Description
Been using eBird by Cornell Lab for a couple months now. It’s basically an app that helps you keep track of the birds you see out in the wild. Pretty solid if you’re into birdwatching and nature stuff.
Here’s what you do – you can log all the different birds you spot, whether it’s in your backyard or on a hike. There’s also a feature where you can see your life list, year list, and all the birds you’ve seen in a certain area. It’s got the full global taxonomy too, so you can find pretty much any bird in the world. Took me a while to figure out all the different lists and settings, but it’s useful once you get the hang of it.
Look, if you’re into birdwatching and want an easy way to record your sightings, you’ll probably like this app. It’s not perfect – the interface can be a bit clunky at times – but overall it does the job. Worth checking out if that’s your thing.
Editor Opinion
So here's my honest take on eBird by Cornell Lab. I've tested a bunch of nature/birdwatching apps and this one's definitely one of the better ones. The core functionality works really well - it's super easy to log new bird sightings and keep track of your lists. The global taxonomy is also impressive, you can find pretty much any bird species. The interface could be a bit more polished, but it's not a dealbreaker. Overall, if you're into this kind of thing, eBird is a pretty solid option.

NOT USER FRIENDLY! It's difficult to quickly add a single bird without doing the whole checklist business. You have to "name" the locations for whatever reason, even though they have...
I love eBird, no question about it. However, to do literally anything with the app, location has to be on, which is very unnecessary except for recording track. It should...
