So here's my honest take on Drill Bit Charts Pro. I've tested a bunch of these reference apps and this one's one of the better ones. It's got all the essential info you need without being overly complicated. The user experience is pretty good - the charts are easy to read, especially on a tablet. Only minor gripe is that the design feels a little dated, but it's functional. Overall, if you work with fasteners and drill bits regularly, this is a handy tool to have in your toolbox.

Pros

  • Tons of useful charts and reference info in one place
  • Scales well to larger screens for easy readability
  • Includes tap drill sizes for both US and metric threads
  • Has wood screw sizing which is super helpful
  • Unit converter in the pro version is a nice bonus

Cons

  • UI and design is a bit dated, could use a refresh
  • Charts can be a little overwhelming if you're not familiar with this stuff
  • Free version is pretty limited, have to pay for pro to unlock all features

Description

Been using Drill Bit Charts Pro for a couple months now. It’s basically an app that has all these charts and reference info for different drill bit sizes – you know, like fractional inches, metric, that kinda thing. Pretty solid app if you’re into construction or DIY projects and need to look up the right drill bits to use.

Here’s what you can do: there’s charts for tap drill sizes, both for US and metric threads. Comes in handy when you’re trying to figure out what size pilot hole to drill. It’s got wood screw sizes too, so you know the right clearance holes. And they just added some stuff for pipe taps, which is cool. Oh, and there’s a unit converter built-in for the pro version, which is pretty useful.

Look, if you work with a lot of different fasteners and drill bits, you’ll probably find this app really helpful. It’s not perfect – the UI could be a little more polished – but overall it does the job and saves me time looking stuff up. Worth checking out.
