Dings for hard brakes. even using their own data i have .2-.25G well under .33G yet flags them all day long and forget about braking for yellows. yellow means speed up or just run the red. support says it's some third party software out of China so good luck getting it fixed

helps keep drivers accountable. the only problem is sometimes multiple drivers with app are driving in same car and it doesn't seem to always allow non drivers to negate the trip ... getting dinged for using cell phone, other driver's habits, etc
The app operates in the background and tracks your driving habits. The results have saved me hundreds of dollars in car insurance payments.
There are a few places on the map that the speed limit is incorrect. I got dinged for speeding when the posted speed limit was 55 mph and the map said the speed limit was 30, the speed limit never changed. There isn't anywhere to give a reason for hard braking, as in avoiding hitting a deer darting across the road in front of you.
so far I like it, but when you use your phone for navigation the app dings you for that, and it knows if passengers are on the phone.
*update - I would say 85% of my hard braking issues are me preventing an accident. Such a dumb app. I am glad it saves me money but seriously the hard braking part needs to go away. Can't pass a slow vehicle without getting dinged on it. Would have hit a pheasant today had I not hit the brakes hard. Got dinged for that too. This app is so bad. I understand distractions, but braking should not count against you and you should get some leeway for passing another vehicle.
This appointment pretty much turns you into a worse driver. Dings you for "fast stops" that border on ludicrous. A light turned yellow, there was no way I could safely make it so I slowly stopped. Got dinged. Maybe the unit they sent me is bad. Stay away from this. Oh, yeah - it doesn't ding me for speeding at all. What a terrible app or process.
I find this app very helpful in keeping safe driving skills at the forefront of my thoughts while on the road. In rural states it might be helpful to have a category on fast braking that says "animal on road" or "sudden slow moving equipment /vehicle" or "construction" to explain why it is necessary. Likewise, there could be one in speed that says "necessary to keep up with steady flow of heavy traffic" or "following guide vehicle" .
many of the stoplights in my area don't give tons of warning. so we are getting dinged on our score for hard braking when we shouldn't be. How about avoiding accidents. if we are going to get beat up in our score from that, and it basically cancels out everything good we do. What's the point of using the app. freaking joke
This app, through your insurance, will grade your driving based on 3 elements. While the other 2 are fine, braking was something contradicting. Like, if I needed to stop because of a deer or something, how would this affect me. I actually had to brake recently because of someone cutting me off. The score reflected my decision to be safe, poorly. It's like an encouragement to not be safe and get in a wreck. And there's no indicator to express the situation.
Even though it's a little laggy sometimes and the "hard breaking" algorithm is calculated some weird way and not always reflective of the actual breaking, this app has helped me become a safer driver. Set-up and pairing with the vehicle was super simple and it is pretty straight forward on how to use it. The help link does not work so that would be nice to get fixed.
In all the years I've been using apps, hundreds if not thousands of them, this is by FAR the one that needs the most improvements, if not just scrapped and redone from scratch. It is utterly a clusterfvck. It picks the wrong driver about 75% of the time so we have to go in DAILY and tell it one or the other of us was not driving. It gives you a "hard braking" for stopping at a red light. It gave me a speeding for doing 20 over on the highway while I was behind a dump truck doing about 50. JUNK!
Overall great app, though it's a little confusing for how you get docked points. For example, I was hit with a phone usage/distraction during a drive, which I didn't do. And when I reviewed the event, it said phone used 00:00 minutes 0 times, but still counted against me. Other than that, it's user friendly and easy to understand.
Interesting app, but very finicky - be prepared to get nailed for no reason. I've lost random points for phone use even though I have never used my phone in the car (even when stopped) and have a 100% streak. You will also be faced with the big decision to run the yellow/red light or stop and get dinged for hard breaking. My hard breaking events have come from exiting the highway, stopping at yellow/red lights slowly, and making left turns. You can do everything right, but the app will hate you.
It's OK. When approaching intersections with traffic lights, it registers hard braking if I can still safely stop - rather than speeding up to beat the red. No idea how they can adjust for this, but it affects the daily score against me. Maybe there's a way to show repeated hard braking occurs at intersections, and it can be adjusted. Another time, I had just pulled over, came to a complete stop, and looked at my phone for directions. It read that as a distraction instead.
Buggy. Annoying that my discount depends on an app that is so buggy. It fails to upload trips. The notification pops up to say it is recording the trip, but no trips have been added to the log in the last two weeks. One of my registered vehicles now doesn't appear in the list my vehicles. App fails to open correctly if I open from the main icon. It asks me for registration code. Opening from settings works.
It was easy to set up and has helped me become more aware of my driving habits, which is why it got a 2. Other than that, it keeps decreasing my score when it doesn't show any "events" have been logged and 5 stars for all of my trips. I don't understand how it keeps decreasing my score! I'm starting to wonder if this is worth getting a discount, as I feel like the app will continue to decrease my score so I don't get the discount! Please fix this issue, as I enjoy tracking my driving habits!!!
Works well! I had a hard brake and it took note and dropped my score unfortunately. I live in a rural area with deer, opossum, rabbits, squirrels and the like. Our road is contoured so we drive just to the right of center so I can see how this map might misinterpret some moves but overall it's a great tool and forces the person to be a better driver.
Device lags a lot, it doesn't really calculate the savings to make it worth wild for the insurance and lastly my kids and I have different last names but for some reason the app sometimes recognizes us all under 1 policy and at times it has it all split by last name (household). If your app can start recognizing it as a policy since it's 1 bill no matter how many last names there are that would be great. It will relieve a lot of stress on both the consumer and the insurance agents.
