Free trial is up and may get rid of it. Watching via this app on my cell is impossible. It's constantly saying there is no internet connection when indeed I'm on WiFi at full strength. Most of the time the shows don't even start and if they do I get the no internet connection complaint. Also, I figured all shows that used to be on TLC, for example, would be featured but that's not true. Lots of shows not even on here.

Trying to sign up and it says once I hit agree and continue that I agree to everything...well there is no button to click that says "Agree and continue " so I am stuck on the sign up page. I have uninstalled and re-installed
Frustrating , I've been a customer for over a year and this evening I went on my tablet to watch the channel. According to you my subscription is inactive. The only problem with that is you are continuing to take money out of my acct!!!!! So really it doesn't matter if I watch discovery+ one time a year. If I'm paying for the subscription I shouldn't have to redo anything...
By far, the worst streaming app I've ever downloaded! Tons of bugs, but the real deal breaker is that whenever you leave a show, when you come back, it starts it over. If you pause for more than a minute or two, it starts it over. Resume doesnt work at all! No customer service or way to complain!
Don't get the cheap subscription with commercials!! There's way too many commercial breaks and I'm going to pull my hair out if I see Jake from State Farm or that annoying Kohl's ad with that stupud song about leaving your worries on the doorstep!!!! I arranged for my subscription to end in June then the next day I'm signing up for the commercial free version. I'd rather pay more money than watch the same annoying commercials over and over and over!!! But I do enjoy the app's content.
I really want to like it more... but, it has some flaws. Obviously, if you're familiar with Discovery+, you know it has a wide selection, which is great. However, my number one issue is that there is no picture-in-picture for Android phones! If you have iPhone, no problem, but not for Android. Pretty odd and super inconvenient. Everytime I end up having to do anything else on my phone, it rarely starts back at the same place I left off, and usually not even the same episode.
Very buggy, won't even stay open now. "More info" button is visible even when no ad is playing but only sometimes, seasons and episode numbers are constantly messed up. Tilt for full screen can never make up it's mind and freaks out (and it's only this app). Getting to the point where I might as well end my subscription and save some money and read a book. They tend not to be buggy.
The content is amazing, no doubt, but what is going on with the ads?? It's either the same ad 3 or 4 times in a single break, or it just gets stuck in a 5-7 second loop if the same ad. I don't mind the ads, whatever, but like, that loop never ends. Only way out is to close out and come back. AND it never ever saves your spot at the right place, sometimes not even the right episode.
I have been very disappointed so far with Discovery plus! I signed up for the no ads/commercials and the first show I watched went great. Now every time I try to watch something it gets hung up frequently and makes it frustrating to watch anything with all of the pausing and the little circle going around in my screen. I also subscribe to Prime which works much better with none of the above issues. I also hate that there are no air dates, episodes identified, or any description of the show/episo
This app sucks! My subscription was cancelled because my credit card expired, and by the time that I figured out the proper way to update it, it was too late. Are you trying to drive customers away? It would be helpful if there was a phone # so I could speak to a LIVE person and get the issue resolved expeditiously. Now, I need to figure out how to re-sign up. Lousy customer service!
I'm now being asked to log in every time I want to use the app, both on my phone and my roku devices. It's really, really annoying and sometimes means I watch other streaming services instead. And if I don't use a service, I won't keep it. At the very least, you could make the log in easier with a qr code. But, really, I don't understand why you would log me out of devices that are associated with my home and always have been.
Content is what you expect from an the app. The app itself hasn't figured out the basics however. Stop watching half way through and want to continue where you left off? Too bad, start from the beginning. Want to fast forward? Can't do that. If it works you will have to rewatch all the adds if you have the cheapest version of the app. But only if it works because more often than not it doesn't, no matter how much you pay. Just jumps you back to the beginning each time.
I have not been able to access the app, nor my account via the website for days. This is not the first time, but it matters more now because I am trying to cancel my subscription. Now I will be charged for something I can not even access. I've tried on multiple devices (phone, tablet, PC) and nothing can get the app it web page to load. Super frustrating.
Will not be renewing. Have wasted hours trying to upgrade to ad-free but it's impossible. I cannot take another sec of the BK or Jardiance commercials. You can only upgrade if you cancel and open a new account per 1 hour of technical support. App constantly loses its place. When I reopen the app, I have to watch 10 minutes of ads guessing where I left off. HBO Max is a better option with same content. Update: Obviously by the response, they didn't read my post fully. I have contacted support .
The ads constantly freeze. To rectify this, you have to back out of the ads/show. Then, when you go back in, the ads restart and force you to watch them over again. This can happen multiple times in a row, causing you to watch ads for 10 minutes.Update: 1/20/25 The app on all of my TVs and phone continues to freeze during ads. Now, you don't have to rewatch the ads. You just have to go back out of the show and back in after every ad plays. 🥴 Clearing cache doesn't help! Fix the app.
While I like the programming of shows available (albeit it sucks that you advertised initially reruns of past shows, and yet when it comes to something like forged in fire, you actually only have 2 seasons available), but my main complaint is that your app on my roku smart TV keeps closing for no reason. Not cool. Especially if I am paying a subscription price for having access to your programming. Also, I'm still experiencing the same streaming issues, despite the app being updated.
I previously wrote a review for this app but decided to delete and start over. I am giving 3 stars this time cuz I HATE the current format of app. It's much harder to scroll thru shows/movies and is too similar to Max app, which I also can't stand for same reason. Please go back to the other version or make scrolling thru shows easier. Finding what I want 2 watch is a nightmare, especially if title begins with a letter at end of alphabet. Still love shows on here, though!
This is a multi billion dollar company. This app is pathetic. I cannot get into it on my Telus box, it keeps running updates or closing and then not opening at all, and I can't get into it on my phone because the code is glacially slow. Absolutely pathetic, honestly. Edit: finally got into the app - now I cannot open the app on my Telus box and I also cannot cast the app to my Telus box. Do they keep you guys in a little car, because this is a clown show.
IDK what y'all did in the past year to make your app suck, but it does. I used to be able to watch what was live, and that's no longer an option according to your tech support. and you don't have a category dedicated to shark week anymore, so I have to search for what's playing and HOPE it's available on the app to watch. don't get me wrong, I'm glad I can access some of my favorite shows, but shark week means a lot to me, and the fact that I can't easily get to it blows.
this app is the only thing I watch but it seems like more and more shows are disappearing. I no longer have access to any History Channel shows, a number of shows are missing seasons, how a show with 9 seasons starts with season 3 and only has 4 seasons available is ridiculous. I thought the point of paying for streaming services like this was to have access to the full catalog of shows. At this rate it's just like the cable company. gotta pay for access to certain channels. I'm ready to cancel.
