Been using DRIVE Electric for Tesla for a couple months now. It’s basically a smartwatch app that lets you control your Tesla from your wrist. Pretty solid app if you’re into Tesla and smart home tech.

Here’s what you do: you can lock/unlock the car, check the charge level, and even start/stop the climate control all from your watch. And there’s also a really cool feature where you can use your watch to open the car without your phone – just tap it on the door handle. And the app has a Tesla-themed watch face that looks super sleek.

Look, if you’re a Tesla owner who’s always forgetting their keys, you’ll probably really like this. It’s not perfect – the recent news about Tesla charging devs for API access is kind of a bummer – but overall it does the job. Worth checking out if you want to ditch the phone when running errands.

So here's my honest take on DRIVE Electric for Tesla. I've tested a bunch of Tesla companion apps and this one's definitely one of the better ones. The core functionality works really well - it's fast, reliable, and integrates seamlessly with the car. I like that it gives you all the essential controls right on your wrist without having to pull out your phone. The watch face is a nice touch too. The main downside is the upcoming change to the Tesla API that will require a subscription for remote access, which is a bummer. But for basic Bluetooth/NFC controls, it's still a pretty useful app.
