I'm givinga 2 because their customer service is great. I have an S24 Ultra and it will not connect, it pairs and then the circle of death keeps spinning. Support tried everything they could to try to fix but no go. The camera will connect without issue. I did get the escort live app to connect but the camera doesn't work. I do not like that both want ridiculous access and location enable always. It a huge battery drainer so I force quit it. Hope they can fix this, for hardware cost it should.

Terrible. This is the worst thing ever. Driving on the freeway no speed limit shows up. Arrow icon is off by 500+ feet like I'm driving off road in the ditches through neighborhoods next to the road. No dashboard only map mode. I don't need to see a map on a tiny phone screen. Bring back Escort Live! I wasted $50 on a subscription to this POS?! * Update- I misunderstood the subscription is for the database not the app. 10/15/2024 - I did Update to the latest version. Still doesn't work.

When it works, it's decent. I like the Android Auto integration, and that alerts are read over the car speakers. My biggest complaint is that most of the time, it'll get stuck on syncing emergency data and never properly run. When it does run, I can mute radar warnings, but it won't store those lockouts like the previous app (iRadar) for future trips. It would be nice if, like the previous app, I could switch between a map screen and a speedometer screen.

UPDATE: I updated (again) to the latest version and some things have improved but it's still a huge problem getting a connection on start up. You can try to unpair the Bluetooth in your phone but even that doesn't always fix it. I've actually reached my destination and the app still hasn't connected to my detector! If you're using an Escort detector, not a Cobra, switch back to Escort Live Radar. I can't use the dashcam with this app but at least it connects. 😒.

App will not load half the time, it just gets stuck in "syncing navigation data" indefinitely. Then when it does work it won't actually connect to my radar detector it says "out of range." Detector itself seems to work fine but the connectivity with the app is very poor. Needs to be updated or something because the app itself is basically useless right now as far as I can tell and very confusing.

Seems like there may be some progress, still not to par. The app starts now as of 100924. However, the following are still concerns. The app doesn't go into landscape after I've spent hundreds setting up mounts in my cars for it. I wish we had the option of using the iRadar app until they worked the bugs out of this one. Google maps won't work with my GPS while this turd is installed on my phone. I know it's not the car. It's the app for sure, I tried it on all 5 of the vehicles I have. T U R D!

Even with the new update this app is absolute dog s$&#. It still won't connect 90% of the time. Settings never load etc. Update: The new version of the app is better at connecting, but it won't run unless you give it access to your data, pictures, contacts and more. Absolutely unacceptable. Let us decide what you have access to. Time to move on to another brand.

A lot to improve. The "syncing emergency data" needs to go. It takes to long for the app to open. All those permissions on all the time is a horrible idea. You don't need my contacts or my location on all the time. The map needs work. No zoom buttons and the vehicle icon is at the top of the map, so you can only see like 100 feet in front. I also have 2 different radar detectors and my cobra 480i won't connect to the app. It says the the device already has a existing account.

This is another example of an app that makes me wonder if the developer has ever used it. Mostly garbage from what I've experienced thus far. Driving directions are horrendous in terms of predicting arrival time and getting you there via the quickest route, takes forever to re-route if you don't take one of the suggested turns. And I didn't find the police warnings terribly useful. May try a few more times, but at best will run it in the background on longer trips, more likely delete.

New to my Escort Redline 360c & DS, but so far the radar (and M2 dashcam) are great. However, other than being able to set up both, the application is problematic. For example, when I mute the regularly annoying 'over speed', not the set speed but the comparison of the car speed to the application speed. the issue: even though I have muted this alert, at the time the application would say "over speed', with it muted it mutes the music I am playing. I have found no way to keep the music playing.

This "Drive Smarter" app is useless and a total data grab on their behalf. Installed one day and un-installed the next. If you don't agree to giving them everything on your phone then it doesn't work. There are many reasons why they are doing this and I don't believe that the customer is their only consideration. Data is valuable. What ever happened to putting the customer first?

UI doesn't function great. The company wants this app to act like driving assistance with GPS and Alexa. You can't just open the app and change camera settings, watch clips, or update firmware. App requires way too many "all the time" permissions. Contacts, precise location, camera, notifications, and memory access. I paid way too much money for a mediocre dash cam for the company to them mine and sell my data.

The app is 'meh.' G-maps or W*ze probablybetter because those have more users? I've even done four 100+ mile trips (all with some hwy, 2 lane, etc) running all 3 apps a few times to compare. The detector is great, happy with IT - but I'm not paying for an app that's not better than the free options. I'll try it again next year to see if Escort finds some new tricks... 😎

Zero stars! Don't buy their cameras! The device will not let you view camera footage without enabling every permission. It literally won't let you do anything until you grant it everything. You used to be able to acknowledge and skip. The app doesn't need my contacts in order for me to connect to my camera, nor camera permission, nor any of the other permissions. I enable them, download my videos, then disable everything again. Otherwise, it tracks you everywhere and drains your battery.

App will not work unless you have location services turned on all the time. I only want location services "on'' when using the app only. Why does it need to be "on" when you're not using the app, running in the background? I'm deleting this app and just use the radar as a stand alone unit and won't be purchasing another Escort product. reply to their comment: There is no misunderstanding, this app will only work if it's set to access your location ALL THE TIME, even when it's not use.

Same issues as described on every previous review. One of the biggest issue is the the m1 dash cam. It no longer work with drive smarter. The response I got was "the M1 is end of life in our system". All it takes is a programming. The m1 dash cam is not even 8 years old. Horrible way to treat loyal customers. Now I have a dash cam that I can't use with my max 360c!

10/1/25 still doesnt work. i tried emailing your support from the website and it say (email address not found) If I could I'd give a 0 star. I'm running through hoops to try and figure this out. it's very annoying ima just delete the app and use a better radar detector it used to work. but now when ever I try to log in. it says app isn't responding. I cleared data, cache. even deleted and re downloaded it, created a new account and it still says "app isn't responding"

While it has a good premise, it's frustrating with all the bugs I have to wrestle with. If I stop to eat or get gas, I have to reboot the app... it won't just pick up from the stop... it doesn't automatically resync itself with my Escort. Also, the app maps lack any context... no details like we get with Google or Apple. It would make more sense for this app to sync up with the aforementioned driving apps... like when I drove for Uber and Lyft. A lot of room for improvement.

This app is completely useless. I have my phone location set to precise and my location constantly bounces in the app. I'm lucky if it holds my current location for more than 30 seconds. Therefore I cannot use it for navigation and my speed limit is never displayed correctly. Side note, I've used Waze, Google maps, and Escort Live for many years and I've never had a single issue with my location not being accurate. How many people have to complain about the same problem before it's fixed???

Has potential but is a long way from being good. Map loads quickly. I have to click device for it to connect to my redline 360c. Several times it has prompted me to add a vehicle and device as it did not recognize my information I already put in. Then when I back out the original info shows up along with the new info I put in so I have to delete one. when using the map the vehicle icon is very jumpy and not smooth. Maps are very bleh also.
