I learned about Dropout through YouTube and immediately got hooked once I found out that dropout has an actual streaming platform and that is cheaper than almost any other streaming platform out there I had to get it. There are no ads/commercials, and there's pretty much an endless supply of media. The smallest downside is occasionally when you want to continue something you were watching early it does not pop up under the "resume" panel or the "resume" panel shows something that you finished.
Reviews for Dropout
← Back to DropoutBy far my favorite streaming service, but my issues lie with the app itself. My "Continue Watching" never shows the most recent, sometimes even 3-4 episodes back will be shown even if I've completed them. Also, watching from my phone and then watching on my TV will do a similar thing, time stamps do not match up. It's definitely a syncing issue- it'd be a perfect rating if the UI was a little cleaner and seamless between viewing experiences. P.S: Samsung TVs are VERY laggy when streaming. :/
The content is fantastic. it would be so nice if there was a TV app for the PlayStation 5. I also wish there was podcast versions of the dimension 20 content because I listen to the stuff a lot. that being said, the background audio feature does work really well. overall super pleased with the app. it just would be nice to have a few more options for where and how I watch or listen.
I have only used the app a little since getting my subscription, but my experience thus far has been excellent. My older Samsung TV doesn't have access to the TV app, but I have a Chromecast that I am able to use to stream it from my phone to the TV. The picture quality and load times are really quick, and I really appreciate that the app is cleanly designed, and not bogged down by a ton of extra features.
as a content platform, Dropout has some of the best shows currently being made on the internet. Period. As an -app- however, it's not great. Pretty bare bones, and going through menus doesn't always feel very intuitive. Sometimes when I've watched an episode of something all the way through it insists that I haven't , so it's what comes up whenever I press resume. Still, the only reason why it's not getting 5 stars is because the app's just a little jank. The content itself is amazing.
Literally the only subscription I've ever had, and if the ship sails straight, Ill simply stay aboard. Haha. I've nothing but praise for the crews, the talent, the production value, the camaraderie, the variety, the inclusion, the price. All around amazing app and service. My singular gripe is that sometimes the "resume" bar won't update, but the rest of app is so easy to navigate it almost doesn't matter.
I love the content and the ability to download the content, so I dont use up mobile data. (I know, crazy how, in 2025, I don't have unlimited data) The only thing I struggle with is the app not always pulling up my most recent episodes watched so I have to go searching for them everytime I want to continue watching content. Everything else is fantastic!
Adding show tabs to the download section and having the downloaded episodes sorted by those tabs would make a good experience really great!! As far as the content goes, 10/10!!! I hate to leave less than a 5 star review but the app needs work as far as downloads go. The fact that I can download shows is great but they become so jumbled and disorganized in the download menu if you try to download many different shows. I have to use this feature as my wifi and signal are precarious all the time :(
It started out as some funny haha compilation clips on YouTube recommend to me. Then I watched the whole first season of fantasy high for free on there. But it wasn't enough! I needed more! MORE! So I downloaded the app and got a subscription. You should too, I guess, if you want your life to be taken over by a bunch of silly little guys that always say "Yes and" and it always be the funniest thing you've ever seen/heard.
The video content is flawless! ...But the app is not. If for any reason the stream is interrupted, it will forget your place in the video and start it from the beginning! Some of these videos are hours long, so finding your place again is a nightmare. The website and app also will not agree on how far you got into a video, so switching between them hurts. We need to be able to mark the videos as watched too - sometimes it kicks you back to the same video over and over because there's 1% left.
Absolutely love the content, however I do have some issues with the app itself. The primary issue lately is that random videos have started appearing in my continue watching for shows I don't watch if I've selected an episode of a show through the recent releases tab and I have so far been unable to remove said videos. Even if I open the episode and skip to the end, the next video for recent releases replaced the video I just watched.
If you buy any subscription, it should be this one. No ads and clear subtitles. Fantastic content, and they come out with new stuff regularly. They have clear pricing, and my price has locked in since I subscribed despite the price increase. $5/ month or even cheaper if you buy for the year. I am never getting rid of it.
love the content, the people, everything. however, "resume" just isnt working properly for me. I have one episode just stuck there, and it does not keep track of episodes ive watched in the same series. its really annoying having to go to the episode ive been watching, and find the moment I was at. when the episodes are a couple hours long, its tedious. not gonna give a bad rating, just an annoyance that I hope gets patched at some point
Eta: They fixed it! I really love the content; I've used it for 2 years with no problems but as of yesterday it's so slow to load it never actually even gets to the content. Non-functional. I'm so sad! I listen every day! I've been using the browser version, but it's not as good. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, deleting data and cookies, updating, restarting my phone. Nothing helps. I saw a reddit user with the same problem from 6 months ago on android. I hope someone can help fix it!
I love many things about Dropout, the price, the content, and it has a good app layout. But if I could suggest one thing, it would be a comments section. I really like being able to share thoughts about media. That's why, even with a Dropout subscription, I still frequent videos on the College Humor youtube page. I also needed to drop my subscription for a few months when I was in a financial situation, it was incredibly easy to cancel or pause my subscription until I could pay for it again.
Have encountered a few bugs here and there, specifically in regards to screen orientation (though there's been a recent update and I haven't had a chance to see if that was resolved), and I also wish it were easier to navigate to a series homepage through the search bar, but the quality of the streaming content is top tier, and none of that is really all that negative. The only thing I really wish was that there were a way to more easily cast to my smart TV so I could watch on a bigger screen.
Love the content! The "resume" feature would be more useful if it grouped whole series together, rather than individual episodes. And maybe this is more of a Chromecast problem, but videos will often keep playing on my phone even when I stop playback on my TV. It would also be nice if the app kept my captions turned on so I don't have to click that seeing every time. Overall, hilarious and entertaining stuff. Great value, especially for the price.
Amazing content. I cannot emphasize enough just how much I love these people. The app itself leaves some to be desired. I wish navigating through different shows was easier. I wish resume play and the like were more prominent when I open the app. there are times I resume watching and then it doesn't set up to autoplay the next episode. Sometimes I open the app or the show I am watching and it doesn't load up (it is not a wifi issue).
Great app to watch outstanding comedy. Dropout to me is such a unique platform compared to other streaming services. I know they're a business like any other, and it is basically just TV, but the people that work there seem to enjoy it and each other's presence rather than slog through "content creation" and it shows in everything I've seen so far.
Dropout is an AMAZING streaming service with many amazing shows. The app works pretty well, but there's some features I think it could use that would make it 5 stars, like the ability to remove things from continue watching, and it can be awkward trying to navigate, especially if you're looking for older or less popular shows. But it doesn't crash and it lets me know when new episodes of Game Changer and Um, Actually come out, and that's really important.
