Reviews for ecobee Wrap

← Back to ecobee Wrap

Daily reports only show information from 12am to 5pm, probably a bug. Sensors do not have occupancy information is a drawback from the official app. Decimal display, instead of rounding, of indoor temperature is the best feature of this app.

Update - used for couple of years, after the latest update, I had to remove my 4 stars. It will not connect to my Ecobee at all. This app was better than Ecobee's own app. Now useless, I am about to delete. I have now deleted the app as Ecobee Wrap was unable to connect to Ecobee at all on both my S8 or my Note 10.

I was too quick to give 5 stars. The new upgrade includes info at the bottom of the main floor screen. The info for inside temperature is shown in Fahrenheit degrees even if the setting calls for Celsius deg. It looks stupid to see internal temperature -6C. The outside is OK.

There are some bugs with day change affecting the next morning schedule, but it's still much easier to set schedules with this app than with the Ecobee app. Unfortunately you still need the Ecobee app for a few things, but overall this one is easier to use.

They have ruined this app by displaying a notice to paid users to setup Google Cloud to save and run reports. What if you simply do not wish to? Too bad! Every time you open the app you get this message to setup in Google Cloud. Every f##$$ time no matter how many times you cancel the message it appears the next time. Over and over and over. Idiotic. Just use the official app that comes from Ecobee. The people who designed this app are too incompetent to waste your time with.

I downgraded my review. To use any of the cool features of this app you need to pay a quarterly subscription. Stay away from this money grubbing app!!! Ecobee also has issues with intermittent heating at night making it hot and waking me up and my wife is ready to smash it with a hammer. Also can't use the sensors for any smart home routines. There are better ones out there now.

I was having issues with the EcoFactor Wrap app on this device (Galaxy S20) so I tried an Uninstall and attempted to reinstall the app but it's no longer available. I assume that the ecobee wrap app replaced it. However, when I attempted to login to the SupremeVue website after installing it, it would not accept my Email and Password for login. Manual Mode does not work either. I'm still running the EcoFactor Wrap app on my tablet without issues. A little help, please.

back to 5 stars.. devs fixed issue! Great app! Much easier than ecobee ... And a widget! Hope dev keeps at it... I paid for it and that will only help dev make it better. I suggest rotating temp input Instead of up and down. Minor point though. Also, and most apps, widgets have this, some customization would be nice.. Colors etc.

This has been a great app for me for years & if you're not plagued by the re-auth issues it's definitely a 5 * app. However, for me, recent changes at ecobee have resulted in this app being unusable. Constantly needing to reauthorize the app before it connects has forced me to abandon it.

After using the app for more than a year now I still prefer it over the native ecobee watch. It gives you a better overview of the AC status and an easier way to control it. Only problem I face is that the widget has to be restarted once a day because it doesn't show the AC Info any more.

10/13/2020: Thanks for the suggestion, but that did not work either. Edit: As of 09/08/2020, the app continually stops communicating with my ecobee account. I continually need to remove the "ecobee Wrap" app from my ecobee account, then re-add. Works for a day, then stops. I am going through this validation one more time before uninstalling. It has become too much effort. Latest updates are very useful. I use this more than the app from ecobee.

Ugly UI, no equipment run time data, deceptive and annoying Ads. I get u need ads to fund dev but deceptive click bait is not tolerated, uninstalled. UI also doesn't show humidity. The paid for reports are not able to be sampled before paying and buying app is also deceptive. Free month ONLY if you agree to pay a recurring fee. Other apps that are less annoying and free with better UIs... uninstalled after 10mins.

Not easy to navigate and find the information claimed available. Charts are also not easy to read or get information from. Colors I hope are able to be changed as they are not something I would want to keep. Maybe in time this app with input and improvements will be a good app.

I have a long list of suggestions that I'll post to the Google+ Community and/or send in an email, but here I'll just say that I like what I see! My ecobee is in a summer cottage. It's shut down and winterized every winter, and I don't use the furnace in the summer. I just use the furnace for a month or so around May and again in September. Clearly, I'm not about to pay for a subscription. The ads don't bother me much but in addition to all the feedback I have to send I'd like to contribute some money your way, so please please please bring back the option of a one-time purchase!

I mainly use this app to see more precise temperatures from my ecobee sensors. I like that they're down to the tenth decimal. For this purpose, it works great. It's a bit "older" looking, but functions fine. I am very happy that they added a theme option with dark mode as it took many color edits to make it dark before.

I like the app had some trouble with it not wanting to change to my away temps. It started matching the away temp to what ever the previous temp set in the house was. As in if I had the house set to 70 while I'm home and I switched to away, it would change the away temp to 70 as well. instead of changing the thermostats temp to 78 like I wanted. Also why do the reports only go to 5pm? I thought it was an issue with it being a free version restriction but I subscribed and out still stops at 5

While the app is a good idea there are too many issues. I have contacted support and done all their suggestions to no avail. The biggest problem is having to re-authorize the app with ecobee at random times. Sometimes it will ask to log back in several times a day, then it might make it a couple days before asking. I myself have to log into the Ecobee website to approve this app everytime its asks for a new login. Uninstalling and reinstalling did not work. I only have the app on one device.

Very useful app, great company. I downloaded this as a supplement to the ecobee app and other automation options. The widgets are great! The real thing that blew my mind was that the dev team accepted some feedback on a feature request, and now the app has it, which NO other app will do: automate HVAC mode based on external temperature. Trust me, there is no stock option anywhere for this. I did have to knock off a star because I found the geofencing to be unreliable, so I use Ecobee's.

Still loving this app and use it every day for the past several years. It is so much faster and fully functional compared to the ecobee app. I love being able to generate reports when I want to see usage. Moving between the many houses and thermostats I have is so much more convenient than the official app which has improved but is still a pain to navigate. Keep it up developers and yes I pay for a subscription!

I really like this app. Very configurable, way more options and features than the stock ecobee app. It does seem to have a bug now and then, but eventually they get fixed with updates. I do think the UI could use some improvement. The reason I'm not leaving 5 stars though is the subscription. I don't mind paying for an app to support the developers. The subscription model is ridiculous though. 16.00 a year. If that was a one time fee, I would have bought. Won't do subscriptions for apps.
