The ads became really intrusive recently, which has entirely ruined the experience of the app. Before this I'd use it constantly and LOVED it, it was the perfect budget app. I'm so sad that it changed as I cannot find one that has the same features I liked but no way am I paying a recurring fee, especially WEEKLY, just to make it usable again. If the ads were back how they used to be, it would've been 5 stars.
Reviews for EasyBudget - Budget planning
← Back to EasyBudget - Budget planningthis app was wonderful, still is in terms of what it offers, it's the only budget app I found that easily lets you add recurring income and expenses. however, now you must watch an ad every single time you open the app, which is very annoying when I'm just trying to check my budget. would not recommend anymore, unfortunately.
I really loved this app when I first downloaded it. I use it every day to check against my bank balance. However, one week ago, I started getting ad pop-ups when I open the app. I have to wait until the ad stops before I can move on to balancing my budget. Very frustrating to use now. Then today, I got multiple requests to rate this app, and when I clicked "no", another ad popped up. This happened twice. I am going to search for a new app to use if this continues.
I honestly would have given this app OVER 5 stars in the past as a longtime daily user! It has been so incredibly helpful, seriously. 💗 The problem is it started to show ads, which I totally understand, however: 1) I love the app so much I wanted to upgrade & pay for ad-free, but $14.99 / WEEK?! I'm budgeting bc I'm broke lol 🤯 2) With free I would be totally fine w/ the ads *if* they didn't have fake buttons to skip or X out the screen! Half the time they're actually links, & that's not okay.
*I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS APP* New update has alot of ads for the free version! Also, 15/wk for pro is straight up rediculous! Will definitely be switching to something else. Edit 9/13/25 The adds have rendered this app unusable. The games they make you play are very agitating, they don't go away once completed and sometimes it takes me several minutes or longer to access my account. And this happens multiple times throughout the day.
I LOVED this app. They recently added ads. Annoying, but fine. That's what they need to do to keep the app running, fine. But now an ad starts every time I open the app & it WILL NOT GO AWAY. Its a full-screen ad. I basically have a whole app which only functions to replay the same ad for shoes infinitely. It absolutely ruined one of my most-used apps. Will be deleting if it's not fixed soon. Edit: I understand that there is a premium version. The free version should still WORK though!
Wow. great app turned poor because of ads. Now you can't even open the app without sitting through multiple horrible ads that most of the time don't let you click away when you finish them and direct you to the google play store. The cost to get rid of them? 15.99 a WEEK. Outrageous. Will be moving on to a different app. Update: the developer response seems to think 15.99 a week (over 700 dollars a year) is a fair price for what used to be a free app. Imagine that.
The app itself works well and when initially installing it there were no ads. But now ads are present and if you go "pro" it will cost $14.99 PER WEEK PER CELL PHONE which comes out to over $1500 per year to have the app on both my wife's phone as well as mine. That is a ridiculously high amount and I hope they change that to make it more affordable.
I liked how simple the app was, but suddenly they started showing ads.... obnoxious and intrusive ads. The last thing I want from my budget app is a loud, full screen ad (that I can't exit or mute) popping up when I'm trying to enter a budget item in at the store. if it's not a video, it's an annoying full screen ad popping up randomly. I would happily pay a one-time $5 or something for access to a simple budget app like this, but the ads are frustrating. Will definitely be deleting this app.
signed up for a free trial of premium but I got signed out of the app. There's no way for me to sign back in. The only option is to sign up for pro or premium (I already pay for pro). So now it is entirely unusable because it won't even let me access my accounts. Also, $15 a week is absolutely absurd. I don't know what the developer is thinking. No other app charges anywhere near that. I liked this app because of its simplicity. It is not worth $780 a year.
Edited to add: The developer says "buy the premium version" in their response here, but there is no way for me to even do that since the app opens to an ad that will not close. Not to mention, if the pricing of the premium version is right in other reviews, this app does not do enough to be worthy of that pricing. used to love this app, now I can't even open it because there is no way to close the ad when it opens half the time. Will be uninstalling cause it's jow unusable.
Newest updated added ads that you can't close out of when opening the app. The worst of all types of ads, the ones that open up a video/full screen after you press buttons in the app. This doesn't make me want to spend $14.99/week to get rid of the ads, these ads makes me want to code my own app. **if you're going to hit me with that "the premium version doesn't have ads, we're sorry the price seems high to you" response I will be deleting the app that is NOT how customer service works.
part of my morning routine was to use this app to balance my accounts, I would use the app frequently to decide if our budget could afford larger purchases, I loved this app. but now I have to watch more ads. ad when it opens, ad after I input a few expenses, ads ads ads. the pro version for $14.99 a week? when not watching an ad, I can see that will not work with my budget. after more than a year of use, I am sad to have to find another app.
The app used to be good, one of the better budgeting apps out there. But the ads are incredibly intrusive now, and it's a pain to use. The monetization in this app should be criminal. They expect you to pay 15$ a week for the pro version. That's 780$ a year for a consumer-grade app. You can get commercial financial software for cheaper that does a hell of a lot more than this simple budgeting app can do. response to devs: your app is not worth 780$ a year and you know that.
It now has super annoying fullscreen ads when the app starts up. I understand needing ads on the free version of the app, but this makes getting into the app way harder. The app used to be awesome, but this recent change with the ads is ruining the whole thing for me. For the few features this app has the paid version isn't worth it to me. If the developer isn't willing to switch to less intrusive ads I'll simply uninstall it. It's a nice to have app, not a need by any means.
What used to be a fantastic app is now absolute rubbish. Now they push very intrusive ads and you can't even pay because they want 15 dollars a week which is outrageous. Also, I may be mistaken, but I thought I bought a premium version of this years ago to avoid ads and have online backups. what happened to that then? Stay away. Find something different. The tide of enshitification is ever rising.
As someone else said, having a list of bills in addition to clicking each day would be useful, but the rolling total is really nice. < review from 7/2023. As of 10/2025: Still using this app, still would like a list of the month's bills. Husband and I both pay monthly to have the version that syncs all changes to both phones. Free version is only local to your device, which is fine.
things were good, no , great! we had an amazing app that was free, and there were banners commercials that were interesting and not aggressive. Unfortunately today when i opened the app, this annoying commercial debilitated my access to the app for 3 min. with tricky "x" that don't work when you try to get out. I don't trust those commercials, and I don't want them on my budget app. Sadly I will be looking for another app. 20$ a week is WAY too much for an app subscription.
DO NOT INSTALL!! I'm changing my five star review to ZERO STARS because the app will open directly to an ad. I cant go any further and it never lets you close the ad. This app is unuseable. I will not keep an app that I can not open. I just uninstalled the app to see if I could open it after reinstalling it. And now all of my data is lost🤬 And for a laugh read what the replies from the company are under the large number of complaints
This app was great until today when it took longer to load, threw me into an ad right when it opened and then offered me a 3 day free trial of the pro "non ad" version after which it would be $14.99 per WEEK. $59.96 per month to budget the little money I have? Yeah no, looks like I'll be finding another way.
