Sometimes I use it to identify my meds from pharmacy. They switch manufacturers all the time, don't always tell me. I opened a bottle & was confused. What's this?🤔It's different from previous RX. The prior pharmacy I had (not current one), actually had ONE PILL in my bottle, that wasn't mine. I took a picture of the pill, & your app identified it as Methadone! I don't take that med! Had I taken that one pill (by accident), it would have killed me. Contraindicated in another RX I take. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐!!
Reviews for Drugs.com Medication Guide
← Back to Drugs.com Medication GuideThis app has been useful over many years while working in healthcare. I've utilized the pill identifier countless times over the 10+ years I worked in home health where a client had dropped or mixed up their medications and had several pills that looked similar.
Used to be the go-to app for first responders to help identify and look up medications and what they're prescribed for, however, it's really gone downhill in the past several years. Information that was previously laid out well regarding pill identification, prescription diagnosis, and common side effects (especially for patients who overdose on them) is now difficult to find and filled with distracting ads that makes this app useless in the field.
If you want to start a road to recovery and improve your health get this app. Plug in all your meds look and read and pay attention to the interactions. Doctors can't do it all but this app with help you help yourself. It helped me save myself by using the simple color warning system for drug interactions I started to see where I was over medicated and what medicines were fighting against against each other. I took this information to my doctor and talked to them and they listened. It saved me
I have the 1 yr no-ads sub & I get ads EVERY DAY. I have tried logging out & in the app, which only works sometimes for a day. This is happening on multiple devices, Motorolas & Samsungs, & Android OS ver. 13, 14, 15. Previous versions of this app had a restore subscription option that I would have to use EVERY DAY. The current version of this app removed that option. This has been going for 2 years! DO NOT USE THIS APP EVER!!! A month after my review, it is STILL A PROBLEM that needs fixing!!
Highly recommend this app for people who need to keep track of many different medications, especially if they change often. It has many helpful features for both managing existing medications/dosages and researching new ones (it checks interactions with both other drugs and any medical conditions you might have). Having a list to refer to when I visit my doctors, to make sure I can get all the dosages straight and not leave anything out, gives a lot of peace of mind.
I have had multiple surgeries, resulting in a variety of medications, and doctors. During every initial visit, the intake forms always request a medical history. I have tried multiple applications for the storage of my medicines, surgeries, and hospital visits. This is the only application that can record the above information, it has additional features, one being the pill identifier, I use this to verify medications when I get a new prescription or meds change, and other helpful applications.
I find the app very useful for tracking my many meds and checking interactions. However there seems to be a bug with the sharing feature. When I try to share my med list, it shares a link to create a new profile instead. I have had to manually type the URL for my profile in order to direct the recipient to the right place. This is an important feature for me because it makes it easier to give doctors accurate info and because I want a friend to have an up to date list in case of emergency.
Excellent app. for tracking all your meds. along with all the possible side effects and adverse interactions with other meds. Makes it so much easier than going through a list of all your meds. and cross indexing them to every other med. you have. This is especially true for meds. that are taken on an as needed basis. 🙃😁 I take about 35 total different meds., of which about 30 are by prescription. This is a real time saver and maybe a life saver. Knowing which meds. to not take. 😁🤓 SUPER APP
Seems to be very useful when on complex med list. However. Would be nice to be able to develop a way to split list based on meds scheduled time to take. As drugs interact with others they need to be separated by time, I had to devise 5 separated list to get true interaction data based on that scheduled med list. Needs to have ability to copy/move between profile list(s) to make sub lists, instead of having to reenter data each time. Very time consuming and more likely to human error. Great.
It's nice to get everything in one organized place, but I really need IMAGES of the pills right in the meds list. In fact, it would be really nice if it had a computer vision feature that could match the pills you have laid out with the camera to the ones on your list and tell you if you've got them all there or which ones are missing. I take 16 meds right now with frequent changes to my regimen. So, I really have to double check that everything is correct. This app doesn't help me do that
I can keep both mine and my son's med list just fine, and love the interaction checker and pill identifier along with all the info on the drug that's available. What needs to be developed is in-app medication reminders. Email reminders are useless, they are not alerts. This is not new technology, people. While you're at it, refill reminders would be cool too. Also, sharing my list is way too convoluted. All-in-all, this app needs a lot of work.
This app has helped me organize my medications in my mind. I take approximately 20 different medications each day, having a list helps me to sort and set up my meds. The printout is extremely helpful when going to different doctors, bringing all your pills or trying to remember them all is very difficult if not impossible for me. I also like having the list to check off when I'm ordering medications. Since I can't think of any improvements to suggest, will have to give it but full 5-star rating!
As a nurse, I ♥️ this app. Having the ability to view meds as a lay person and a professional, is very insightful. I do have a couple of suggestions that could better the application. I would like to see the ability to tract your vital signs, glucose and weight. With that you would be able to manage your total health with one application. Good job 👍.
This is a WONDERFUL way of tracking not just my own, but each member of my family's medications, illnesses, and allergies. I've used it for years, and have almost everything I need for tracking the problems and treatments for each of my family members in one app that I can then share with each of our docs easily, either electronically or by printing it for them. There are so many things this app tracks, I think every family with chronic illnesses or aging members absolutely NEEDS to use it!
Even my doctor uses this app, I discovered the other day when talking with him. It's great for identifying a pill from the code on it. I had a little bottle with a number of different pills that had fallen out of their bottles. I had to use a loupe to read the codes, but it was worth the headache! The inevitable ads are not a big nuisance, and the app is free in general. It's also updated often, which tells me ìt's serious in being an info app and not a game.
This is my go to app whenever I need to learn about a medication. Found a pill? not sure what it's for? Look it up by color, size, shape or printing. Creating a medication list is easy using the scanning feature and is a great tool to keep track of refills. You can also print a med list for your Drs visit. So many other tools in this app.
Still use it and love it after 2 years! I wish I found this sooner. Absolutely love the ability to print off a list of meds, allergies and conditions. I use the detail section to record Doctors who prescribed and date and detail of reaction. I have used another one but would not allow for printing and Doctor offices don't have time for you to pull open your phone and app. I can just hand them the list. There is also a section for notes where you can add in surgeries and procedures. Love it!
I love this app! I take a lot of medications for my health issues. When my doctor puts me on a new medication, I always come here to the interaction checker to see if it interacts with any of my meds. You can also keep your medication list on the app, there are a lot of benefits to doing this. There is a pill identifier, which has come in handy at times. Plus anytime there's a recall they will email you right away to let you know. This is a great app and I definitely recommend it to ANYONE who has a chronic medical condition or takes medications on a regular basis.
I enter every new drug, including vitamins, minerals and supplements that I take. The app gives interactions between drugs, food and alcohol. It helps me keep track of current medications and offers a handy printout feature. I use the app when I go to Dr. appointments to update records. I also use it to research meds. This is one of the most useful apps I have.
