free trial lets you downlod and look at it. nothing else! # by default, just downloading an app gives developer a ton of personal phone data and access rights- regardless what you say in app settings. so any criminally minded developer can develop a bogus app that gets you to download, see its junk, delete, bad guys now got more than enough to do bad things. $110 to buy a year subscription- after alldiscounts clicking out. GOOGLE & ISP SHOULD BE LIABLE 4 ALL BAD GUYS BECAUSE THEY ALLOW IT !!!
Reviews for Eato®: Calorie Counter
AI is not accurate at all, although I have always been writing in the optional field what exactly is on the plate. the barcode reader doesn't recognise most things. I payed for 1 year subscription (in September), cancelled it but it doesn't look like I'm getting my refund back. I've contacted the customer service and instead of providing me with help and a refund they offered me another membership from other apps 🤷 discusting
There is no free trial. they charge you the same day for the full year and then have to fight to try and get a refund. i have my credit card trying to get my money back and file a fraud charge. also when scanning UPC's. The first six I scanned showed they could not be located. on one of them that scanned, it would not allow me to change the portion and put the entire package in my meall.
Plain and simple, gets to the point. Yet very creative and comfortable to use. I love how it first gives you the option to search, take barcode, or check item through camera. Second, that it adds exercise to the mix and how much you burn. Both very powerful features. It's my own personal dietitian and workout summary and result of the day. Very pleased with it. My third favorite feature is it tracks how much you burned exercising! Those three features just makes the app stands on top the rest!
Beware, dont use this app. From the ad videos, tiktoks, and questionnaire i got when i downloaded. I kept seeing that this app also included meal plans to help with your weight loss journey. this app only includes the ability to keep track of calories. nothing more. also, the first week is free with a yearly charge of 39.99 which charged immediately. what happened to the free trial. very sketchy.
It's not a bad app, per se, but there are multiple entries for the same item with different nutritional values and calorie counts. Which one do I choose? Also, I had to do a factory reset on my phone and lost all my data which concerns me. 🤷🏾♂️ All my other apps' data were backed up by Google on my Android phone, but there doesn't seem to be an option to backup the data on Eató...
So far, I like this app for ease of tracking. there are a few features I wish it had, like viewing your weight history in a chart or seeing your calorie history. I also wish it allowed you to put in half servings, but it only allows whole numbers. But it does its job and takes the stress out of me having to calculate calories.
There are no instructions on how to use the app. There is no ready-made food list, I put whole grain bread in the search bar..zip, this makes the app cumbersome it's really a pain when you try to adjust the pre-set amounts, you cannot. I use a scant teaspoon of butter on my toast, the program only allows a Tablespoon I'll be canceling my subscription.
Overall, I really like the app — it’s user-friendly and helpful. One thing I’m curious about: under the details for each entry, there’s a section for “Other” nutrition facts (calcium, iron, etc.), but these don’t seem to be included in the daily nutrition totals. Only fat, protein, carbs, and fiber are tallied. It would be great if the full nutritional breakdown was reflected in the daily summary.
overpriced does not allow for doing a quarter, half, etc of a serving so i have to keep my own count still. AI scan is very misleading and not worth $20 a month, only i have the half off and had to pay up front for the app not monthly allowing me to cancel. i will be contacting Google to request a refund, because I am so fed up having to double the work, I do not have the time for. so buyer beware. AI have given this app a fair shot, two weeks and False Advertisement is the words I will choose.
