Reviews for Dropbox: Secure Cloud Storage

Signed up for the 30 free trial. Meh. Tried to cancel the next day, but there was no button for that in Dropbox. I had to search for it, and discovered that I had to go to My Subscriptions in Google Play, but COULDN'T. There's nothing there regarding Dropbox. Now I'm having a hard time finding the Contact Us link. Don't sign up for this nuisance.

I'm really disappointed in this company. I've been a Dropbox user since the very beginning. Suddenly, they've introduced an arbitrary three device limit that makes this all but useless unless you pay $120+ a year. I have no problem paying for valuable services, but the fact that you they want longstanding customers to pay over $120 just to sync four devices instead of three is absurd. This is the writing on the wall, time to jump ship because going forward, Dropbox is going to be looking for every arbitrary way it can to extort money out of longtime users. What's next, caps on how many times you can access a file unless you pay for a new $300 a year "Elite" tier of service?

Incredibly restrictive, 3 installs at most... for something that is supposed to give you 'everywhere cloud storage'. The app doesn't integrate into android nearly as well as PC. And the cost to got to PLUS is an absurd amount of money with 10x the storage space you are actually going to use. Save money and use Google Drive. It's a far superior value.

User since 2012 - I recently did a factory reset and instead of installing from my list of apps under management I just typed in Dropbox. I'm writing after seeing the negative reviews. I've never been disappointed with my free account. I believe 14 devices later and still happy. I can easily share a single file or multiple folders to a single person, or group of people. I use on our PC and it keeps everything nice and synced. I'm not sure about the space they offer now, I've referred a lot.

I've had it for years and used it periodically but never exclusively. Recently, I've needed it for a little project or mine and I noticed something that driving me completely bonkers. When downloading, anything really, there's NO PROGRESS BAR! Nothing! 😡 So I have no idea when the process will finish. I can't even tell if for some reason the process froze or got hung up. Im having to go in and out of the destination folder and watch the folders item count to see when it stops increasing. 😐😐😐

Even with all the settings proper, the photos in my gallery from the past couple weeks won't upload / synchronize to the cloud. I know everything's working because if I put something on my computer in that folder. It shows up on my phone. But it's supposed to go the other way and make sure all the latest photos have been synchronized and that is not working. Days later after my review, the missing phone camera photos synchronized / appeared on my computer. I did NOT delete and re-install app.

I've been a user of PC's & Macs for decades, and Dropbox intermittently during that time. I have NEVER encountered anything less intuitively navigable, even with devoted time and effort, than Dropbox. It's atrocious! I've hardly EVER been more frustrated. Perhaps this has something to do with why more people don't subscribe to their expensive service.!? It may have a lot of great functionality, but if a reasonably computer-savvy person can't figure it out, what the Hell use is it!?

In general, I like Dropbox enough to have a paid membership. However, I find the mobile app extremely frustrating. Trying to upload photos from my phone to specific folders is impossible to do in one or even two steps. I end up having to upload from my phone and the wait until I am on my computer to put them in a specific folder. This is absolutely ridiculous. My phone photos are organized into albums but Dropbox doesn't see those albums. Y'all need to fix this.

Quality has declined a lot. I use this for work, to take images of documents upload them with Dropbox and email them. (my emails are too big for the phone app) It now takes a few hours to upload 3 or 4 8 mb pictures. It doesn't automatically upload any of my photos even though I have the option checked. On the other hand, it takes about 5 or 10 minutes to do the same thing with Google drive. This app literally has no reason to exist anymore.

I'm a big fan of Dropbox. I use it all the time, both personally and professionally, and I have found that the desktop and browser versions are terrific! But the Android app is not great. Primarily because the videos never upload regardless of whether you're using data or wifi, or if you have the video upload option on or not. I also find that photos never get uploaded unless the app stays open and you manually turn the camera upload option off and then on again.
