Reviews for Disney+

The app performs well enough. I love that the picture fills my screen if I zoom in. However, I wish there was a way to adjust the size of the subtitles and/or move them permanently to the bottom of the screen so they don't get in the way of the picture. The font is too large for my taste, and it randomly hops from top to bottom on the screen. I'm always having to turn subtitles off and rewind to see what I missed, then turn them back on so I can understand what's being said.

Disney+ always seems to have the most outdated streaming software. when using on my TV it always lags, crashes, or pauses itself in a buffering manor for a few seconds before it starts to "fast forward" itself as if it's trying to play catch up . some times the app refuses to even open or load the shows or movies I want to watch. most would chalk this up to internet issues but I stream on. Netflix, HBO, Crunchy roll, and most other streaming apps and have 0 issues.

I haven't had this app for an hour and already it's buffered and jumped forward in episodes and lost volume and audio jumps out of sync with what I'm watching non stop. my Internet connection is perfect, it's literally the most horrible experience I've ever had with a streaming app. couple that with a terrible interface and you probably have the worst streaming app on the market. congrats Disney, It only took me attempting to get through half of a single episode to realize how poor this app is.

The app has been very glitchy lately. It freezes mid-episode, sometimes restarting with no audio and playing at 2x speed before freezing again. Even after closing and restarting, the problem persists. It consistently malfunctions, not only on my phone but also on my streaming devices. Ultimately, it consistently fails to work when I want to watch something. I'll cancel my subscription unless it improves, as this is not worth the frustration and expense.

The commercials are a bit much. I'll watch a movie then back out. Then start off where I left off and another commercial. I've accidentally hit the back button on the remote when the commercial had 5 seconds left, and it starts all over. really, you can't tell that I just watch 2 mins worth of commercials. A lot of movies I can't let my daughter watch if I haven't seen it because you have freaking woke movies in animation for kids. Disney is sick to even think of making movies like that.

The app glitches on any device, slow stream, poor sound quality, and more. I am also going to have to cancel the subscription as the price is going up from 16 to almost 20 dollars in a couple of days. Sad as I have stock, too. I guess we are going to have to live without Star Wars and Encanto, the kids' favorite, for a while.

App is horrible! I have the plan with ads. It never remembers where I left off anytime I go to resume watching something. I have to write down where I left off so I don't forget. If u try to resume watching something, it just plays ads and starts over from the beginning. The 10 second skip options hardly ever work. U can't skip ahead back to where you left off half the time as it plays ads and starts over again. What a joke!

2025 review: freezes up. Havent been able to use it on my smartTV for 2 days now as it's just stuck on the Disney+ screen and won't load any further. Same thing happened on my phone for 2 days. I had to uninstall/reinstall on my phone to get it working. Not sure what I'm supposed to do about my TV. Unsubscribing, again. 2022 review: The app is extremely glitchy. It often won't play. Half the time it won't work with my Chromecast. Doesn't matter which device I switch to. Very frustrating.

Ever since the MyDisney account rollout, there has been NOTHING but problems with Disney+ and Hulu when logging into our account. It's unusable on mobile and randomly logs out on our Roku device. I haven't been able to use the app for over a month on my phone since login just throws a "Something went wrong. Try again?" error. EDIT: I have tried troubleshooting this problem. It isn't a playback issue, I literally can not log in on mobile at all.

Ads expected, but need improvement. If you miss the first few seconds after an ad and back up, you have to watch ALL the ads again, you can't skip repeating ad blocks like you can with other apps. Also, the ads are louder than the show, like 3-5 clicks louder, just like broadcast TV. There ought to be a law against this, it hurts my ears, and family members with sensitive either ears can hear the show or must cover their ears during ads. I will be first in line for an ad-mute for my device.
