Reviews for Dosecast - Pill Reminder App

← Back to Dosecast - Pill Reminder App

UPDATE 5.6.24 I have played with all the settings and I cannot get the notifications to turn on. I'm on 2 meds, a painkiller every 4 hours and an antibiotic every 6 hours, and I really need to take both on time and not mix up frequency. I really wish this worked with alarms. 2018 comment: No notifications - I like that I can track multiple meds short term but this would be much more useful if the notifications worked. I have to set a separate alarm which seems unnecessary.

I've been using Dosecast app for 5-6 years. During the past year it has stopped sounding alarms for medications due, even with my app permissions set to "on." I have also reduced the history 3 times, to keep even less & all meds that have been archived are hidden from view. Because the app is not alarming I have purchased a medication alarm clock that has 4 alarms I can set. This is my 4-5th issue of complaint since I began using it; each "update" seems to cause more malfunctions. 👎👎👎

I have used different med apps, but I find this to be the fastest and easiest and most flexible to use. Granted most of them have the same functions for entering pills, but I don't need all the extra health stuff, so I have used this for many many years and recommend it wholeheartedly to anyone who wants to keep track of their medication quickly, withour fuss.

I've paid an annual subscription fee twice, and I expect more when I'm paying that much for an app. I thought it was worth it, but in the past several months the app has become very buggy on my OnePlus6T with Android Pie. I emailed the development team about the bugs but I haven't heard back from them. Sometimes after I've indicated that I took a medication, the app continues to play the notification sound and vibrate. Sometimes it doesn't accept my input, that I took a medication.

FIXED! I have had this app for so many years I cannot remember- at least 10? I never had any issue before... I am a subscriber to the cloud back up & sync. When I go to settings it tells me it cannot connect to the cloud. My internet is fine. My app is updated. I am afraid to uninstall & reinstall cuz I don't want to lose my data. Well I uninstalled, wants me to create an account, can't reach server & all my data is gone. UPDATE: I wrote to you through email & you fixed it. Thank you so much!!

I've been using this app for years (the free version). It's excellent for remembering to take your medication. You don't have to sign in to an account. It's easy to add your medication, the steps are easy. You can adjust the repeat reminder times to what you'd prefer. You can personalize the alert tone. I absolutely love it. I've checked out other medication alert apps, nothing compares to Dosecast!

I've used this app for several years. Since the latest update 2 days ago, the app keeps closing on me and doesn't give reminders. Please fix your 'fix'. This is usually a great app, but I'm not getting reminder notifications lately. I only get reminders when I open the app to check it, then I'll get all the reminders for the previous day. This seems to have started after the most recent update. Happy to give more stars if this new bug gets fixed.

Edit: After years of using this app, it suddenly logged me out and won't let me log in again. I emailed the company for help and have not gotten any response. If I was in the middle of doing something when it was time to take meds, I usually forgot to take them when I got done with that task. When I was just using calendar appointments, it was all the same tones. I really like that I can choose my notification sound. I also like that it will nag me until I take my meds.

This app has been really great! After full knee replacement my med list went up and was hard to track, especially with the added pain meds that muddled the mind. It prompts me to take meds, warns when I've taken the maximum dose for the day and had a nice history display. My only wish is that I could delete more than one history record at s time...make it a list... check, check, check...delete. Other than that, I'm very happy with this app!!

This app is almost perfect for tracking medications, particularly when you have a complex variety of doses and intervals to take meds at. It's an essential app for post-surgery recovery. The only weaknesses: It allows you to specify how many to take, but doesn't give you an option to say exactly how many you actually took. It also only allows maximum doses to be set for 24 hour period or day. Maximum dose should be allowed for any range of hours (ex: not more than 3 tablets every 2 hours).

This app was so easy to use and set up . I used to set alarms bit when you're not at home it's no help. This app with the postpne feature ( a variable postpone) really helps me keep my medicine on time. It also gives me a list of medications and their strength when I visit my doctor I don't have to write out a separate list or remember it. I highly recommend it now many months of nit years I still love the app!

The notifications are still buggy. sometimes they work flawlessly and sometimes the notification that it's time to take my pill won't pop up until I open the app. it is such an inconvenience to not have them pop up when they should! please do something if you can. this is the only reminder app that I've found that I actually like. when it works properly that is.

Deducting 2 stars because it seems to have deleted my account. I emailed customer support so we'll see. I have reminders for meds and supplements, and sometimes for other daily tasks. It's a great ADHD support tool. I put stuff into single reminders by timing. So in the evening, 2 supplements and 2 medications are all in one reminder. The one morning thing has its own reminder. And a daily task with no "time" has a reminder I can mark Done whenever I do it. I like the custom images option.

Due to the lack of support when they lost my account info, its getting 1 star. Does anyone out there support or manage this app anymore? Suddenly it kicked me out and it's asking me to login. The app doesn't remember my username or password and there is no way to reset it. It used to be very helpful to remind me when to take medicine. It saves the last time I took it.

This app just went from 5 stars to 1 for me. I have used this app for nearly 15 years & paid for lifetime usage back in the beginning. Now they want to serve up ads to me & while they don't saw they will sell my data, that is always the next step. They also want you to use their cloud services, for ease of device transfer or syncing between devices, I don't care for it & if I get a new device a properly coded app should transfer it's info over with everything else. Time to look for a new app. :(

This app is really helpful and very easy to use. I have to take meds 3 times a day, and without the reminder, I would definitely forget. I also keep track of my dogs feeding schedule as well as their meds. My doctor was very impressed and said he would advise his other patients of this app. Great app all the way around. ps: Thank you for letting me know how to access settings and change the notification sound within the app.

**Edit: Wow, they found a way to make it worse. Now it shows every medication, including retired, as active again.** Went from a good solid app to absolute garbage with unnecessary unwelcome forced cloud participation. It's now slow and forces you into an agreement that they can collect data about your device and medication to even get in and use an app I paid for years ago that wasn't cloud based. now it has to sync to servers between every screen. Who knows where they're selling your data.

This app used to be great. It served itself purpose and did what I needed it to do for years. Now, all of a sudden, with the new upgrade, my "medication uptake information" keeps disappearing. So, if I have different dosages or strengths of the same medication, I have no idea which one is which. Super counterintuitive. The kicker is that I'm paying money for the Pro version. Bring back the version before all the upgrades that don't even work yet!?!

I've relied on this app for a decade. It's been getting worse, as they seem to be focusing on other non-core features. So for the last few months, every time I open the app, to check a time, take a pill, etc, there's always a 5-15 second delay as it queries the network. For the basic interval timer there's no reason for this. very annoying. But now as of today, the app won't even load. All I get is "syncing data". Please either fix this, or give me my $20 back.

EDITED 8.05 Fixed now. Thanks. Used for years. Suddenly this month it required login with account. After signing up for that it hasn't worked right. it takes forever to load with a spinning sync. Then it just freezes. I've reinstalled 3 times. I finally uninstalled and went to another app. I found Everydose to be pretty similar to the old Dosecast. Hopefully the developers will fix the bugs now in Dosecast and remove the new ridiculous bloat they've suddenly added. I don't want all that stuff.
