and restart it, reboot the GPS and hope it reconnects. When it is connected, it changes the volume and ringer setting on your phone, even with all the permissions off. Furthermore, when the GPS and app are connected, the GPS does not pull traffic updates or automatically reroute or anything.

The app was working properly. But I have an issue with both of my GPS. I own OTR 700 and OTR 610. They were both working well, up to the point of the last update. For whatever reason, Bluetooth won't engage to pick up data information from dezl via my phone. Both models that I mentioned. I have tried all suggestions that were given to me in the troubleshooting section in the manual. I believe that if you this fix the bug ( update ). All problems of linking both devices will disappear.

Terrible, both apps constantly drop connection and won't reconnect. I have to uninstall and reinstall the app in order for it to connect at least once a day. What the hell Garmin!? Thanks for the $800 paperweight! Clearly you've lost focus on the trucking side of your products. All the ads, sales, webinars, etc. focus on aviation or your damn watches.

Works okay when it works. Problem is the app will drop Bluetooth connection to my device. Then the app becomes useless. Then I go through six layers of hell trying to reestablish the Bluetooth connection to the GPS so the app becomes useful again. This happens any time I lose signal to my phone. To be able to use the app again, I have to uninstall and reinstall it, then renew the connection. Nothing else works. 5 stars if you guys can fix this glitch, since it works fine when it's working.

Best all around GPS I've ever had. I've had Cobra, then Ran McNally and now Garmin. Hands down the best. Easy updates, live traffic without having to go through hoops, weather info a great plus. Addresses a little off at times but for the most part when it is, leaves you close enough. When trying to locate by coordinates also seems to fall short. Because of these 2 details I won't give it a 5 star review

Being able to see weather and traffic on a Garmin device is a nice feature. Having your phone's Bluetooth default to the Garmin speaker is a terrible idea. Name one truck driver who thinks that making and receiving phone audio through a tiny speaker on a GPS unit over the loud roar of a diesel engine is a brilliant idea. You will not find one. Once you turn off the phone call setting in the app it automatically disconnects the entire phone from the GPS. This unit is just fine without this app.

Touch and go at best. When it works, it does what I need. But the BIGGEST issue that I have experienced on an almost daily basis is the App not connecting to my OTR 800 if I turn the device off. Major inconvenience due to the necessity of unpairing the device on both ends, deleting and reinstalling the app, then logging back into my Garmin account if I am still lucky enough to be within cell service. Quite the ordeal to say the least. 2 stars because I desperately hope Garmin gets this sorted.

Simple but effective. One thing would be that the GPS unit is short in memory, phones on the other hand are more powerful. They could add a few more features. As it is now? It's like walking into a nice classy room and enjoying the scenery, then leaving and forgetting it after time because it got boring, but you appreciated it while you were there.

Overall my experience with the device/app has been very good. the app itself is very Bare Bones No frills. It's here to connect your phone to the device which includes other services like the truck apps, which displays Vital Information on the device for your convenience. I only wish there was a way to update the device through the App instead of relying on Wi-Fi

Ugh, this is so annoying! Seriously, all those updates and downloads are insane. I started updating in the morning and it was still going at midnight, and it still wasn't done 😑. Then the GPS just stopped working and shut down.I currently possess two Garmin devices. Following a reset to factory settings on one unit, it ceased to function properly after software updates. Despite these efforts, the device experienced freezing during navigation, which is critical for my profession as a truck drive

I definitely enjoy having the Dēzl app, as well as my Garmin OTR500. There is a few some improvements that could be made that would help. It would be nice if the app/device could adapt as it routed paths. Meaning, taking into consideration paths already traveled that may be different then the directed path from Garmin. Also, some of the places I go specifically, Garmin/dēzl app think you can travel that route, when actually, you are not able. Other than that really, it is a great companion.

400 dollars for a GPS and the app won't talk to the GPS saying it's not connected via Bluetooth but yet the GPS will make phone calls off my phone. real nice guys. this will be getting returned in the morning. There is no buttons. that makes it difficult to turn up volume and brightness. the GPS unit works as ot should. it's definitely nicer than the Rand Mcnally units. however the lack of buttons and non working app makes it difficult to use.

I really like the Garmin, it's easy to use and I can navigate exactly the way I want to go with ease. I wish at the bottom the tabs. Instead of how fast you're going, I wish it was an option for the mile marker. There is one, but it's on the right and I like to show my distance to deliver or pick up and also on the left. I would prefer mile markers. Overall, it's a really good garmin, product.

I have the OTR725. The device itself works great. I haven't had any issues over the year that I've had it. the app however... it crashes multiple times while I'm trying to access the videos to put on my phone. It will also randomly disconnect and kick me out even though I'm right next to the Garmin. Very annoying to go through the connection process 20 times over just to save a few videos.
