Description
I’ve been using Duo Mobile for a couple months now. It’s basically an app that works with Duo Security’s two-factor authentication service to make your logins more secure. The way it works is you generate passcodes in the app to use when logging into your accounts. There’s also an option to get push notifications for easy one-tap authentication, which is pretty convenient.
And the cool thing is you can use Duo Mobile to manage two-factor for all kinds of apps and websites, not just Duo. So it’s a handy way to have all your passcode generators in one place. Oh, and there’s a Wear OS companion app too, which makes it even easier to authenticate on your smartwatch.
Look, if you’re into keeping your online accounts extra secure, you’ll probably dig Duo Mobile. It’s not perfect – the setup can be a bit of a pain if you’re not familiar with two-factor – but overall it does a solid job of making your logins more secure without too much hassle.
Editor Opinion
In my experience, Duo Mobile is a pretty solid option for two-factor authentication. I've tested a bunch of these types of apps, and this one's one of the more user-friendly ones I've come across. The push notifications and Wear OS integration are nice touches that make the whole process more convenient. The only real downside is that it can be tricky to get set up, especially if you're not already using Duo Security. But once you've got it linked to your accounts, it works like a charm.
